  1. Please can maps use the A-Z acount wide setting when providing a list of avatar names.   Setting is portal -> Account -> Master Account Settings -> A-Z Avatar List (either on or off).   Map is portal -> Main -> Avatar (drop down box of avatar names).   Thanks!
  2.   Have you verified that with a dev e.g. Evermore or Riia? I had a hint there was a CL21 in Xipe Totec that was dropping it.
  3. Yes that wininet error message is directly related.   wine/dlls/netconnection.c function netconn_secure_verify()          if (!endCert) ret = FALSE;         if (ret)         {             /* Begin HACK */             DWORD_PTR err;             {                 if (getenv("WINEHACKENB"))                 {                   TRACE("HACKENB: stage %d: security flags = 0x%x\n", 1, conn->security_flags);                   conn->security_flags |= SECURITY_FLAG_IGNORE_UNKNOWN_CA | SECURITY_FLAG_IGNORE_CERT_CN_INVALID;                   TRACE("HACKENB: stage %d: security flags = 0x%x\n", 2, conn->security_flags);                 }             }             err = netconn_verify_cert(conn, endCert, store);             /* End HACK */             if (err)             {                 pSSL_set_ex_data(ssl, error_idx, (void *)err);                 ret = FALSE;             }         }   export WINEHACKENB=1   The modification was detailed a few pages back -- the above version uses an environment variable to switch the modification on and off so wine can be used normally without certificate modification.
  4. Shakz -- wine 1.5 and inv-300 error.   Did you make the modification to netconnection.c in wine and recompile? That cures the INV-300 error.   Edit: Not sure what registry errors you mean but if it is the standard warnings and errors that wine spews out mostly you can ignore all that or &>/dev/null. But if you start the proxy and client and see stuff about sunset you can do the following:   REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Westwood Studios\Earth and Beyond\Registration] "Registered"=dword:00000001   Save the above as registered.reg and run wine regedit registered.reg (might've noted this before in this thread?)
  5. In live it definitely made a difference having group members in formation have a lazarus fitted. I can still clearly remember situations when it made a difference i.e. zipping around the Tada-O gate in formation with a group doing the raid when it was brand new. It makes sense that the formation can only warp as quickly as the slowest member in the formation can enter warp. May be if members in the formation have navigate skill it ought to add a small bonus to warp charge for members in formation if it does not already.
  6. Wine spews out messages on standard output/error regardless if the ENB installation succeeds or not. That sample you showed looked normal nothing exceptional. Do you have WINEARCH=win32 set? If not, you may need to try that create a new prefix first.
  7. Auto-form under review still?   Good. Kick the group auto-form out because it is a feature the game does not need. Best case or worse case it is exploitable. Six individuals in group all at different IPs and five of those individuals can more or less go AFK while they get toured around the whole galaxy for HOURS. Nevermind the multiboxer who always gets blamed for something as is usually the case.
  8. Which field is it, Mimir? Sector, location.   Certain hulk fields respawn in 30 mins or even 1 hour.   Others are on a random timer based on the field level for example L1-3 field has a timer 8 hours plus or minus 2 hours on each hulk respawn. L4-6 is 16 hours plus or minus 4 hours. And L7-9 is 24 hours plus or minus 6 hours per hulk.   So depending which field it is and guessing from what you've told us, it is not a 30 mins or 1 hour timed field but one of the longer timed hulk fields.
  9. Hey dude calm down, keep posting in your other thread in technical support.   Help will come!   https://forum.enb-emulator.com/index.php?/topic/8203-net-7-wont-open/
  10. Nicely done, I would like to figure out something similar for use on Linux -- my platform of choice for use at home these days. Although, I still keep a tamed copy of Windows-something lurking inside a VM I actually play ENB on Linux. Unfortunately, the old ebnotifier seems to be a bit too quirky to be runnable under wine.
  11. * Looks at Progen alts at the back of the bus getting excited * * Looks over this thread -- "Sit down Progen alt dudes, you're not going anywhere just yet" *   I wonder if the Pakkarat has prepared a Net 7 news flash for a future date for something like "Agrippa content finally finished construction or coding or whatever - its a done deal!". But may be even the Pakkarat cannot see that far into the future.   Ah well 2-3 months will be occupied by me levelling up Terrans and Jenquai.   There are a few foolhardy souls in Static and I am aware of a few in other guilds too, who are braving Agrippa right now. My hat goes off to you. Scouts need HML3, Stage II/II Encryptions and Amplector Omega for their final step in the promotion mission (after getting HU135 awarded) so they too are road-blocked by Agrippa. Sigh. Why did I hibernate my Progens AND THEN PICK TO PLAY the one other profession eventually road-blocked by Agrippa?!?! I thought I was on safe ground but NOOOOO. I forgot. The irony is almost too much.
