  1. I'm curious: is there a level requirement for "Solar Energy for Laymen" According to earlier post, the mission giver is Zachariah Garrett (Dahin). My JS (OL 131 33/48/50 with all builds maxxed) has been doing the missions and when she goes to Zach she gets his standard talk tree. "Hello there! I'm embarking on a grand project. Solar power's the way of the future, don't ya think?" Response options are "Not really" and "Yeah! Could be the next step in evolution" to which he responds "Finally! Someone who understands!" and Done shows up, no further progress available.
  2. I've been having the same problems as well. I just assumed it was a problem with my wifi, but seeing others with the problems and knowing they're not on my network, I'm guessing it's something else
  3. During one of the stress tests I had seen a couple "offensive" names similar to a couple of these, may have even been a couple of these. I in-game pm'd someone on the DEV/GM team (I THINK it may have been AFVet, but not sure) making it clear that while I was not offended I could see how someone could be. I was simply told that whoever it was I had PM'd would "look into it" and never heard anymore about it. No official ticket was made at that time
  4. What I've done in the past is 105 Explore jobs from Earth Station to Pluto/Charon, dock at Charon Cloister and buy the only trade goods they have, back to Earth and sell, repeat all
  5. this again? I could be wrong but I believe the last time this came up the DEV/GM team said they will NOT get involved. The "agreement" was set up by 3 player guilds to split the raids giving the public a week for each raid. Last time I saw a thread on this, I gave up on reading the forums for about a month, because it was nothing but this! I seem to remember, however, that even the ADV's hands were tied, though I don't remember if that was because they were in one of the 3 guilds or if the DEV/GM team included the ADV in their non-partiality clause. Point being, I doubt you'll get any assistance from DEV/GM team on this matter, you've stirred a bee's nest, and the next month or so will probably be "It wasn't me" or "why do we even have this agreement" replies. I guess it's time for another month away from here, we'll see
  6. While I never had dealings with him, I do remember reading (and often agreeing with) his posts here on the forums. I will second DarkkHero's /salute and make a motion that he should be immortalized similar to Yoko in VT, proper placement would be up to those that knew him of course In case I don't say it enough: Thank you to ALL the staff (past, present and hopefully future) for all the work you guys did/do/will do to keep our community alive
  7. it all depends on your play style. Pre-wipe I played a JS as my main, and did pretty good, post-wipe my JE's been my main and my JD's my secondary. This time around I've found that I depend on the shield leech/energy leech skills and when I play my JS solo I run out of energy (a problem I didn't have when my JS was my main). If I could remember what I did differently pre-wipe I'd share it, but I do still like my JS, she just has to travel with either the JE or JD.
  8. My JE completed the mission with Build Devices 1. Unless things have changed since the mission was put in, that's not a prerequisite
  9. thank you Zackman! Your assistance is very much appreciated
  10. just tried /gc makeleader <Name> Didn't work for me, keep getting in chat box "Guild: Invalid command." I've tried grouping with my intended "heir to the throne", I've tried targeting him, I've tried removing the space between gc and makeleader, I've even tried going to Net-7.org to see if maybe the command to promote to Founder was there now, I don't know what else to try
  11. Somewhere in a closet I've got a Compaq Armada M700, it plays the game as long as you don't leave the station. Beyond that I've got a couple laptops bought from pawn stores, most are slowish but can handle the game
  12. It's behind you! Sorry, I know it's no help, but couldn't resist the fart joke
  13. I realize real-life and other things have precedence, but I AM curious what Redkite managed to find on this mission (assuming, of course, he's had the time. If not, no biggie, I don't plan on repeating the mission)
  14. I was rather tired when I was recalculating, you're probably right *edit: you are correct, I was looking at the buy price for the 3 Scale shields, not the manufacture price. Updated total manufacturing costs = 14,850,490, total mission cost = 40,583,810. The 20 million I gave Magoo covered the manufacturing cost and gave him a bit extra
  15. one other thing I forgot to mention, Vinda kept calling my JE Progen Explorer, maybe this mission was intended for PS only?
