Agrippa Question - I'm confused...

In reply to Peorth:

Build Shields 7 required before you can start Stage II.
In fact all Stage II require maximum build skills - they only want the best...
Understood, thanks.

People were right when they said it would be very difficult to start my character from scratch again from my original Peorth of 1 year ago... my original character would have all the skills maxed long ago and back then had already just about every reactor recipe available to players. Now I'm having problems just trying to find a nova reactor to anny. ;)

If Agrippa wants only the best... make it easier for them to find recipes as the more recipes they get, the better their build chances! :P

How did you progress from this point? I'm stuck at this too on my PP. OL 71 with level 5 PL, level 5 build weapons and 4 stacks of Effervo Flachette ammo in the cargo hull.
What is your PP planning to do?

Remember, the talk tree does state that Gratis Augustus Var has requested that the Progen Warriors are involved in creating advanced ammunition for Agrippa Technology. Only Progen Warriors will be able to create the full range of ammunition for Agrippa Technology, Privateers will be able to create the basic type(s) and invited other specialists in stage II can create their racial standard damage type.

As specified in the talk tree from the previous mission:

"We don't have time for long studies, we need ammunition now! Here is the blueprint for the impact flachettes. See how the weapon makes use of more lower damage ammunition to give an overall increased damage chance!"

"For your assistance in creating this ammunition which is required for Progen Warriors to develop more advanced ammunition, we are awarding you our highest medal - the Symbol of Loyalty and the respect of the Collegia Traders.

This can be used to gain entry into Stage II of Agrippa Technology, you exchange it for an examination in your chosen field, good luck!"

"I have also been informed that Gratis Augustus Var has requested more advanced ammunition made by warriors only. These warriors will require a sample of the impact ammunition and the weapon to further their studies."

You do gain a Symbol of Loyalty which you could use in future to buy into Stage II for a chance of doing an examination.
I can't wait until hints can be entered into the captain's log.

Stay civil now (and kudos since it's been a month or so :))

First, let me say we don't want anyone leaving the emulator. I'm sure everyone understands this is a work in progress, and bumps will be in the road. while we hope to minimize these, some players will experience more problems than others.

We appreciate all bug reports and suggestions.

I must disagree with Mattscare " I need celliphane, npc x has some, see what he wants for it." is really just directions or instructions. What I would consider a puzzle would be something like this: "I've heard of mutated creatures being held near a prison. Please find them and sample their DNA" This would at least require you to know about the prison in ABG. You could also have harder puzzles which would relate directly to story arcs. They would be hard because unless you know the storyline or history of a particular event/sector/person (from previous missions or chat dialogue) you would be forced to ask people for help.

I'm also curious about the comment about letting non-puzzlers take the spoiler route. Isn't that the whole point of the bonus missions? If you don't want to puzzle out what to do shouldn't you just skip them? I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time, I'm just trying to understand this point of view.

More on-topic, I've started my first Agrippa mission and am looking forward to it quite a bit. Although it may be a bit easier on me since I'm reading through the forums a lot, I'm still interested to see what problems, if any I run into.

As content improves in the game, as more things become 'finalized' then talk trees could become more verbose and interactive with the NPC. Key thing to do is to get the content working first and then the talk trees can be embellished later on.

You just answered your own question :) Now don't get me wrong here, I'm not in any way trying to be rude or poke fun at your comment Dak but pouring over the forums to make your journey through the missions easier is exactly what he is talking about when he says spoilers. Though I do believe he is meaning a complete step by step rather than actually looking through the posts one by one. I don't particularly agree with the tone Mattsacre used or the idea to not test things, but I can understand his frustration.

I started running the Agrippa missions on Ladymorgue (PS) and Graveyard (PP)within the last 3 weeks or so. I did my duty and read through the description of mission selection vs. lvl, spoke with he NPCs associated with the missions, and now sit terrified because of the completely convoluted conversations and knowing that if I pick one wrong thing, I'm screwed. Thankfully, Magoo was kind enough to "suggest" what 3 missions Lady's class should proceed through! Graveyard went down the hull material mission I believe but I have had such a difficult time finding the mine-able materials he needs I can't remember exactly what he was proceeding to.

