1. Hmm I hardly understood anything you had to say through all the tears and rage you were spewing. Your just mad you did not get the engine to map. I did not get the engine to map either and you dont see me raging in the forums. Cool your jets and remember that this is only Stress Test #4, not even in Alpha stage. If the Dev's did remove the engine from the peoples build list, then logic states they should remove everything that anyone has in their build list that is not dropping or was not suppose to drop. Example, Brimstone Ballista a mainstay for the PW. You remove this and OMG you will find all the PW's rageing. So with your logic the Dev's should remove this weapon from inventories and build list's. Sorry but not happening. Think of this drop as a "Limited Offer" mapped engine. If you would like one built ask around and someone will build it. Parts are dropping for this engine. Dont whine and scream because you did not get it mapped, be happy you can play and leave it at that.
2. A Dev will have to look into this, they may have a solution to your problem, I think there is a custom client patch that Kyp released, that might fix your problem. Be patient one of them will see this.
3. Couple of things: Place Client.exe and Net7proxie.exe on admin mode. If you can put the whole folders on admin, if thats possible, I dont personally know because I use XP. Next after you open Net7 updater goto Launcher->Reset updates on the top left. Let the system scan and update as necessary. You should be able to get in after this.
4. Nope no way. The way the game is set up you have to click agree every time you get into game, I think it is hard coded but i could be wrong. I too hate it as well but its one of those annoying things you have to just do.
5. Have you tried to force update? There may be a file changed that the update system has not tagged.
6. The game itself is quite complete however they are still working on it. There are of course bugs but playability its quite done. The Mob AI's are not fully working as intended but they are getting closer getting them working each and every day, most AI's for the Mob's are generic, alot do not use skills and some skills dont work correctly to effect the Mob's. As far as the classes working, flying, mining, and fighting its a working game. Of course you do need to remember that the game is still in Stress Test mode, not quite Alpha stage but its a far cry from when they started. All the server code is custom made, and there is stuff in game that did not exist during live. One such thing is the final 3 classes were opened up and you can play them, some are not fully complete as far as skills but they are quite balanced. As far as an opinion on whether how complete the game is right now is a matter of opinion, and the Dev's will and have thrown a surprise here and there as far as ballancing and such but their main goal is to make the game as close to live as possible with a few new things added, one other thing they are working on is new sectors that were not in the game before. Im sure a Dev will be here to clarify alot more. Welcome and try it out for yourself I think you will be surprised at just how far they have come in such a short time.
7.
While I do agree it could make things more fun for those of us who are not just gettign started. Imagine being that new player going for their first Somer/Fen run. They load up at Somer, and plod along all the way to Fen, only to find out that all of us old hands had already saturated the market there, and their cargo is now worth squat. Not really the best way to encourage new players to join in.
You have a great point, however I do think his idea has merit and with a few tweaks could bring much needed life into trade runs. One such tweak could be base it off individual rather than the group, and since we would base it off the individual the cap amount would be a much smaller amount, say 200 units. In this way you would not kill the new run smell but could help with encouraging people to research into what they buy and would make it so there is no definite money maker.
8. There already is a thread for these questions about the server being down, Link here: Server Status ,however from what I gather it is down and has been for some time.
9. I have heard alot of talk in game and in forums about this, here is a quote from CDel from another thread:
That raises a good point: attended macroing is allowed and I see no problem with it. Anything a macro can do, a human can typically do faster and better (excepting chat spamming of course).
The policy may have changed but attended macros might be allowed from what I get from Cdel above. However I thought I saw another thread that stated no macroing was allowed, think it was kyp, but I could not find it at a quick glance.
10.
Once upon a time there was a SEGA game called 10six mmo fpsrpg that was amazing at its time. Sega started to lsoe money and figured they would sunset the project and move on to cell phone games (LOL) somehow a lead dev saw the community uproar and the game has been revived with a new name and its pretty much the exact same game minor graphics tweaks to change soemthing a lil bit long story short he is doing what you guys do alone and manages with a subscription fee and what not a month and Sega hasn't looked at him once. Game is called project visitor and hes theMartian
Sounds to me he bought the rights to the game if he is allowed to charge a subscription fee, this is the only way that I know of to get around such a legal issue.
11. Ok so you got compatibility mode on, so next question would be, do you have Client.exe and Net7proxy.exe on admin mode as well? This might solve your problem.
