  1. I've been running it on several Win 10 machines with no problems.   "...I have now unchecked the boxes from launch and checked everything run as admin..."   all four check-boxes on the launcher should be "checked"...I see where Arthur said "checked off", but I'm pretty sure he just meant "checked"
  2. Well the warrior is gonna depend on your game style and what you like, the PW is pretty popular.  JD is probably the most independent (if you want to play solo a lot).  TE has the range and rally is a must have for every raid group, so there's that.
  3. Can't really say what's changed from 5 years ago, I've only been on the emulator about 2 1/2 years, but the devs have been hard at work with quite a lot accomplished.  Mordana Maelstrom and der Todesengel sectors are open now and the V'rix have appeared in the story line.
  4. Welcome back Mr. Wayne, deranged vigilante billionaires are always welcome.  :D   If it's been 5 years, you'll likely find your toons have to start over...there was a reset a few years ago and all characters had to start from scratch.  But hey, building up your toon is half the fun, so don't let that discourage you.
  5. "When the new 'content' for DT was added to the game, that is where the 'public council' was put together. It was there, that agreements and gentlemens rules were stated regarding how things had been working prior to the public players rotating in. The representatives public or non public, had no issues with the way things worked and agreed they were happy with everything that was going on."   I would equate this to USA, Canda, Mexico, and France signing a treaty, then USA says to Europe, since France signed the treaty, we expect all European countries to follow the treaty.  My point is, the public is not a guild, even if you choose a few representatives, it's up to each individual/guild to choose whether they want to be represented.   I'm in one of the big 3 guilds, by joining I chose to abide by the rules that my guild leadership set, therefore I follow the raid rotation.  I would have an issue if for example VGE  took BI's raid because they also signed up for the agreement.  I would have absolutely no issue if Space Vixens and Dirty Old Creepers (random funny guild names I saw in the guild list :D ) got together and took down my guild's raid...as far as I'm concerned my guild and that group has no rotation agreement and the trigger is first come first serve, if they get to it before we do, gratz on being more organized on that day.  **note: this is my personal opinion as a player, it is not meant as a statement representing my guild**
  6. I think everyone is missing Gunney's point, can't we come up with some ideas to work together rather than splintering the rotation even more?  The rotation is reducing the number of raids that are being done in a given week.  In my opinion the rotation has removed all initiative to run the raid as soon as possible, some triggers sit for days at a time, wasting the loot that could go to those players that need it.   Here's my suggestion to the guild leaders, make the rotation about raid leadership rather than raid ownership.  Open your raids to anyone that wants to participate rather than just your guild.  If you need 12 players, announce it in general chat and get the first 12 players regardless of what guild they're in and do the raid as soon as you can.  As the guild leading the raid, participants need to meet your requirements (i.e. OL140+, max shields, etc.) and follow your lotto rules for loot distribution.  This should result in raids being run at different times of day giving players in different time zones better chance to participate.  Might even give some players incentive to get on-line when they know a trigger is due just to be able to participate.   From my experience, all the guild leaders are stand up folks and try to be fair, so if they're behind this idea and give the directive to their guild to involve other players and be fair to everyone regardless of guild affiliation, the guild will make it happen.  Now would this be a perfect system...no, there's always going to be someone who feels like they didn't get enough notice, the raid organizer might mess something up, those things happen.  The guild organizing the raid will likely have more folks there because they have ways to get a hold of their members off-line, others may feel like they didn't have enough chance to get in.  The point isn't to come up with a system that nobody is able to complain about, but to get more raids done per week and give more players a chance to win the loot.   As a final incentive to get the raids done quickly, if a trigger is sitting for more than 12 hours, it should become a free for all, so that anyone can take over the organization and get the trigger taken down.

+1   Would love to see a way to repair/improve quality on non-buildable items.  Perhaps it could work as a skill similar to call forward.  Some NPC sells you a device.  Player equips the device and activates the skill which uses up the device.  Each device raises the quality by 1% on an item you have equipped in a specific slot.  You could charge some serious credits for the device, let's say 100mil.
  9. Thanks for the data GHB. Was the total damage always the same regardless of the ammo used?  For example, if use impact ammo, and the 2 numbers add up to 1000, then I switch to explosive, do the 2 numbers also add up to 1000?  Then if I switch to chem (and add up all the ticks), does that also add up to 1000?
  10. I've had some success by rebooting the PC when I get a lot of those errors.  It's not a complete fix, I still get the message, but I can generally get more clients up before it starts.
  11. I don't know about you guys, but I NEVER die in raids ;)  jk Typically, jumpstarter toon is in the looter group or alone sitting on the sidelines (usually a dualboxed toon of someone in one of the fighting groups).  I wouldn't waste a dps spot in one of the combat groups for a JS'r that can just zoom in, js and zoom out.   I think GHB's point in starting this thread was to say that yes, explorers are supposed to be the debuffers, but with their current capability, it's difficult to justify giving up a dps or healer for what the explorer brings to the raid, and I tend to agree with that.  Absolutely they can be worked into a group, but they're not at the top of anyone's list saying, I need one for my group.   P.S. To those of you leveling up toons that want to do a lot of raiding; TT, TE, JD, PW are the toons most desired in raids.  I put TT first because from my  experience, healers seem to be the hardest to find when putting together a group and you can have a very capable TT at Lv140 if you use your skill points wisely.
