  1. Thank you for the kind wishes. 2016 has been a busy year for most of the staff outside of the game, which has translated into spurts of activity and productivity. We have tried to push forward on various new projects with some success this past year, and some which remain to be concluded to our satisfaction, and yours. Things have not yet settled down, and 2017 is looking to be just as occupied, although hopefully a little less frenetic. We approach this new year with renewed enthusiasm for our labor of love (the EMU) and the memory of strength and devotion passed on to us by our friend Richard and his years with the team. We always remember that all of you make this possible for us to continue forward. We thank you for this, and wish everyone, their families and loved ones, a new year filled with love, friendship, health and prosperity. May the coming year be all that you may wish it to be.

  3. That and check your hosts file. This has occurred before where the VPN has failed.
  4. Quite simply : The current implementation also takes into account the Privateer and the Seeker as well as certain build restrictions on components. It was either that, or not continue forward with the content.
  5. Alan, Ben spoke to me this morning about the trigger, and I hadn't read this post yet, don't be surprised if he asks you for a timeframe involved where one of your guildies may have seen the trigger being poked at. As with other complaints of this genre, we will look at the logs to see who actually killed the trigger mob, and supply that information if it is available. Anything that happens past that point is entirely guild business (ie. infringement by another guild in rotation) or internal politics/discipline. Just as an aside to Stoop; the last time this happened was strictly a guild matter (ie. Controller), or the time before that (between two of the rotation guilds) and as always we encourage communication and arbitration between the leaders to sort out the problem on their own.
  6. Red, I checked the quest with him on Monday and effectively, the mob doesn't spawn for him, despite all factors being normal. This isn't the only mission experiencing this type of issue, some other scan missions are also < failing >, where the client acknowledges condition met (completed 1 for status) but the stage doesn't move forward. And the problem seems to be hit-and-miss, occurring for one person but not another. To the bat-debugger.
  7. What you are asking for involves heavy modifications to the client and it's GUI. This cannot be done under the game's copyright and intellectual property.
  8. Those are all items that have had updated graphics and new entries in the mixfiles. Either your TH6 files are not refreshing correctly or you have corrupt or are missing updated MIX files. I suspect the latter. Start by trying the TH6 files first; delete them manually from your game directory ex ; C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\Data\client\mixfiles and then start the client and see if the problem persists. If it does you may need to replace one or more mixfiles and/or reinstall the client to update it correctly.
  9. Try running the character creator in compatibility mode for either windows XP or Windows 7 if you're not already doing that.
  10. Primus is under occupation. V'rix presence is high in the sector. As intended.
  11. What Kyp means is it's not your connection to the server (ie, ping, routing) that is causing the problem, but internally where the login server would hand off your client to a sector, your connection is being dropped. We have patched the code twice now to attempt to attenuate the drops, but it results in a 5-10 second "hang time" on the client when connecting. There is no workaround at your end. This is something we have to resolve in the server build.
  12. Richard's family has opened a crowdsourced funding drive to help pay for funeral costs. The goal is 3000$ US. We are uncertain whether Net-7 can or cannot represent itself as an organization in making a donation, however I invite anyone amongst staff and players who would like to contribute to do so as an individual and offset the amount that they have set as a goal. Anyone that wishes to donate can visit this link : https://www.gofundme.com/Richard-Jennings
  13. Take this with a grain of salt : First of all, from your other threads I'm guessing you're discussing gameplay with your Seeker. You should be looking at supporting your inherent reactor skills with the maximum amount of recharge capability you can muster (equipped bonus, skill, activated), usage of combat cloak and the chimaera devices are more likely a better fit than the Rada. Researching your mobs' capabilities and adapting is also important; look at their damage types and how to reinforce your resists with shield types (scale, dragonplate), other swappable resists both equipped and activated, also what damage types they are more susceptible to for your weapons choice. Traders are inherently a support class, and you're a little disadvantaged on the shield side as a Jenquai trying to tank; use a little stealth with combat cloak, bring along a friend/guildmate just to split up the damage or to take a little of the mob DPS away and lighten your needs for shield recharge. Your class is basically a living battery more than any other Jenquai profession before it. Played smart, you should have very few energy issues.