All in all I do not find the missions enjoyable though I will keep trying. If they were easier to follow and more concise in intent and direction I would not have a problem with them. I'd even be happy with being "locked" into a particular research path once you began just so you could follow what is going on a little easier. That would at least ensure you were able to got to the shield, ammo, etc. you really wanted. Just my opinion on things.

What I meant by spoilers: Have you ever done a crossword puzzle? If there is a clue you don't understand on 2) across you can work some of the down words to fill in a few blanks for you to work it out. Or barring that if its holding up your whole puzzle maybe you pull out the old trusty dictonary.

The point being you can come at it from a different angle. As all the convo trees and content are LINEAR in nature, you can't do that in this game. You HAVE to do part A so you can do B to lead to C....to eventaully get to Z *. So what do you do if you need that little hint to prode you through? 1. Beg the player base for the info, this quite often hits a wall (many times there are very few on, maybe nobody else has done the missions..etc. etc.) OR 2. Hit the trusty forums were server population don't play a factor.

Some of the Dev's have taken to scouring the forums of posts that have what they consider "spoilers". Precluding someone stuck from getting a hint so they could move on...

My point was that I know some folks LIKE not getting hints etc. (they are nuts imo :)) but others don't mind a prode or two when stuck. So like in other games's forums why can't there be spoiler alert topping hints? Like this:

Example: Q. I went to X NPC on step 3 of the "bob dog" mission and missed the convo tree as my system locked up during lag...anyone know what it was he wanted me to mine and how much? I just can't go past step 3 until I do and need that info!

A: X NPC on step 3 wants:
SPOILER ALERT!!!!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
(the bar of X's being a pull down spoiler you have to hover over to see.)

Now those nutty puzzle driven folks can just NOT hover over the spoiler and NOT see the info given and enjoy working out their own little triumph doing so. BUT allowing those stuck, or are not puzzle driven to progess without quitting emulator in frustration.

*Because of that linear nature if it don't say EXACTLY were choice A,B,C or D will wind you up on a mission arc, if you don't have some cut backs in the mission(s) or some forfeit/repeat options, then SOME folks are going to get P.O.ed and/or SCREWED once they complete a mission arc, and windup were they didn't intend. This has happened to me and others REPEATEDLY when doing a long convoluted mission(s) and either to unclear information given..or bugs we don't get the rewards intended (recipes, gear, etc etc.)

**If I told you to give me $100 and then walk through 1 of 6 doors, and you would get a suprise, would you? OR would you say "whats the reward for my $100?" or "whats the nature to that suprise", or "are there more than 1 rewards?" or "are any of the suprises better than others?" etc. etc. MAYBE if I was running a enterprise like that I would provide my customers at least a MODICUM of information to help their choice of doors: "well if you take door 1 that route will lead to some great and tastey food", "door 2 will lead on a route to fine jewlery", "hey through door 3 at some point you're going to meet people, one of which will be your dream mate". Note this DIDN'T say EXACTLY the item...or what you would have to do once past the portal, it just gave you a menu to make a initial choice from.

Illydar, you do bring up a good point, I do see lots of the forums (for obvious reasons) I hadn't really thought about a player who would solely (or almost always) be in game and rarely visit the forums. I can see how it would be more difficult and frustrating if you wanted to accomplish everything in game.

Also, here on the forums we do have a nifty tag you can use (spoiler and /spoiler surrounded by [ & ]). I'm not aware of any Devs removing posts that contain information on missions, although they do hide them if someone posts an exploit, so it won't be exploited and will be fixed.

I can understand you frustration after running into so many problems, and sympathize with you.

