  1. Pretty good somebody unfortunately left a comment that doesn't reflect the current state of the emu team/community but it's definitely cool to see that we're not the only ones that miss(ed) it. Maybe as the game progresses, we can gain some momentum and get the player base and donations up for bigger and better things.
  2. One thing that's not good to stack over 100% last time I checked is equipment engineering. I activated a nova (think that's the one with the ee buff? ) on top of my gm+ and nothing would install while in space! This may well have been fixed as it was months ago.
  3. Sounds like this other game I used to play
  4. Well, logistically speaking, I would think so. This phone is probably close to as powerful as the laptop I ran EnB on when my alienware died. Like you said, connection is a nonissue, 3g is way faster than 56k. I say it's worth a shot! *waits for someone to rain on the parade*
  5. Ill pay $5.50 I'm going to tech currently, transferring to USC (east coast) this fall to finish BS in computer science. Fighting a losing battle to do it without loans. Hope this ends up paying well lol
  6. That, And congrats on quitting EVE
  7. Definitely a je for wormhole and jumpstart. Also, a healer and builder. The tt is the old favorite but don't discount the other traders. The pp can deal lots of damage in addition to healing and just generally being a beast The js is nice for its reactor optimization from what I hear but I don't have oneand I've actually never grouped with one so idk myself. As far as a warrior, it depends on how you like to play. Pw is still the tank, jd is still a glass cannon, and te is still a mix and a kiter. I love the jd myself but if you're running 3 boxes you might want something else. Anyway the game's as awesome as ever, good luck and pm me in game if you need any help.
  8. Cool. They should've mentioned that this isn't the usual bastardizes f2p game where you can and sometimes have to buy your way to greatness. Hope it sparks interest though you guys deserve some recognition for the job you're doing.
  9. This is how it works in EVE and it seems to work great. It'd be a far cry from where we are now though and it would throw off the balance of how much damage mobs do vs how much we can tank. Idk if it's worth changing with the amount of work to code it then balance out damage but I'd like it.
  10. This would be nice to have all in one topic. I can say for sure they can't mess with the client much if at all due to EA but they can and do add new content. Were a ways off from having all the content that was in live like vrix but we're getting there and there are already some sectors that weren't in live and the unreleased classes are in. Dev team's making great strides. Welcome back!
  11. I think trade jobs only give trade xp at this point but they do give it in quite large amounts. Explore jobs, though, give lots of explore and about ~1/3 or so that much trade xp (not sure on the amount, but its less, may be more like half) I'd suggest doing some trade runs, exploring the galaxy, and doing some combat to get you up to lvl 60, at which point you can take jobs from Aragoth station in VT FTW. Explore jobs go to a moon in muspel and can be done in half the time if you have a je alt sit at the moon to wh you back to the station. Also, warping to the moon below the muspel gate (forget the name, haven't done these in a bit) and then to the muspel gate seems to save a bit of time as it's more of a straight line. Also, when leveling an alt, you can get tons of trade xp by looting while you farm with your main, which is especially nice if you're killing something that won't agro and blast your little guy to smithereens. Not as nice otherwise. Anyway, hope this helps!
  12. I agree entirely that the classes all need some loving and/or nerfing. I also realize that you can't very well wait 'til you have all the balancing ready and throw it in one patch as that would be entirely too much to deal with at once. However, "fixing" (ok it really is fixing in the grand scheme of things) one class at a time is going to make the class effected, the pw in this case, feel like they're getting a raw deal if the other classes aren't being nerfed and/or are being buffed, hence Whitelighter's statement. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's going to feel like certain classes are getting more love than others for a while and it will eventually all balance out to where the devs and community feel that it should be. I do hope that there is a way to get all of this stuff done without making people feel like the odd man out. I certainly wouldn't want to be the odd man out, like when cloak was completely nerfed for a day or two, and I definitely wouldn't want to see anyone get turned off by a nerf to the point of quitting, or "boycotting" a certain class, or anything like that. I don't see how this can be accomplished, but hopefully some devs and community members do. Long story short, we're all going to get some nerfing and we're all going to get some loving one way or another. It might suck for some people at some times, and other people at other times, but we'll get there eventually.
  13. Or threaten you with the comfy chair.. Not the comfy chair!! Lol
  14. Heroic. Not quite legendary, but certainly heroic I still have the computer I originally ran EnB on in storage, I might have to break it out for another run.
