  1. It's slightly OT but I wanted to note that in the last several days I've noticed the behavior of the sig-maker (specifically the update process) has been greatly enhanced. Kudos and thanks.
  2. Doesn't that make him a *watch* salesman?
  3. Same as every year . . . not kill anyone. Been mostly successful.
  4. I believe there are two Vail's. I remember running into this before (quite some time ago) and wondering why my mission (different from yours) wouldn't update even though I was at Vail. When I re-read my mission log to see that I was at the wrong Vail (the one in Odin Rex) and went to the correct one listed in my log it worked. I can't recall for certain, though, if it was Odin's Belt.
  5. Isn't this something that you could check out and report on with numbers you observe? If your char on the PTR server doesn't have all this equipment that could make it difficult, of course, but if that char is relatively current and does have all the equipment in question (and maybe somebody could fresh-copy it for you if it isn't) . . . ? You can then change your loadouts and use the / cmds to alter your beam weps skill lvl.
  6. IMO this is more the result of the (currently) skewed economy. If credits were an actual concern then folks would look to buy ores from miners first instead of just ripping them from comps.
  7. You don't dock at any of the shipyards. What typically happens is once you get to the Shipyards and click on it a window should open with dialogue, usually mentioning a fee to pay for the hull upgrade.
  8. Just for snicks I disconnected by broadband and tethered to my Evo 4G. Worked great.
  9. I don't know who is proposing that random mob loot needs to be sold to specific vendors - certainly not me, and I don't see anybody else proposing it either. Where did you see this? I was specifically addressing TRADE GOODS that are dropped by mobs and their place in a system where Trade XP is tweaked to be driven by profit vs. sale price.
  10. Making campaign promises is never hard. Keeping them, well that's a different story.
  11. My first thought is that, yes, if we move to a profit-based measurement then the sale price of a looted item should be 100% profit and that is what the XP should be based upon. However, that is assuming that the item in question is being sold to a Trade vendor that is actually interested in the item in question - not some random component/weapons/equipment vendor.
  12. I'm not sure about this. Determining profit would require the game to log the purchase price (if the item was even purchased, more on that later) for later reference for each item to compare to the sale price at sell time. I don't have access to the code so I'm clearly just guessing but I can't see that happening. And what of the items that weren't purchased - there are/were a fair number of trade goods that dropped from mobs - how is profit calculated from these when a player makes the effort to sell them to the appropriate vendor? I have no philosophical objection to the XP being indexed to profit vs. sell price, I'm just not certain the mechanics are in the game to support it.
  13. Yes, and it works quite well now - almost insta-response. Prior to the fix I was finding that update attempts just resulted in the "spinning" doohickey (tech term alert!) remaining in spin mode indefinitely.
  14. Hmm, I did? Okies, I may need to reference this post in the future should said bonus mission not be available. Anywhoo, thanks for the research and feedback.
  15. Having completed the (oh my it's looong!) mission with Architecti Tellum with my Progen Trader JarodPT I figured I'd tempt the fates (again) and go see Vinda as indicated by the Centuriata Note was available to me - a Privateer at OL 55 with an optional mission token. Basically, Vinda won't talk to me other than her usual crazy sing-song. I made sure I had the optional mission token in my hold (originally had it in vault) but still the same non-engaging talk-tree. Centuriata Note listed the requirement as needing Critical Targeting Lvl 3 and this char has CT Lvl 4. Is that a problem - being over the stated level? I was assuming that was a minimum level. Of course it could be something else, too. Any guidance appreciated, thank.
  16. Right - which is why I was wondering why it was moved to the Progen section.
  17. Database lists cosmetics as being sold by both Jess Edarte at Somerled and Ralla Sertris at Mercury Station - but at the moment they are only found at Mercury Station.
  18. I don't believe Travelmate is intended to be exclusively Progen content. I believe the notes were made indicating that one of the *new* chartypes (PP) had been added - and there's an indication that other, non-Progen, new chartypes will be added.
  19. Thanks. And further thanks to Growlz who traded me a bunch of worm bits for a stack of Rifle Plasma ammo. To any other Progen that get stuck on this mission before the worm bits start dropping please send me (or any of my various Jarodxx alt's) a message in-game and I'll share them with you.
  20. So I went to Arx Magister, spoke to Collegia Note, and saw I had missions available to me. Cool. Figured I'd start with the closer one by heading to Norstrand Vor City and talking to Architecti Telum. I gave Telum a token, he gave me a mission - go get 5 "Worm Bits". Well, there be worms outside the NVC station but those don't appear to be the right ones as they weren't dropping any worm bits. Checked the (new) database and found that there are indeed Worm Bits listed as being dropped - but from mobs that, to my knowledge, only drop in Mars Alpha. That's a tough place for a Progen Trader to get into. However, not one to give up easily, I figured maybe I could press my PW into service to go do this for me. After killing LOTS of Alpha worms (Betas aren't listed in the drop on dbase) not a single "Worm Bits" drop. So - I'm hoping that the Worm Bits are dropping somewhere and I'm not looking in the right place. Any help there? If, however, I am looking in the right place then why aren't they dropping? As a follow on to that question - why would a mission for a PP require them to go to an area that they can not access? Any help is, of course, quite appreciated. Thanks. Edit - this was for my OL 55 Privateer JarodPT.
  21. After some quick interaction I have to say this is a very nice improvement - the usability is greatly enhanced. Thank you Slayerman (though I do miss the mob locations, even though I understand the reason for their removal).
  22. Agree 100%. For those that are curious, I believe this is the statement in question - taken from the Net 7 Entertainment Code of Conduct: 12. Players may not "poach" or "ninja-loot". The very fact that the terms themselves are in quotes, to me, means that they are begging for a definition. As it is it's left to the players to determine, via guessing, what exactly constitutes poaching or ninja-looting. If, as Psio indicates he was told by SoldierTS, ANY looting of a mob corpse that was killed by someone else - after the timer expires - qualifies then one is left to ask . . . why the heck is there even a timer? Just lock the corpse/loot to the party that killed it. Period - no more drama. It's ridiculous to have the system set up in the current manner - with different timers for exclusive looting rights vs corpse expiration - if it sets someone up for a TOS violation.