  12. Mission content for gaining Glenn Comission faction? No idea what to suggest perhaps a series of go out and do this, this, this and that, repeatable every few hours or daily. I think jobbing is the only way to build up GC at the moment? It is not real great for gaining GC or any faction (we will all be in REAL spaceships before getting anywhere near 10K GC faction via jobbing).   (It would be nice perhaps to get some GC faction for taking out organic space critters in GC systems).
  13. I can see the OPs point, it is a struggle to make ends meet in the lowbie levels.   If you buy gear, or worse buy gear try to map it in order to make your own stuff (not meaning ammo) then credits disappear quickly and it seems like you never have enough. But be prudent with expenditure and the credit flow is sufficient. Would like to know more details of what this 50k optional mission was difficult to comment without such detail.   It gets easier with the next character as you can just twink some credits and move onwards.
  14. The Net 7 stuff requires minimum dotNet 2.0 and VC run time 2008. There doesn't appear to be the mouse look disable option on your launcher this indicates that the Net 7 folder has not updated. You could click on Launcher, click reset updates and the launcher will attempt to update files again. If that fails, suggest downloading a new Net-7_Install.exe file. Also since you have installed in to C:\E&B you may need to download and run enb-up.exe. The installer would normally run this program (most of the bloat in Net-7_Installer.exe is due to it including this file) but only does so if E&B is installed in the default path.   You might also have to hack the registry to get rid of some quirks in the client i.e.   1 REGEDIT4   2   3 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Westwood Studios\Earth and Beyond\Registration]   4 "Registered"=dword:00000001 You could save that into a file (without the line numbers) call it registered.reg and run it with regedit. The client may otherwise show some sort of ISRB graphic and a sunset thingy. If you see it you'll know what I mean!
  15. Todays patch was a simple one, a few decals added for guild logos I guess. Not enough to break the logins.   I am guessing the login server has gone and FUBAR'd again.   Login OK Character selection OK Entering game ... MSOD (Map Screen of Death)
  16. 1st issue are you running the launcher from the Net 7/bin folder? Gotta run most of programs from the folder they are installed in so in the shell a cd is needed first. 2nd issue may be try a USB mouse if you've got one handy?
  17. Re: The walkthrough thread https://forum.enb-emulator.com/index.php?/topic/8053-xmas-2012-walkthrough/   Quote Shaddex: "PS..  This will be changed on Tuesdays down-time."   A great many characters have been failed by Mary Christmas on the TNBC mission and been denied a snowball launcher. Will this change that Shaddex alluded to allow those characters another chance to run through TNBC and claim the launcher?   My situation, as desribed in the thread linked, was that I ran two characters through TNBC together. I had run another character beforehand through TNBC and verified the responses in step 1-9 and had them all correct and received a launcher (this was LotTS).   LotPP and Lot did TNBC together. Lot made identical responses to LotPP, LotPP got the launcher at the end but Lot was denied one. I am 99.99% certain the respones given were identical. MC's reaction gives me doubt about this though, may be I mis-clicked? Still, its rough justice to not get another chance to get a launcher. I tried with Lot to talk to MC again but all she is interested in now is the Cookies and Milk mission.   Will the patch on Tuesday night (18th December 2012) allow characters another chance to re-run TNBC and obtain a launcher? If not can I request a TNBC mission reset on Lot so that I can repeat it again (have not done Cookies and Milk for the 3 skill points yet).   Thanks for reading.
  18. Well partially emptied hulks or roids could be set to auto-despawn just like a mob corpse. If nothing else, it would help to stop miners whining about cherry picking. It seems like a ritual for miners to whine about it and call each other out for suspicion of cherry picking. It drags the mining part of the community down and indirectly affects everyone else.   TBH I dunno which is worse, the whining about cherry picking or the actual cherry picking but the whining about cherry picking takes up so much of everyones time reading about it again and again on forums, or guild chat, or listening to complaints about it on voice comms. Just to get rid of that I wish the partially picked hulks or roids would despawn.   But miners being miners they'd just complain about something new!
  19. Did this with a PP and PW running through it together. Did the 10 steps of the first mission "The Night Before Christmas", PP got the launcher. PW did exactly what the PP did right beforehand but did not get the launcher! Instead Mary Christmas in the end dialogue of step 9/10 ending up saying something different to my PW.   I am sure my PW did exactly what my PP did in all of the steps 1-9. Its only MC's final dialogue that is causing doubts but I am still 99% certain that my PW chose the same dialogues as my PP did.   PP = LotPP, PW = Lot. No way to get the launcher now? Didn't get an option to repeat TNBC. If my PW talks to MC again I just get the talk tree to begin the Cookies and Milk mission now.