12. Ive only seen this "monster mask" issue once before with a guild mate, deals with corrupted files. You will need to reinstall EnB. As far as the login issues and such there are other threads out there with similar issues, but basic run down is you need to place Client.exe and Net7proxy.exe in admin mode and WinXP compatibility mode, it will allow your system and game run properly.
13.
In addition to the last post, group trade bonuses in-station don't work as the members of the group are not seen as being in the same location. Don't remember if there were manufacturing or refining bounuses when group memebers were docked but if they do exist, they don't work either.
Zyg I have to disagree with ya on the manufacturing bonus given while in group. While it dont show a increase in success percentage it does give you a bonus. I have tested this many times with the same item that was built and it does effect how often you get a 200% item built. Unless it has broken recently it should still give that bonus. However I think that the increased bonus percentage should show in terminal but thats another tweak they can work on later.
14. A Language filter is in my opinion a waste of resources that could be put somewhere else. Its funny to me a few people that have been caught by other players using vulgar language are all for the filter, does no one else see the irony? Its simple, watch what you say and there wont be a need to use a filter, any case like a few have said, you can easily put 2 and 2 together to get 4. Its a waste of time and resources and should not be even needed. If you feel you need to say vulgar things, get up, go afk, take a break and cool down before you play again. Simple. I personally think a language filter is a extra wall people can use as a excuse. Most people that abuse them tend to say: "Hey I should be able to swear because there is a filter in place and if they have it off its their problem not mine." I am not saying that there is not accidental slip ups and those cannot be forgiven, I have been guilty of it and someone did correct me. I thanked them for it, apologized and have since policed myself so that a slip up does not happen again. What I am saying is everyone that plays must police what they say because you never know who might be on the receiving end. If everyone watched what they say there would not even be a suggestion of a language filter. There is no need for it, and a language filter does not filter out everything.
15. Think this is the Thread you are looking for. New Player Help This has job locations and levels for them. Added link for Resource section also. Here
16. I would assume there is a L3 upgrade to that shield, you could have someone upgrade to the L3 then tear down to L2 that way you can map or dismantle it yourself because it would turn into a mappable item once torn down again.
17. Not to hash on you but this is not even a "Live" game yet, they are still working on all the missions and other essential things to make this a full game. As it sits it is not even a full game but perhaps a taste of what the game will be when they do get done. I wont argue that some things are frustrating and annoying at time when things get changed around like this but I think they all are trying to make it the way we want, but this whole thing takes time and complaining about each and every thing they change or do will not help move it along any faster. Edit: I do agree that people should get a "Add-on" Quest when they log in were they can get the extra content they have added in each update, this would solve a bunch of the problems with people having missed newly added content.
18. Legally its impossible to do "In-game buying" of any sort, It would be viewed as a potential profit maker and would endanger the entire project, not to mention EA getting wind of it. Donations right now is the only way to make the money to run the server right now legally.
19.
I know to some this may sound like sacrilege, but you may be able to better save the game if you considered micro transactions to buy boosters or some ingame items for donations. I play on a Classic World of Warcraft server thats great fun that sells ingame items to pay for their server. Before the I get put up on the cross for mentioning it, have a look at their operation here. http://vanillagaming.org/ Take some time to see how they run donations if your interested. Even voting for the server to gain it publicity on another site can land members a few ingame gold. I will start donating next payday no matter what. I don't want to lose E&B again. I played the original from phase 4 beta to the day the servers were turned off. To the very last minute. This game is to good to let slip away forever. Just trying to help.
Sorry to say but this is an impossible Idea. There have been several Ideas that have been similar to this however it is not legal at all. Does not matter if this Vanilla gaming server is doing it or not, they are legally in the wrong and if they were ever found out for doing so they would get sued big time. Most EULA's are generic in the fact that no Emulator project is allowed to make a profit in any way, nor are they allowed to sell "In Game Products" to support their server. One WoW emulator server did exactly this and was burned so bad they had to shut down and the "Owner" was charged with like 20-50 million dollar fine for selling in game items and making a profit. We do not want this type of spot light on this project at all. In my honest opinion the advertising idea is borderline but it should not cause a big issue as long as its website only (Forum) and not directly on the launcher itself. Not alot of people realize how serious a issue these Ideas can be, the Emulator project developers have to walk a fine line while maintaining the server. If anyone has any questions about it you should read the EULA that you accept every time you get into the game. Dont take this as me burning you, I have been through alot of emulator projects and through alot of forums dealing in this issue and it dont matter what game you play all the EULA's are the same when it comes to this, Just repeating myself to the whole not just to you. My 2 cents
20.
relax mate! take a chill pill! **seventh cup of coffee and counting** why does this have to happen?? i was only going to spank the birdies in antares....hope the devs are not finding a shoft-corner for the birdies these days.... UmaXX
Speaking of Anteres Frontier have you noticed the "birds" have thinned out? I went there a few days ago and its devoid of half the population that was there before....
