Carefullthere
What's going on with the game? No server fixes. No new content. Its hard to donate when there appears to be no progress on either front.
Woodstock HGM [HGM]
there has been a lot of work going on Stability issues and alot of backround fixes and bug squashes 1
Carefullthere
Is there a time table for stability/content? I realize that you folks are volunteers but, without fixes/content it's difficult to attract players/donations. Server population dwindles monthly. Squashing bugs is great but, what good will that do when there aren't enough left to support the game?
oakman
I don't normally write on forums but i really felt like contributing to this topic. It goes without saying that the entire of the emulator team has done a fantastic job of bringing back Earth and Beyond, and there is a lot of appreciation and thanks that perhaps goes unsaid. For each thanks said, there is probably 10 more not said due to people (like myself) who have never really embraced what a good tool a forum can be to express it. I do agree with the original post in that it does feel recently that there isn't anything actually progressing, be it content, bug fixes, network issues etc, but i am also aware that just because its not seen doesn't mean its not happening. I think it would be nice to get some 'work-in-progress' screenshots of things that the players can actually get excited or interested in, like a new item, sector or even just artwork. Not seeing anything just creates a sense of abandonment, and wondering if the love of the project has dissipated. As original poster mentioned volunteering to do this in your own time is well known and perhaps more appreciated than if it was your actual job, as time is more important than any amount of money. But please some information would be greatly appreciated as to what exactly is going on with things. Kind Regards -FFT 1
Kyp [LDEV]
The love of the project has not dissipated. It's just been delayed by people's real lives and jobs for a while. We're actually getting closer to a patch, writing up some missions to go with it and making sure they work so that there's not a bunch of bugs, but yes, we did spend quite a bit of time refactoring a lot of how a number of things worked behind the scenes. When you see the patch note for this patch it will be quite lengthy. At any rate, we've made some breakthroughs and it's coming. I know it seems like I've been saying that forever, but you're not forgotten. However, I would say that if there are any of the mind to be involved in writing missions and/or dialogue they could feel free to seek me out and let me know. We all do have some mild bits of personal lives outside of the project as well so it's nice to be able to do those things from time to time at least.
Zarg
We learned a lot and found a bunch of bugs in the PTR. I eagerly await seeing those fixes propagate back into the live game. It'd help a lot. I wish we could've done more big group raid testing in PTR. I'd forgotten how bad lag can get in big raids like fishbowl. -Z
wmtyrance
It's nice to hear some news on whats going on. I and others worry when we don't hear any news for a while. And we all do love what you guys have done even if we don't say it enough. I do have one question though. Is there any way for us to get a boost in how much XP is gained from doing all things in the game? It just feels so hard to level in a game like this with it's really small player base. Spa[IS]
Level 1 to 150 in 1 to 2 weeks as a single player. (Most it has ever taken me was 4 weeks, I had a week and a 1/2 off) I don't think there needs any adjustment to XP sorry (IMO) Hint : Flying to Mars Sector and using a lvl 1 proto plasma beam at the missile drone nav and grinding to CBT 12. (Approx 2 to 3 hours depending on boredom level) will give 12 CL, approx 12 TL (loot stacks) and depending where you fly from 10 EL. Flying to a Level 50 Job terminal will get you to OL 35 for the explore runs (TL and EL) with combat now and then to stop the boredom. Next, at OL 60 is the Level 75 Terminal Explore jobs with combat in-between. doesn't take long.

WOW..why would we ever take our time to play this game and enjoy the quests and adventures we experience when we can just skip tons of it to be at the bad ass level like you. You have made it very clear that gaming the game is the way to play the game. I hate gamers like you. You are the type that ruined Borderland 3 recently, as well as many games before. You play too hard too fast, and then bitch about bugs and end of game problems. SLOW THE FUCK DOWN. Some of us enjoy the game at the pace it was designed to be played. 1
Spa[IS]
So YOU attack me personally for offering a suggestion for another player who wanted the exp raised because s/he felt hard done by? YOU attack me personally for playing a GAME how I want to? AND state " You play too hard too fast, and then bitch about bugs and end of game problems. " You are stating you know me, SHOW ME WHERE I DO THIS? and YOU use profanity to demand something?
Carefullthere
This post was created to find out game status not for your petty bickering Spa/PirateBands. Take it to another thread.
Spa[IS]
Well excuse me, I answered the post above mine and you didn't mention that post which was about experience. Stay out of something that doesn't concern you, or get all your information right before inserting unwanted comments. if you go thru all this thread and then mention everything that is not about game status, you might get some credibility.

Spa was answering a post from another thread...Spa got confused on what question he was answering..... ?.. below is the question he was trying to answer. Since this is an old game and with a small player base Can you increase the amount of XP we gain from doing all things in the game. It really is hard to level up after say level 70 because of the small amount of XP you get from doing anything in the game. Right now i struggle with jobs that just don't give enough XP to make worth sticking it out with them. Zarg
WoW has items like Heirloom gear that grant xp gain increases to alts for players who already have max level characters. Don't want the accelerated pace? Don't use the xp gain gear! Wonder if such a thing would be appropriate here. Sounds like a subject for a good thread in the suggestions forum. oakman
Bit of a topic bump this, but we are now +1 year of original posting. Any news at all regarding anything being patched in to the game, or are we still on the 'coming soon' stage? Many of my guildees dont log in anymore due to the stagnation that has set in, even those who would log in just to socialise simply dont and its very sad and disheartening for the EnB project in my opinion. So once again, is there anything that can be expected this year in the emulator or even some screenshots of WIP content you guys are working on, so we can at least see some hope? Gullet
Pirate... you should take your own advice and... SLOW THE HELL DOWN Take a min to breath and maybe read the whole thread. If you did, you would realize that Spa is actually doing what you said. He's letting the other player know that xp doesn't need to be increased to speed up leveling. regardless, he was answering someone else's question and there was no reason to personally attack him. So chill dude. Most adults, when they're blatantly wrong, have the decency to apologize. With that said, I would respectfully disagree Spa. There is no robust quest system, so the majority of it, is just a pure grind. I wouldn't do increased xp as a permanent solution, however, I think doing something like bonus xp on weekends wouldn't hurt. It might also bring players back. I know I would probably login more and play again. 1