  12. I don't think it's about making the raids easier, I do agree with GHB, the explorer classes are not in high demand in raids.  Yes, I know there are a few exceptions, but I don't think I've ever heard a call "we need a JE/PS" to complete our group, maybe a "we need someone...anyone to complete our group...oh you have a JE, ok, we'll take it so that we can finally start."   And Ice, I hate to admit this cause I like my JE a lot, but I would say a JE is a poor raiding toon (other than looting).  When I'm putting a group together, I'd take a JD, or JS, over a JE 100% of the time.  Group cloak is kinda useless because it shuts off as soon as a toon fires or activates a skill, sapping only works on shields.  The DEA and Rallying Cry are pretty tough to get, they're nice to have, but I don't think they are must have's for a raid(like say a healer or summoner).  If a player has a JE with a DEA and Rallying Cry, they most likely have a number of other raid capable toons that they can bring instead.   For those of us in this thread, I suspect we can bring most any toon to fill a group, the folks that have a tough time with this are the newer players with a explorer main in the 140's or that just hit 150 and want to start raiding.  I think it's pretty tough for them to get into a raid with their toon.
  13. Why do you say there's a 72 debuff limit?  For a player, the Deflects range is 144 (-72 to +72), so I would think a MOB is the same way.
  14. Welcome back, you might find some useful information at:  https://www.net-7.org/wiki   Since you're a JE, mining gas is an option for you for explore and trade xp.  Always trade what you mine to another player (could be your alt if you're multi-boxing) as you get 2x the xp vs. selling to a vendor.  Then trade it back to the JE, refine, and trade again for more xp.
  15. I would just add that from my experience, growing your toons tends to be a solo endeavor.  Once you reach OL 140+, and if combat is something you're into, then there is some content that encourages cooperation and teamwork (i.e. raids).
  16. All I'm saying is that there should be fields that are better suited for each class.  The PS and TS have more firepower, they are better suited at killing 1 or 2 guardians in other fields and then strip mine the area.  The JE is stealthy and can go into areas with lots of mobs, but has to "ninja prospect" while avoiding being shot at, a much slower process.
  17. There's nothing wrong with having areas that are more suited to a particular class (i.e. JE over PS).  Part of the fun is finding the areas that are best suited to your class.  Perhaps a field occupied by Rogue Progen is a place where a PS shouldn't be able to mine alone.
  18. In case any of you are trying to run the game on a really old PC ^_^ I started getting the 301 cert error after the 8/8/15 patch on machines that were running Win XP service pack 1.  Updating to win XP SP3 fixed the problem.
  19. Solved   I was using VMware Player.  I removed it from one PC this morning and initial tests look good, I logged in 2 clients and both were responding to commands.   thanks for the help Woodstock.
  20. I'm not able to run a second client on my windows 8.1 machines.  I've gone through all the configuration articles I could find here (exe's are running as admin, compatibility mode is checked, firewall rules updated (I also turned off the firewall completely and had the same issue) I even tried setting up multiple IP addresses and had each client use a different IP).  The "Lock Port" checkbox doesn't allow me to log in, but I tired it out just in case.   I can run a single instance just fine, but as soon as I start the 2nd instance, the first instance stops working, with 1 exception, I can still type slash commands (i.e. /who) in the first client's window, but the result show's up in the 2nd client's window.  If I type /quit in the first client, it closes down as expected, but 2 seconds after that, the 2nd client gets a message box "lost connection to server" and also closes down. This leads me to think maybe both clients are using the same net7proxy instead of each one using it's own.   I know dualboxing isn't supported by the EnB tech staff, so I don't expect a lot of troubleshooting help.  But if anyone has run into this before and found a fix for the problem, I'd really appreciate some advice.
  21. I disagree, these fields are useful.  The biggest source of confusion right now is that players don't know this information is still in the database, if they're on an item and it says "Race: All", they will know where to look for that information on subsequent searches.  Seasoned players will figure this out over time, but the missing data will increase the learning curve for new players that are just coming to the game.   Also, from a readability perspective, it's actually more efficient and quicker for the human brain to have all the fields presented.  We are very good at recognizing patterns, so if you have a box that always shows the same fields in the same order, we are much better at picking out the relevant information.  It takes the brain longer to register that a value is missing then it takes it to locate the value in a list.   Personally, I would prefer to see all the fields shown(Avatars Owning Items, Avatars with Recipe, Race, Class, etc.) on the screen.  That way there's no confusion whether it's in the database or not.   If you want to get real fancy, list all the items, and make them bold if the item has a restriction i.e. If all can use show: "Race: All" If Terran only show: "Race: Terran Only"
  22. Awesome job Karu, looks great, will make finding items with specific buffs much easier.   Like Stevinium, I don't use the race/profession filters.  When I search the database, i'm usually looking for an item for one of my toons.