21. In my Honest Opinion Norton is Evil and worthless. I stopped using that anti-virus software long ago for 3 reasons: 1) Scans take 10 times longer than any other scanner out there, you can sit all day just scanning a 100 gig hard drive. 2) Uses insane amounts of CPU power and Ram. Simply not worth it when there are better virus scanners out there for cheaper and some that are free like mine. 3) Does not find half the viruses that it should. My avira Anti-Vir anti-virus (Which is free) found 20 more viruses on a test computer than Norton and took care of them with ease. This was a computer that someone asked me to fix and I used both virus scanners each in turn. There are other better anti-virus programs out there and if I were you I would get rid of it and find yourself a different one. Ive also found Norton gives more false positives than any other program out there as well.
22. Jarod has a point, If someone was harassing someone then it should be reported, not given a second chance. I personally have not been online much to see any of the apparent crap that has been going down of late but that person you were complaining about agreed to the same EULA that everyone else here has, does not matter if that EULA is 1 year or 10 years old it still applies. True this person, and probably at least 50% of the people here, have not even took the time to read that EULA that they click accept to but that does not mean since this is a Emulator project that it does not apply to them. I dont take offensive language or harassment in my Guild nor should I have to put up with it in other chat channels either, If you do not report the problem then you are allowing this person to do it again to someone else, simple as that.
23.
I have a idea to help with the economy and to get enough money to pay for the server and upgrades, to keep the game running. My idea is to do like the Japanese games online, such as perfectworld.com. We should have a special type money that you have to buy through earth and beyond emulator with real money. Eg: they sell Zen at ten dollars U.S. per 1000 Zen. You can only buy special items with Zen. Then this way the only way to get the uberloot is to either buy Zen (Special $$$) in game and people will can trade credits for, (Special $$$). I know the programmers may have a hard time with this but it would be beneficial to both server and players, it would help to even out extra credits and a wipe may not be needed. P.s. Just my thought, follow something that works. The game I was playing was http://boi.perfectworld.com/
Sorry to burst your bubble but this is a major Lawsuit waiting to happen. If the Dev's were to do what you suggest then EA can target this project and sue the pants off the Dev's before you can say "Mississippi". All the server problems and the Donation problems would be solved with one answer "Project Shut Down". You may not know this but with any emulator project the Dev's do not own the game. They did not make the game or software that drives it, only the server code they designed. EA could if they wanted to come in and tear this project apart and make it so it never comes back out, Ever. Correct me if im wrong but technically the EULA states no one is allowed to make a emulator with the intent of gaining profit from said project. On a side note I think the EULA also states that no one is allowed to make a emulator period but since the game is abandon-ware its a technicality. In closing there have been others that have had this idea, while alot have merit its just not feasible due to the risk of a Lawsuit. An example would be a WOW Emulator project (Dont remember the name) that got sued because they were making a profit on it by charging people for special skill, weapons, credits, extra... They got burned so bad that the company was folded and the owner was charged like 5 million dollars (Dont remember exact number might have been alot more than this).
Tell the playerbase that there will not be another playerwipe and I bet they will start paying more attention to their credits in versus their credits out. Also, add a vendor who will for credits, increase the quality on an item by 1%, therefore tah-da -> credit sink!
Player wipes will be inevitable, hate to say it but this is only a stress test 4, however the dev's have said that they will try not to do a wipe if they can help it. More than likely a wipe will probably happen in or shortly before Alpha-Beta-Live, so between 1 to 3 more wipes till we wont have to worry about it.
24. Increasing the vault size wont help anyone much IMO. I myself have 3 alt Vaults: -Storage for old Weapons/Ammo Samples `For Guild Needs` -Storage for L7-9 ores `For Guild Build Needs` -Storage of Ammo Comps `Fishbowl Comps For Guild Needs` The thing is my vault would have to be at least doubled to just get rid of my ore vault alone, and even then i probably would still use it for ore. I hate clutter Anyway I think the vault size is good enough for the players needs, unless you wanted to store every single ore type from L1-L9. That defiantly would break the game economy, not to mention miners who are having trouble already which spurred this thread IMO.