I certainly don't mind if players post hints or walkthroughs as some players have done before, just make sure you use the spoiler tags. I suppose the main thing I disagree with is would be if devs were requested to write the hints or walkthroughs. I feel this sort of thing should be done by the players. Byakhee did mention he is looking forward to being able to put hints in the captain's log.

Just a question here but do the NPCs require you to tear apart and rebuild an alternate lvl 7 shield, weapon, etc. prior to granting this part of the mission tree? That way they can "test" the player before proceeding and it let's they player know "Hey bud you gotta reach this build lvl before you can go on." I haven't done this part yet because my build lvl is one point shy atm.

The examination item is a new item only can be got by the mission, so you will not have encountered it before.

Due to some economy changes, there will be a cost to this item (per item) of 1 million credits in addition to the requirement of entry. This is likely to arise in a further patch.

Current cost of this item is 10 k cr.

The items will be level 9, your Build Shields skill at level 7 allows building/analyzing of level 8-9 shields.

Got stuck on my sentinel trying to complete devices stage one would appreciate some help please.

My sentinel completed shields stage one and got the invite to stage two with a symbol of loyalty too. She hasn't gotten either of those two items yet for devices from Vasi. I think Vasi last mentioned something to my sentinel about acquiring the Calathius Omega Beam so I got a beam tried talking to Vasi again but no continuation so far for stage one devices.

I'm confused about what comes next with Vasi in order to complete stage one devices and get the invite + symbol.

Any ideas?

To answer my question; my sentinel needed to make an override and take it to Vasi.

That completed stage one devices and grants an invite to stage two and a symbol of loyalty.

Alright, got stuck again trying to progress Stage II devices and shields on a sentinel.

My sentinel needed Stage II Encryptions, one each for each build skill (devices and shields). Talked Vaden into helping me, he told me the components dude needed 10x Stage II Electronic Authorizations so we got those prepared. Vaden went to the components dude to get the encryptions for me but the components dude wouldn't play ball. Vaden has +16k Collegia faction and did all the Agrippa stuff previously. Obviously all that Vodka didn't influence the dude much!

Does anyone have idea what the problem might be and how to remedy? Thanks.

Answering my own question is becoming a habit!

Vaden figured out what to do to make the components dude play ball. If anyone else gets stuck, try trading all the electronic authorizations to another character and talking with the components dude. When he becomes more co-operative, trade them back and you will eventually get the encryptions. What a palava!

Hello,
don't know if it's the right topic to post this but i hope :)

I'v do what i can in the agrippa mission but i don't know if i still have something to do (hull level 50 atm) before upgrading to the next hull.

I have the blueprint for:

Components:
Collegia Research Autorization MXXIC
Hull Mesh Laminate III

Ammo:
Effervo Flachette
Blowgun Toxicum Dart

The last mission i'v do was the component serie, Deschide Poarta tell me:
Should you obtain level 3 in build Components, hand around the ourside of Arx Emporos. You may be selected by Agrippa Technology to advance Progen science

My skills:
Build reactor: 5
Build shield: 4
Build weapon: 6
Build components: 4

I'v find this post:
STAGE I - PP
Comps - L1 Collegia Research Authorization MXXIC, L3 Hull Mesh Laminate III
Shields - L3 Skirmish Shield I, L2 Amplector Omega, L5 Seco Secare Secui Sectum Quinque, Stage II Invite - Shields
Reactors - L5 Auctoritas Remoror Quinque, Stage II Invite - Reactor
Weapons - L2 Calthius Omega Beam, L5 Multiforus Multiplico Effervo Quinque (MMEQ) PL, Stage II Invite - Weapons
Ammo - L2 Blowgun Toxicum Dart, L5 Effervo Flechette
Look like i'v complete the Ammo and comps line, but how i do the rest?

