  1. I wasn't sniping and I tried to say it as nicely as possible - which is why I *didn't* quote the original material you posted that many reading this probably never even saw. I don't see how dropping the F-bomb and similar language like you posted in the forums (but since cleaned up, thank you) should be tolerated anymore than it is tolerated in-game. I hope I've made that clearer for you as to what I was requesting.
  2. May I respectfully request that we please keep the language on the boards at the same level it is requested to be in-game? Thanks.
  3. Of course part of Afterburn will also be a raise in sig of, oh, 100% for 20 seconds each use? Hey, you can't hit that nitrous button without making some noise!
  4. Probably even better if we just require everyone to play with a GM at their side. At login you would be held in a starting base or sector, your name would go in a queue, and then eventually when a GM was available you would be released to go out and play. Obviously if there was a GM:Player ratio shortage your gameplay time would also need to have certain severe limits on it so that others could get their gameplay time. Hey, if we limit it so that there could never be more than one player active in the game then we would be sure that nobody was getting "advantages" over other players! Problem, whatever that problem is, solved.
  5. Ya gotta slight typo there. As I remember from the EnB forums during Live, it was spelled anDRAMAda. Galileo FTW!
  6. Yup, yup . . . could be that's why they called the class "Explorer"?
  7. You know, you're right. Come to think of it, what about people that have better computers than you? Faster processors, better vidcards, better ISP connections? We know that ppl with bad ISP conn's are more likely to CTD/GTD - simply unfair. I demand that we put a cap on all PC equipment and ISP connections and require everyone to play down to the lowest common denominator - anything else is "unfair". What about those people that have more free time than others? They are able to spend more time in-game and get "advantages" over other players with less free time (or RL's). Also unfair! We need a cap on maximum time in-game/per day to level the playing field! Ohhh, and don't get me started on those people that are . . . young! I hear they can read the default text color in General and never have to fiddle with the /setcolor command - that's really unfair.
  8. Nope, only from being *accomplished* thieves.
  9. Nope, only Trade Goods.
  10. Chicago, IL - cold and waiting for a big snowstorm to dump on us starting tonight. Played on Galileo until Sunset in guild Obsidian Asylum as Jarod (TT) and Warsteiner (JE) as my two primaries.
  11. Almost as rare as getting miners to share where there (secret) favorite mining "holes" were, once they'd found them.
  12. Q - did "Zizzy" register for the Stress Test and receive an email to confirm? Separate and distinct registration from these fora, common problem.
  13. But, of course, that's not what I said. Your original post was claiming that we needed to make game changes to avoid having to ban people for macro'ing - cheating. My reply merely pointed out that having to change things to help dishonest people avoid getting caught being dishonest . . . is dumb. Cheaters, thieves, . . . whatever scum you want - it's in their nature. If you want gameplay changes, make the case how it improves the gameplay. If you want to protect dirtbags . . . be a lawyer, it pays better.
  14. Reality check - currently this is an Alpha *Stress* Test - having more active characters in game interacting with each other is *good*. If people have the available resources to have multiple chars going that helps with the *test*.
  15. To be clear, I'm not advocating macro'ing or permission of it. If the resources exist to police it then by all means I'm for that. I do wonder, though, about the actual, real, usage - I've yet to encounter any char that appeared to be macro'ing. That's not saying that somebody isn't but I think the answer is going to be somewhere between "everyone is macroing" and zero and my hunch is the slider bar is going to be a lot closer to the zero side.
  16. Whoa, "outragiously (sic) long to level"?? What game are you playing? With the XP boosts leveling is much quicker than it was in Live. I also don't buy making changes to "prevent players from being banned for macro'ing". That's like saying we'll make better doorlocks to prevent people from being arrested for stealing. People do wrong things they should expect to answer for them. If you want gameplay changes, fine, make your case about how they would improve gameplay - but to say it's to protect *cheaters* from themselves, well, you just lose me there. But, like TB said, there's much bigger fish to fry ATM. If ppl are macro'ing and not getting caught, well, so be it - why anybody does it is beyond me but I guess that's because I'm not a cheater.
  17. I look forward to amassing enough Manticore's Nettles to wallpaper my house . . . just like in Live. j/k That's great news that we can look forward to real drops in the hulks. I agree that spotting a hulk while out mining always was a quick pick-me-up even if it ended up a dud - it was the anticipation of the unknown that made it fun.
  18. Did you register for the stress test and reply/validate the email from said registration to activate your account? That registration is separate from Forum registration.
  19. I don't know about the save on credits aspect. Are you comparing PW-built vs. storebought? After a certain point the PW is going to strongly prefer PM ammo to storebought - so at that point they are either building it themselves or having someone else build it for them. If the PW belongs to a guild it's usually not too hard to find a guildmate that will help you out and build the ammo, otherwise - time permitting - Market channel will typically find a builder. For maximum flexibility, yes, having the PW with the build skill to craft their own ammo is the bees knees. As you point out, though, that's a lot of skill points to sink into build weps - and it's tough for a PW to price-compete against a player with high-level Negotiate. So you have to decide whether you think you'll have access to builders to maintain a steady supply of ammo (cuz we know PW's burn through that fast) and if you're OK with going store-bought for those times you can't get hooked up - keep the skill points. My primary is a TT with max weps build so I can build all my PW's stuff, but I still made the modest investment of skill pts to get Build Weps lvl 3 for my PW for convenience in the early stages.
  20. Weapon? Weapon try to hurt Progen! Progen Smash! Progen Smash! Hmmmm, pretty parts.
  21. Yes, Race "A" can make items that are "Race B Only" or "Race C Only" - it's the "Race A Restricted" tag that makes things non-manu for them. (A, B, and C being used to represent generics for any of the 3 races here).
  22. Well done, I'd say you've laid this out in a thorough yet easy to follow manner.