  16. having recently done the lvl 9 version of this repeatable mission, I have to wonder if this mission was put in as an answer to people saying credits are worthless... First Vinda wants 5 lvl 9 SH-X6 "Doberman" Mk. IX, which to save time I went to Earth Station and bought them from Jorge Montez (5 x 2,838,044 = 14,190,220), I brought them back to Vinda, she wanted them taken to Havyair Amen-Tol on Arx Ymir. Havy tells me Vinda's got a special request for me.... oookay. Back to Vinda. She now wants 10, TEN!, Diamond Scale shields (because everyone and their brother has 10 Diamond Scale shields just collecting dust in their vaults, right?). Diamond Scales just happen to be the last in a line of three (lvl 7 Ivory, lvl 8 Platinum and finally lvl 9 Diamond). The lvl 7 has two loot/PM only components (fortunately I happened to have enough of both on a vault toon) and one that's sold at vendor: Evolver GenR8 MX (134,909 x 10 = 1,349,090). The lvl 8 upgrade component is Evolver PowR6 (286,152 x 10 = 2,861,520). The lvl 9 component is Quark Vinculum Mark X (733,249 x 10 = 7,332,490). Vendored component costs alone for the special request = 11,543,100... but that's not all, there's manufacturing costs too. The lvl 7 manufacturing cost without Negotiate is 474,635 x 10 = 4,746,350. The lvl 8 is 1,255,300 x 10 = 10,255,350 and the lvl 9 is 3,281,106 x 10 = 32,811,060. Total manufacturing costs = 47,812,710 (Magoo, if you happen to read this I owe you an apology and at least another 32 million, I miscalculated somewhere when I thought 15 million would cover it) Combined costs for this mission: 14,190,220 (5 Dobermans)+ 11,543,100 (vendored components)+ 47,812,710 (manufacturing costs) = 73,546,030, not counting loot/PM only components or tipping a builder if you can't build the Diamond Scale Rewards = 1000 Sabine faction, 50,000 Explore and 50,000 Trade xp, 0 credits *edit: These prices were all from Net-7 Database and not reflecting any deductions from Negotiate*
  17. I'm just curious, why would someone who's leveled up enough to get lvl 6 cloak be flying around with a level 3 or 4 reactor? Also, look at the recharge rates of your 3-4 reactor and whatever reactor you normally use. I'm willing to bet the higher level reactor fills in that brief amount of time
  18. Admittedly, it's been a while since I ran my Jenquai trio through this mission, so things may have changed. You should only have to scan each derelict once, when I did it the scan button disappeared after scanning (previous stress tests, all you had to do was go to Pax Crudalis and scan, but that was then this is now). Anyway, on to the second problem listed above, the Paradi Maru... never heard of her, there's a Pentine Maru, maybe that's what you're looking for? Anyway, unless you've changed it in game via Options>Control, target nearest object should be the x button which you can cycle next in context (d button) or cycle previous in context (c button) unfortunately Jupiter has a lot of objects (moons, hidden navs, minables, etc etc). One last thing, I don't know if the site owner is still keeping it up to date or not, but enbmaps.de is very useful for finding hidden navs like all the wreckages you're looking for.
  19. Probably too much to ask, but will/can there be a warning of who's set to buck the kicket? I was introduced to pre-Sunset Live just a few months before EA decided to pull the plug so I missed a LOT of the original story line, plus you guys have added much to the game, so there may be story line missions I may have missed. My Jenquai triplets all have DT access and I'm not all that concerned with my PW, he's just around to shoot stuff when I'm bored, but I really don't know what all I've missed out on.
  20. Wow, Woodstock, prayers are with ya. On a lighter note: $10,000 a bottle? When I broke my neck and got my itemized hospital bill I thought I was worth a lot of money because of the titanium plate ($4000) and 4 titanium screws ($1000 each) overall bill was $56k after overpriced Tylenol, surgery and everything, and that was the cheap route because they thought I had no insurance. You're worth $10,000 x however many bottles are getting used + previous treatments, you got me beat!
  21. I know that this is an old post AND Merlin (Lars) is now Inactive Staff, but I am now searching for Boronite which is NOT in Crystalline Asteroids, it's in glowing asteroids. Can anyone update where the best place to find Boronite is?
  22. I won't go into details about how the exploit worked w/o the staff's permission, but this particular one I discovered by accident last weekend, thought it might have been a fluke or maybe I wasn't paying attention to what I thought I was doing, didn't play again until this weekend and to be sure I repeated the process and called for a GM or DEV.  Blacklung told me to inform our Player Advocate of the process, Cimbad was able to duplicate it and this is where we are.  In retrospect I can see how someone could have made a s*** ton of credits or even duplicated rare ores and sold them.  I'm sorry to see the /craft command go, but this particular exploit could be (possibly has been) very detrimental to a game I love so I'm not sorry I reported it.
  23. call it a poll then cimbad, getting the general public's opinion would be a good thing.  Not all, but MOST of the "leave it as it is" replies I've seen are members of the big three so you pretty much know what they're going to answer.  Which leads to the question, are there enough people NOT in the big three to show a possible need for change?  No offense intended, but I'm glad I'm not in your "non-elected post" to have to find a way to count big three vs public votes.   BTW I seem to recall that there WAS an election but there was something about not enough votes or something?  Seems after every U.S. Presidential election I hear something along the lines of "Don't fail to vote then threaten to secede when things don't go your way"
  24. So I did the missions with all three of my main toons, received these as rewards all was working as planned.  I had no intention of using these items (which is a good thing since they were Progen Only and my 3 toons are Jenquai) so I thought "well, I'll just sell 'em."  Ehhhh... Wrong answer!  Not Tradable means I can't even sell it to a vendor  which means I either destroy them which seems like a waste after doing these missions or hold on to two pieces of equipment I can never use.  Of course I never thought of this waste until AFTER destroying my JD's and JE's rewards, but my JS still has them and I'm going to be stubborn enough to hold on to them because I EARNED them!    Still for future non-Progens doing these missions there should be some kind of alternate award imho OR make the missions Progen Only to fit the reward
  25. Have to agree with Mattsacre on this one GHB, if it was guaranteed that there would be an AA at the same field every time there was a server restart it was NOT working as intended and those that knew about it SHOULD have reported it
