Well I uninstalled and reinstalled based on the steps listed on the https://www.net-7.org/?#faq site. When running the Earth & Beyond Configuration as admin, I was able to get 130 FPS. So something must have gotten screwed up over time. After a couple more tires, it updated like all of the file when I started the Net7 client. Looks like it is working fine now. Thanks.

Thanks. I checked and the EnBConfig was already running with the Win SP 2 comp on. Still only giving me 6-8 fps? I know back in the day I was able to run this in full window mode as uber frame rates. I know I have updated the graphics drivers at least once, since when they come out, I update them right away. Must be something else that got changed. Maybe I should do a full uninstall and try reinstalling it again?

Hello Devs; First off let me thank you for all you do to support this old game. I just tried to run this again and am getting super low frame rates (6-8)? I was able to play this 6 months ago just fine. I have included a bunch of the info to see if I am missing something; or if something really strange has changed to cause this?

I found this issue with my current release in FireFox, thought I would add to the thread? I hope I am not beating the dead Virx. ?

All; Not sure if this is know or not but I noticed a couple patches ago. When I try and do a patch it works; but then when I launch my Norton stuff say net7proxy.exe is doing something suspicious and it removed. I then have to go back, relaunch, advanced and ask for a total update. Update works and then it works just fine.

Ramses; From what I remember in live it was the Vishao's Cove and the lvl 22+ Zendish (sp) there. They drop the Draco's for the lvl 4-6; depending on the lvl of the mob of course.

I am running mine on Windows Vista Home, 64 bit version. Seems to work with the alt-tab for me; but then most of time I am just staying in the game and not alt-tabbing very much.

I play in full screen mode on the 22 inch 16:9 screen The main reason I do this is because as the windowed mode, it does not let me drag the mouse outside the game window to click on other stuff. Therefore you still have to alt-tab even in windowed mode; which just seems wrong. Since I can alt-tab in full screen and get the same affect. I have also noticed the skewing on the screen due to the larger screens of the day; but still easy enough to play and enjoy. Keep up the great work it is good to get back in to EnB after all of these years.

This is what I was working on when running around to try and track some of the ores. However; until things become a bit more stable, this type of thing is going to change a lot. Grrrrr, it will not allow me to upload the excel spread sheet I was using.

I never had an issue with pop-mobs in live, since that was just part of the issue of being a miner type. There should be some risk when you are out mining the ores. The risk should be around the same level as the ore field or a few above. Now, I did get into an issue where I had joined some combat groups in live and my CL went up to high for the beams/shields/reactor I was using. So in my instance the ones that would pop in the higher level fields would smack me around a bit much. Again, I think there should be some 'risk' to mining.

Well I do not think that every class/race should be the same. Since some people play the class/race as a kind of RP type role; and doing this would remove that aspect from the game. The thing I wish they could all do is build all types of XXXX for the build skills they have. Meaning that anyone which can build reactors could build them all; but then the race restrictions would still hold for who could use them. This would apply to weapons, devices, shields, engines, etc. Now maybe there could be a 'hidden' race % modifier; which affects the final quality output of the item you are building. If you are not the specific race for that item. This way builders could build them all for the build skills; but if you want the 200% lvl 7-9 item, you are going to have to go to a race specific builder for it. Other than that I still enjoy the game and love playing it. Also many kudos, beer, cookies, ice cream .... to the devs for getting it up and running again.

*engages lvl 10 flame suit* An auto pilot option where you could set the destination sector and then start warp. You would then warp to the gate, jump, warp to next gate, jump, etc until you reached the destination sector. Not talking about a macro; but an in game option for setting up a travel path and having the ship follow it. I do agree with the other suggestions of putting in more trade routes. There have been lots of times I have been flying around, stop in a station, check and see there is not trade to the place I am headed or even along the way Sometimes there is not even a trade goods person in the station. Keep up the great work and effort.

Ok, I know I might get flamed for this question; but what is it that people are doing to the INI file which is requiring people to keep there modified copies? Also just for the batch file copy you created if you have something like this: XCOPY C:\"Program Files"\"EA GAMES"\"Earth & Beyond"\Data\client\output\keymap.ini d:\"Earth & Beyond"\Data\client\output\ /v /w /y then when you put the short cut on your desktop, you will be able to run the batch file from any place.