  15. Ive had occasional trouble with this too, for example when my beams finish off a target and I switch to the next before they recharge, they are back in auto fire mode. I can press f to turn them back off, but they only stay off for a second and the only way to turn them off so I can cloak and get close without shooting is to untarget and retarget. Hasn't bee a huge deal I see where it could lead to aplenty of trouble in a pressure situation
  16. I live in sc and the world shuts down when it snows, which happens anywhere from 3x a year to once every 5 yrs. I like to drift in circles in large deserted parking lots, put all the snow possible around a friends car so they can't go anywhere, stuff like that. Wouldn't want it several months a year like some. PS although it doesn't snow much its cold as $&%# at times with the 80-100% humidity, my friend from Denver visited and was completely freezing his ass off.
  17. Being a lifelong pack fan I have to say packers. Plus even if I wasn't a packers fan. Cliff Matthews and AJ hawk make me harken back to the days of Viking longboats and pillaging and that's badass.
  18. Agreed, especially for stuff like GoD and the like. I'd be rather unhappy to go to the trouble to get a group together and run the gauntlet and get an 88q gun/other item. Guess it could be viewed as a reason to come back but I'd prefer 100 or at least 95 and up.
  19. Idk if this is possible, sounds like a huge pita to code if it is and would probably fall wayyyy down the list of priorities seeing how the devs have their hands full getting skills, items, and new content working along with fixing bugs and balancing things out. EnB doesn't lend itself to the idea nearly as well as Eve (ever been in an Eve starbase? Not much to it.) But I'm certainly not against it and if the dev team ever grew to the point where they have the manpower available to do such a thing I think it'd be awesome. Time being though, I'm ok with f7 being everyone's guild hq
  20. !!! That's what I think and what I said earlier. It's the individuals that are awesome or shady, mean, whatever you want to.call them, not the guild itself. It doesn't matter if an asshole is in a small guild big guild or no guild he's still an asshole. If a certain guild, regardless of size, is comprised of a bunch of assholes, it's the leader's job to fix that or go with it at their discretion. Furthermore until loot rights are working properly, if I'm in no guild and out DPS every individual 1v1 in a big guild's group I get the kill anyway. Of course this is flawed and probably wont remain this way long but unless it's already fixed, right now there is no owning a spawn with superior numbers like in live.
  21. Back in live, I shared your sentiment. I thoughts big guilds were big kill stealing, raid camping Mafia families. Static was one of the strongest and biggest guilds on Andromeda and had a rep for these things. I disliked them like so many on the sever. However, after grouping with a few members and doing some raids with them I honestly never met anyone I didn't like. Here in st4 I wouldn't switch guilds with anyone. I see only upside to being in a large guild. There are always people to talk to, ask for help, group with, build for you, etc. I understand the monopoly concept many associate with large guilds but I've learned this is.all about the nature of the people running / joining them. A douchebag in a large guild is still a douchebag, only with more power. Talk to people before throwing them into a category, you'll be surprised how many are willing to step aside and let someone else try that boss or give up the loot when someone else should have gotten the kill. And I'm not tooting my own horn, members of static and vge have done these things for myself and my friends. Well forgive me if I'm ranting but all I'm saying is A) I used to agree, I changed my mind if you've had a problem with a certain type of guild or even a specific guild, there's a good chance it's the individual(s) you're dealing with, not the size of the guild or the guild as a whole.
  22. Terrell makes a good point about CC. The other traders might have a distinct damage advantage early but once jt gets CC it balances out a bit. Besides, being a jenpie, jt is probably meant to be slightly inferior to the other traders in terms of DPS, moreso with the warlike pt. Out of the traders, JT is the most like a traditional mmo healer class: pretty low but not the worst DPS, low HP, good survivability with heals and energy (mana) to spare. The progen as a race don't compare to a traditional mmo in that by far the best tank also does great DPS while a tank class normally has some of the worst DPS. And their healer also does great DPS without sacrificing energy or defense. EnB isn't your average mmo though and I love that about it. Edit - yeah, maybe jt should outgun the tt by a bit. I would think it'd be pretty equal or a bit ahead as is with cc but again I don't play jt so you would know better than I.
  23. I'll post the original hosts file when I get off work tonight if anyone needs it. It should work edited but it might bypass updates when that's back up so I'm going to revert mine just in case if login is working normally
  24. Good to hear it kenu, it'd also be interesting to have some missions where you have to make a decision which will effect the way the mission progresses and the rewards you get. And not like "the other space game" where one of the rewards is so much better that you'd never choose a different option. And it'd be interesting whether or not such missions are repeatable to get the other storylines/rewards. Could be cool either way. Anyway I'd be happy to see more missions regardless of what they're like as long as they're worth doing. And thanks devs for the ariad and malhause missions keep up the good work!
