  1. I can see this as EXTREMELY valuable for dumping refined ores on my TS. If all miners dump their ores here, component builders will actually have access to a good supply of ores (without leaving F7 or dual boxing!) Might even motivate me to train a component builder This of course, would require the community to only buy ores (particularly high level, rarer ores) when they are using them to build. A few people deciding to monopolize and buy up all the ores could really kill this sort of thing.
  2. The game already shows the purchase price (with Negotiate and other factors included) on the tooltip, the only issue is flagging the item as looted or purchased. The game already tracks this for combat loot to determine if you should get trade XP for selling or trading, so it should not be difficult to implement. You can even stack purchased components with looted ones and the game knows how many of them to award trade XP for.
  3. Selling Research equipment with a wormhole at Fenris netted 900 XP each and 1700 XP without the wormhole. Selling Nanobots back at Somerled netted 1100 XP each with a wormhole and 2100 XP without. Back when I had Negotiate 5, it was 1100 XP (with WH) and 2000 XP (without WH) for Nanobots. I forget the numbers for Research Equipment, but I do remember that Negotiate 6 did not increase XP gain when using a wormhole, but did when not using one. Also, the JE Taxi got 260 XP for each Research Equipment with Wormhole at Fenris, and I did not test Nanobots for the way back. Item | Quality | Purchase Price | Sale Price | Profit | Trade XP Fenris/Somerled: Research Equipment/Nanobots Nanobots | 100% (No WH) | 1,502 | 3,163 | 1,661 | 2,100 | 50% (WH) | 1,502 | 1,581 | 79 | 1,100 | 25% (WHx2) | 1,502 | 790 | -712 | 174 Research Equipment | 100% (No WH) | 973 | 2,304 | 1,331 | 1,700 | 50% (WH) | 973 | 1,152 | 175 | 900 | 25% (WHx2) | 973 | 576 | -397 | 46 This chart reflects data collected tonight at TL 44; my previous data was collected at TL 43. Trade goods sold at the wrong vendor or at the wrong station never resulted in gaining Trade XP. Edit: Added chart.
  4. Trade goods take quality loss from wormholes in order to prevent people from using wormholes for their trade runs. The fact that Negotiate allows Fenris/Somerled runs to yield Trade XP at almost 3 times the normal rate means that the mechanic is not working as intended and could be considered an exploit. Maybe it technically isn't an 'exploit' but you get the idea.
  5. I did a little bit of testing and came up with the following, adding in some Prasad runs just as a basis of comparison. I was a TT with 36 cargo spaces, trade level 43, 6 points in Negotiate, with 4.3k warp. I didn't necessarily carry a full cargo load with me each time, but multiplied the amount to get the values for a full load. Trade route | Round trip time | Trade XP | Profit | % of level | Avg. time to level Fenris/Somerled: Research Equipment/Nanobots Without Wormhole | 33 Minutes | 136,800 | 107,568 | Appx. 46% | 72 Minutes With Wormhole | 6 Minutes | 72,000 | 9,288 | Appx. 24% | 25 Minutes Prasad/Somerled: Spices/Jenquai Weapons Technology Without Wormhole | 10 Minutes | 64,800 | 43,272 | Appx. 22% | 45 Minutes With Wormhole | 5 Minutes | 4,032 | -3,348 | Appx. 1.4% | 365 Minutes Prasad/Somerled: Weapons Crates/Jenquai Weapons Technology Without Wormhole | 10 Minutes | 57,600 | 38,556 | Appx. 20% | 50 Minutes At level 43 it appears that wormhole for Prasad runs is not worthwhile, however at lower levels it might yield better XP. Obviously, if you are going to wormhole, you should do Fenris/Somerled runs. I also believe that this exploit depends on having Negotiate, as the JE I used as a taxi got significantly less trade XP when I would wormhole. I did not test any of the routes on the JE without wormhole.
  6. My TT has level 6 Negotiate and I frequently use WH to do Fenris runs. It seems to be the fastest trade XP available, as I can get about a Trade level every 15-20 minutes or so, at TL40+. One thing I have noticed in doing this is that the trade XP that you receive is based on the sell price of the item, NOT THE PROFIT EARNED. Example: I buy Nanobots (L5) from Fenris at 1502 credits each. I WH to Carpenter, warp to Somerled and sell 50% quality goods back for 1581 credits (79 credit profit) and receive 1100 Trade XP. If I were to do this trade run the long way, I would receive 3163 credits (1661 credit profit) and 2100 Trade XP. I recently WH'd twice and sold the 25% quality goods for 790 credits (712 credit loss) and received 260 Trade XP. If I remember in live, whenever you sold a trade good at it's appropriate station, the dialog said something about the PROFIT that was earned, rather than how many credits you were selling the item for, and your trade XP was based upon this number. Obviously the current system is not looking at profit but sale price. I think that the trade XP that can be earned for doing a trade run without a wormhole is balanced as is, but allowing XP to be earned for little profit, or loss, should not continue as it is. Edit: Correction on 'long run' XP earned.
  7. Before I discovered the EnB Emulator, I used to play WoW. I did a lot of theory craft, and always would plan my various builds and bookmark them for quick access in my browser. It would be really neat to be able to do the same here! In most online talent calculators for WoW, there is a persistent URL that changes every time you add or remove a talent point. Would it be at all possible to implement this in some way for the EnB character planner? Also, the TS planner is still really buggy, would be nice if it could be fixed. Thanks!