Did i have miss something? My game crashed once when i was doing the last mission for Telum, i'v try to take a screenshot of the discution like it's recommanded in many post but... when i press scroll lock it's closing my game... so i don't know if i'v miss something :)

btw where do you get the CE3K Eruption II? i'v search around but i don't have find :(

I found that if the game blows up or ctd when hitting Scroll Lock you need to adjust your screen resolution. Some resolutions work fine but others blow the client out of the water.

Ce3k eruption II is a "loot" item, there is no vendor for it. You either need to loot it yourself or have another player create it for you. Datasite will show you the ores you need if you are going to have a player make it for you. As its a ammo item you can't "rip it" from something with the exception of getting lucky on a ammo recipe anylize crit.

Since the datasite no longer shows what drops stuff, or the location of the mob dropping, you will need to find out specificly from another player what drops it, I can't remember positively what does, but I do know its a RD/chavez ammo comp so most likely what drops ML3+ and RD/chavez loot will also drop that ammo comp as well.

Oh to help you in future: almost all components that the name starts with a A,B,C or D (with a few exceptions) are loot only or player made. So a "C" e3k eruption II starts with C and is loot/pmed. As are Athanor, BlackBox, Brimstone items etc. Edited by Mattsacre

You have done everything possible at L50. Talk to the Collegia Nota in Mars she lays out the road map for Tokens/Agrippa missions and at what levels.

That list you posted was for all of stage 1 which is completed throughout L50-L100+

So...is there a walk through yet? :P *whistles* :) it seems in dodging the pain from agrippa w/ a TS I ran head on into the pain again at 135 :P

Got a old school PP,PW and a L75 PW (halted at 75 from old token stuff to catch up) and a new minted L30 PP. If there was a walk through maybe someone like me, that hates needless migraines, could do "optional" stuff and help out mine and other TS's "abstain-the-pain" lol.

So what am I missing? Becuase of last time passing lvl restrictions I'm paranoid about going past L75 and getting shut out again. Check out what I've done maybe someone else can tell me what I'm missing:

L55 PP:
Have done mission(s) to scan troy shield L3, and reactor caligula L3 (got waterloo L3 and titus L3 recipes as reward)

COMP OPTIONS
Have done the optional comp mission(s) for x10 ce3k and BlackBox.
Have done optional to get the collegia authorization form MXXIC.
Have done the optional to get Hull Mesh Laminate III.

AMMO OPTIONS
Have done the ammo one that takes worm bits for modified musket rounds.

Shield npc keeps sending me to see Inquiro,
Comp guy don't give more missions
Ammo npc don't give more missions

Still have 1 optional mission token.
Have collegia faction over 8k.
Have build skills maxed at my present L55 lvl.

So what other mission other than comps/ammo takes a token before L75?

And what, if anything am I missing that the Npc needs to see to advance talk tree?

Thanks if you can find the problem.

https://forum.enb-emulator.com/index.php?/topic/2744-agrippa-technology-update/

gives you the hull level's, so the shield dude doesn't talk to you at hull 50.

only thing you must do as a pp is the lvl50 component line and get access to a ps that can build you about 10 lvl2 shields (the one with the security device), stage 3 takes 10 devices to, so you'll be needing 20 hull mesh laminate.

the tricky part with stage 1 is that some talk tree's just dead end (fall back to the standard talk tree) if you do not have the right equipment in your hold, eg after turing in a security optimal override the next step would be building the lvl5 Effervo, but when you started with just one override that gottaken the talk tree reverts to default till you talk again to the npc with a override in your hold.

ps, the agrippa part only takes 4 of the 6 tokens, one for components, shields, reactor and weapons for a pp.
theother tokens you can use for other missions, like projectile(lvl100) or shield(lvl100).

grtz

ps, just done all on a pw/ps and pp (except reactor stage 1&3) Edited by snotty

I'm aware of the NPCs stonewalling characters until you have an object in your ships hold.