  14. I am posting this personally, and I invite my friends and colleagues to expand and enhance this post with their own comments. Our staff was informed last evening that one of our own has jumped through that Last Gate. Richard Jennings, known to most of you as Satanicexhile, was a creative and driving presence in the development of the emulator project. He was a member of the Net-7 board of directors for several years, and our CFO. He was an advocate of our presence in social media, founder of our presence on Facebook, and a positive influence on everyone that contributes their time here. He is THE reason we still have a graphics team after many others have pursued their own paths and interests outside this project. Richard had been dealing with health issues over the last year and had been less frequently present; but whenever he was here, despite whatever problems he personally experienced, his humor and perseverance were to be admired and exemplified. He was tolerant of our own sometimes childish complaints and minor moments of selfishness, yet always honest and forthright when pointing out our own blatant stupidity. The EMU team will be less without him, but more for having known him. Rest well.
  15. Yes. Currently the Net-7 website and the game server aren't sync'ed.
  16. I suggested a free vault cleaning to those who donated. Would that help? *snaps on rubber glove* : now, who wants a tickle?
  17. This is not a bug. The missions are separate, any class can do the Ardus mission from T2Z. All they have to do is, as the mission says, is seek out a key (acquire one). Device builders may take the secondary sideline mission for the build recipe at that stage from McCabe, but other classes are NOT affected.
  18. Easiest way to do custom resolutions : Using the Windows registry editor, look for this key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Westwood Studios\Earth and Beyond\Render Values RenderDeviceWidth and RenderDeviceHeight are the two that you modify; make sure you change to Decimal before editing the value. RenderDeviceWindowed should be 0 (fullscreen) or 1 (windowed) Note that this can only be done after running E&BConfig.exe for the first time, which creates the key values. Enjoy your now custom fitted res.
  19. This mission can be completed by any Terran above a certain level, all that is required of the player is to turn in those items to MacKellan. I suggest you ask around on market for an Agrippa builder.
  20. Hmm. No I cannot recommend a path for you to macro-ing. .. so each item in the stack to be dismantled is calculated by itself.. so it will still take a while, but I won't have to manually click each time... sitting their for a whole day, getting RSI and going insane from the repetition.. I know there is probably a way to do that with macros, but I don't really like the idea of macros, not to mention I'm not sure how to get started with them anyway. And no, we will not code a server-side macro for you.
  21. LoL .. sometimes reading the forums requires popcorn for the show. Kyp means that my original post refers to this : yes, the skill can/will be coded at some future date, skills development and implementation is not currently a priority, nor is converting some older content to new mechanisms (I refer specifically here to the high-end/endgame stuff). When it is time to attack that area, it will not / cannot be a cribbed or mishmash of two other skills for all the reasons I pointed to briefly and Matt explained more thoroughly. With our current timeline for migration, development and available staff assignments, we're literally burning midnight oil here (as you can guess we're currently doing prep work on the server migration and bugfixing Sunrise while replying) and then all have to get up tomorrow morning for work. The pendulum will swing back, and some of those other issues will also be looked at. I'm sure that when it does, there will be suggestions for more new content while our focus is on remedial patching and enhancements, or some other issue will be pointed at while we're working elsewhere. THAT was why I asked if you were volunteering lol.
  22. Opening the PRS requires specific permissions and knowledge of server commands, spawn groups and raid mechanics. While most raid mechanics are automated, much is done manually in the PRS. The advocate has a tag on his name. Oh, and a magic NPC wand that makes badly illuminated areas somehow brighter. Nothing else. Staff accounts are flagged for these permissions and GMs are coached by Blacklung for this. Currently there are 2 GMs active.
  23. .. and I think you've mistaken brevity for sarcasm. I read some of your other posts where you have made reference to being a software developer, and I'm inferring from that you have some coding skills. Hence the question if you were offering to code that, and the suggestion to speak to Kyp is a valid one, as he would be the person to discuss any involvement with the coding group. If there had been sarcasm, it would have been far more obvious.
  24. Possibily, in some future content patch. Until then, no comment.
  25. Are you volunteering to code it? Because if you are, that would be a welcome contribution. The reason there is no skills work going on is a lack of people involved at the programming level, not because we could <crib> code from other skills to Band-Aid a solution together. There are other properties to CC besides the ones you've mentioned, as well as triggering the correct code in the client from the server on activation. But I'm confident your skills will be a valuable addition to the team, please speak to Kyp.