  8. The Sig generator works fine, but yes, you have to completely refresh the page in order to see the changes. If you update and then look at your sig on the forums you will see the changes did in fact take effect. There is one issue though, the TS signatures are using the outdated ranks instead of the new ones that are in the game. Please correct this, Illiana is a Ranger, not a Sergeant Major, thanks.
  9. As long as you still get the skill points for it, I would not mind deleveling every now and then. So you can include any of my characters in that if you want
  10. I think I saw you in game already, but on Win7, you have to run the launcher in Admin mode. Also, if you use the EA configuration tool to edit screen resolution, etc, you also need to run that in Admin mode for the changes to stick, unless you also run the launcher in non-Admin mode. Not using Admin mode can introduce some weird behavior and will have issues with patching, etc. If you want to dual (or triple) box with multiple accounts, make sure you are running the game in Windowed mode, via the EA configuration tool also. That will allow you to tab between them quickly without forcing an OS context switch each time you do (which always takes forever). Good luck and welcome back
  11. So the way I understand it, if a corpse is assigned to me and I inspect it, and then deselect, all loot on it is now free for all, right? I think this could be changed such that if you are in a group, any group member can loot it within the remaining restriction time, and then free for all after until it explodes. If you are not in a group, it would remain unchanged. There should also be a way to set group free for all where non group members are still restricted for the duration of the set time, but any group member could loot it without the assigned looter necessarily having to inspect it first. I like the idea of increased restiction/despawn times, but maybe just give the group leader an option to increase restriction/despawn time (a check box that adds 5 minutes or something) would be helpful, but you would keep off if you are just farming faction.
  12. It seems like no matter what class you play, except possibly for explorers who know where the good mining is, eventually you are stuck doing jobs at some point in the leveling process in order to continue. Warrior classes need to level exploration/trade to keep their levels balanced for shield/device/reactor tech, and so on. But doing jobs ends up being sitting for 10 minutes or longer waiting to get a full set that go in the same direction (or waiting on jobs, period), and then the job takes very little time and effort, especially if you have wormholes available to you. To me, this isn't what makes for a fun game or leveling process. Someone has already suggested 30 step missions to raise faction levels such as for the Red Dragons to make the grind less painful, even if not less time consuming. I think this is an excellent idea, and I think could be applied to leveling experience as well. I think that the leader of your particular class should offer missions, appropriate to your level range (in line with what the optimal job terminal level is for you) and would offer 3 missions of that range at a time, a combat oriented mission, an explore oriented, and a trade oriented. These missions would involve large amount of travel all over the galaxy, but would have somewhat high payouts in experience. They should give all 3 types of experience each, but over 60% in the category that corresponds to the mission. The objective of each step could be random or predetermined, as far as location is concerned, and the entire 30 step mission should be repeatable, allowing you to choose whichever orientation (combat/explore/trade) each time. Perhaps even allow taking a different faction's 30 step quest, and reward small to moderate amounts of faction over the whole course of the mission, but only allowing 1 such mission, regardless of faction, at any time. This allows you to grind out your leveling experience in a similar fashion to job terminals, without having to compete with other players or waiting around, so that it feels like you are constantly engaged in doing something with some sort of purpose, instead of mindlessly waiting on jobs, wormholing and returning to get new ones before the terminal has even reset
  13. My buddy's PW got to level 24 yesterday and needed some rifles, so I took my CL 25 TS, Illiana, out to Primus Planet to farm the L33 Centuriata to get a few l6's to analyze and disassemble for my TT. I kill one and get a drop after kiting for about 5 minutes (not really) and as I'm flying in circles, I see a Merchant Prince farming all the Centuriata there. I send him a message asking for any L6 Rifles he happened to have and be willing to sell so what does he do? Fills up my cargo hold with L6 Rifles, L8 Rifles and Mortars, a few misc reactors and devices, and then asks me to make sure there wasn't anything else I needed, like L5 and L6 Xbows. Do I need any more reason to play this game instead of other games that might have more content? Nope. Thanks Raaf
  14. I don't remember my experiences from Live all that much, but I do remember my TE that I used to do basic missile kiting with (I think I barely reached OL 100 back then) and it wasn't all that exciting. However, EnB was my first ever MMO, and I didn't understand very much about theorycraft, specialization, group dynamics, class roles, etc, so I probably had no idea what I was doing or how to do it well. Now, I have been playing a TT and a TS and let me tell you, kiting as a TS with missiles and lightning fast thrusting engines (and intentionally high signature) with even just 1 group member is lots and lots of fun. My friend has a JE and I will gather up an entire mining area and let the JE pick one target off me at a time. We then commence the obliteration, and we keep our mining areas safe with no risk of damage whatsoever I've even gotten good at running the mobs away, ninja'ing an asteroid, and escaping before they get in weapon range. Sooooo much fun.
  15. Not a manufacturing terminal issue, but I get bad opcodes, lag, and null items from most vendors, sometimes causing windows to kill the proxy and asking me if I want to debug. It has happened on my TT Rastalin, my TS Illiana, and my baby JD Thorndarien. Edit: Added SS of proxy crash from weapon vendor on Thorndarien.