In future I hope to have a more interractive NPC who knows (heh) what stage of the mission tree you are at and give some kind of cryptic insult hint as to what they are expecting. However, such hints are distracting them from the research so they may implement a penalty of negative Collegia faction for the distraction.

All this is subject to code developers and is potential future content. At the moment Agrippa is completable (if you have the right stuff) so my main attention is now focussed on the 75-100 token missions ending in SK that simply are just NPC talk trees and you do nothing at all.

Yup, named the toon right MATTSOKIST, knew it was going to happen, don't have a single progen toon that hasn't gotten screwed over yet (2xPW) (2xPP) (2xPS), while doing progen optional content.

Was EXTREMELY attentive with PP Mattsokist, wrote ALL missions down and ALL items requested by npc. Was a huge pest in chat grilling other progen on what to do where to go etc etc. so that I didn't take some misstep and self-screw myself on content.
CAREFULLY READ COLLEGIA NOTA'S DIRECTIONS:
50-75:
1.Did the comps optional content and learned the MXXIC, learned Hull laminate (made over 200 of them figuring it needed for others content needs).
2.Did chem musket ammo, (gathered several stacks of worm bits knowing others would need them also) (held back other ore for others to do the mission also)
3.Did Vinda's crit target mission to kill/scan scuttle bugs (wondered after doing so and getting only xp and faction if I just blew a needed token for later content, didnt see a link to any other later builds made in convo tree).

RE-READ NOTA'S INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING BEFORE UPGRADING PAST 75:

Advanced past L75HU with trepidation, bugged and bored other progen with myriad questions before doing so (didn't want to miss out you know)

RE-READ NOTA'S DIRECTIONS FOR 75-100 AND LVL OF SKILL NEEDED:

Decided to lvl for SP to get all appropriate skill lvl that Nota told me about. While doing so, when appropriate ores were aquired, I made more hull mesh laminate and MXXIC and stored them. Got to L88 and had skills fleshed to appropriae lvls (recharge shield 4,negotiate 4, engine 4, device 5, menace 4) and went back to..

RE-READ NOTA INSTRUCTIONS:

Seeing no build applicable token missions..and taking the "hint" that later on negotiate may play a factor in token exchange, I went to NPC Alexander in Arx Bursa and chose his Negotiate thread, and not his recharge shield thread. He sent me to NPC Kluge, Kluge had a whole list of trade items he wanted, I CAREFULLY wrote it all down (knowing how those progen missions are SO sparce on info). He (Kluge) took mission token.

Proceeded to warp all over the universe to gather what he wanted in quantities of 5x...in doing math I noticed that he wanted 8 different items x5= 40...A progen hold isn't to 40 at this stage, deduced that I would have to turn in items in lots. I gathered everything except the last item SOIL from earth station (figuring also that he might want them in the order he listed them). In returning to Kluge he refused to talk to me for anything other than his trade vendor tree.

I note that before second attempt to converse with Kluge there is no:
A.Mission showing in log.
B.Both tokens given at HU75 were removed by Kluge during 1st talk tree.

I opened a support ticket at that point.

So now what?

P.S. can we PLEASE get a mission list from point A to Z to reward? Either CDev or players list what they need to do at 50,75,100,135 to get to say reward fletchette, or ammo for them, or shields etc.? You don't have to tell what they have to do to do each mission if you want to be so mystic about it, just have a general map, so if you know you want to get to fletchettes and you need x tokens to get there you know not to spend the token on something that isn't going to get you there. (like the Vinda one I did, somehow I think after doing it, I get the feeling it wasn't going to go there, was just a zp/faction gain..it was good xp true..and if that was what I was after and not recipe I would have chose that!)

P.P.S.S. after a 6th screwing, even I'M not that much of a masochist! If mission can't be straightened out, or tokens reimbursed for this toon (or others), then me testing progen stuff can just go to hell. 3 toons to L150, 3 toons (1xL88, 2xL75) and zero "optional rewards" to show for all that test, and time invested is just to much to ask..sorry.