  20.   Which part of Net 7 won't run, the launcher or the proxy?   Launcher -- if you've installed the latest Wine 1.5.19 then the problem is Mono. Mono uses Gecko to render HTML and for a C# program it requires Gluezilla. Most repositories have dropped Gluezilla because it has been left undeveloped and does not compile with current Mono any more. C# programs that render HTML are so outta luck now under Mono.   If the launcher is crashing there is answer. Instead of using Mono for dotNET support start a new prefix and use 'winetricks --unattended dotnet20' to get the minimum dotNET support installed required by the launcher. This should allow you obtain a working launcher.   Proxy -- if you followed this guide then start a new prefix. Do not use winetricks to install crypt32 it doesn't seem like the proxy will work with it. But wine's crypt32.dll does work with the proxy and has the benefit that wine's debug can be turned on to see what is going on with SSL certificates if needed. However, you do need to compile wine yourself making the hack to wininet/netconnection.c to allow Net 7's certificate to pass and install your built version of wine.   Hope this helps.
  21. Stanig you're one to talk! You complain non-stop about stuff, kinda ironic thats your response. And it is no surprise you suggest that jobs need nerfing. The OP was kinda complaing that regular combat is just not worth it any more may be thats due to mobs getting buffed and needing crazy amounts of ammo to kill, their loot tables getting nerfed to make loot not so productive either. Never forget the impact linked mobs have on combat too. But jobs getting nerfed kinda would fall into the nerfing trend that is slowly eating away at what fun is left. Trade runs used to be worthwhile XP for doing them in the STs but got nerfed in to not worth bothering with any more. May be they're not the problem may be its that everything else has become less and less effective for levelling up and rewards. I did a couple of the repeatable Progen missions but I guess I am not into repeatable stuff like that or jobbing either for that matter. I prefer to go shoot stuff even if its difficult and less productive. Might get something useful to map, guess I am ultimately always a builder looking for something to print I haven't already gotten. Trying to slow down everyones levelling is about as futile as trying to make "the economy" work. Eventually, given enough time we'll all be 150 again doing stuff for free. I suppose then there will be some sort of data loss on the server and whoops sorry gotta acidentally wipe everyone! Well, we'll be told it was an accident anyway.
  22. Stanig I wish someone would go out and do your uber-dooper new Progen content just so you stop whining! I will probably get to it in due course on my slow-lane Progens but unfortunately Progens will be the last characters that I end up playing and you know why. All my Terrans and Jenquais will be 150 before that happens. Until then I guess you're gonna keep using the "nobody is doing my Progen content because ..." and attribute it to whatever is flavor of the day. Then expect players behavior to get nerfed into line! Until they do your content ... TBH Your complaining is getting a bit repetitive for those that are keeping note. Players will choose what they wanna do.
  23. We were told that the brackets on Agrippa content were removed. Was this a lie? Or is it another case of broken down communication between you Byakhee and the rest of the staff? Because it seems like actually, really nothing has changed with Agrippa at all. And that is very disappointing because its not what we were allowed to believe. Progens have two choices after the wipe: 1) Go for the end content, ignore the Agrippa content because its a road block to levelling. They will also likely skip the other Progen content too. 2) Slow mode again, just like the STs, alpha and beta. Sadly this involves on and off shelving of their Progens because they can't afford to gain XP because they might move out of the bracket. Oh and there's the other Progen content to do too. Caution level extreme! Or possibly do both at the same time. Two of everything Progen: slow and fast lane. Create two warriors, two privateers, two sentinels -- to do both options. While your end-game Progens are enjoying the end-game content, your slow-lane Progens can do all the middle-game content. But what horrible waste that is! Double characters. Double recipe lists. Double trouble! We all know what needs to be done. And we wished it were being done! Rip out the tokens! We dont need them! Set the minimum requirements for stages I, II and III. Allow Terrans and Jenquai to still receive invites to do stage II only. When a Progen reaches 150 they should be able to return and do stages I, II and III of the Agrippa content. There should be no barriers preventing this. None. If a Progen wants to do Agrippa I, II and III at the earliest requirements that is possible too. And then *importantly* Progens can also take part in the rest of the Progen content without fear of out-levelling the brackets or the need to create multiple warriors, privateers or sentinels just to cover all the content. Right now, the system is the same as before: bad limitations defended with poor excuses.
  24. *Baffled* *Looks at my Progen characters* *Looks at above* *Looks at Agrippa* ... Says to guild members "You first! lemme know how it goes" *shelves Progens* We get told there are no upper limits to Agrippa any more and low and behold! Yes there are. OL135 is still a barrier to being able to do stages I, II and III. Still de-ciphering the rest of Byakhees posts cant decide what they said yet ...
  25. It would be great if it worked. But yah know what certain people would do? Plant five TT alts at each destination, arrive at the destination, group up with alts, exploit buffed up trade XP and sell prices. Be silly not to actually. It worked originally because subscription fees were being paid and more profit for being grouped with TTs = more real life profit from the game.
