Popular Post bondct Posted January 20, 2010 Popular Post Report Posted January 20, 2010 Revised 2011-10-08 Install from here - Please follow the instructions given, unless explicitly told not to on a Vista/Win7/Win8 system, right click the executable files and choose the "Run As Administrator.." option. The installer does attempt to set this on the files themselves but if you have UAC enabled on these systems, you must be running as an explicit admin to write the registry files needed for the game client. The install should abort and tell you why if you don't have sufficient permission to write to the registry. Below is archives from the original installers in case we ever have to restore them. --- here are the install instructions I used... of course you need to dl the files from the download section Please make sure you are an Administrator of your machine and you have got ALL the latest windows updates, including service pack 3 (winxp) and dot net 3.5. dotnet3.5 Link Here Look for enb files here http://www.net-7.org 1. Download the EnB Game Client and install it: 2. Download the EnB client patch and install it: 3. REMOVE any previous versions of Net7 Multiplayer 4. Download and install the Net7 Setup: 5. Go to the Net-7 website to Register: http://www.net-7.org/index.php 6. Check your Email Inbox for the activation Link and activate your account 6a. Once you have your first account activated you can make upto a total of 3 accounts using the same email address (but different login name) by going back to step 5. 7. Run the Net7 tool from Start - Program Files-EA GAMES - Earth & Beyond - Net7 Config 7a. Hit test performance button on Net7 config tool and click ok when the test is complete 8. Run C:\Net7\bin\LaunchNet7.exe or click the LaunchNet7 icon from your desktop If you are running vista or above make sure you run the game as Admin. If you have followed the above instructions, but the game isn't working (crash-to-desktop (CTD) on login, or you see an INV-300 error), the technical support page lists the most common solutions. If you want to try one of the 3 classes not in live, install the Character and Starship Creator and do this... Right click the shortcut to the Character and Starship Creator, go to properties. You should see a "target path" on the general tab. Go to the end of what's in that box after the quotes and type a single space, then: -noclassrestrictions then click apply and ok. After that, use that shortcut to start your character creator and you should be set. 6 1 Quote
Marco[IS] Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 I removed the Starship creator from the patcher so you will not have to DL the 300 meg program by default. - Marco Quote

I'm most likely missing something, but I double checked, and nothing doing for the extra 3 toon options. Quote

Rewind921 Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Downloaded everything.. installed everything.. keeps telling me i need to run as admin..only 1 user on my comp so not sure whats up here.. any suggestions? Quote
C Del[IS] Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Could you post a screenshot of the error? When do you get the error? What version of Windows are you using? Quote
Gobblu Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 If you're running windows vista, the easiest thing to do (for me anyway) was to disable account protection (or whatever it's called). It kept whining at me about running with admin, and would not update via the patcher. I disabled the account protection and works like a charm. Of course now windows whines about the account protection being off, but I ignore that. lol As far as win7 goes, dunno, can't afford it. Quote
steve'0 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 i cant register at Net7.org, i dont remember the forum username, just the display name Quote
Gobblu Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 I finally got it to work. After running update on net7 somewhere around 12 times (yeah, 12 hours or so). It would complain about 1 file, fix it the next time, get past it, and complain about the next one. Once I finally got past all the art mixfiles it proceeded through the sound ones fine. I haven't been having any other net problems, so I don't know what was happening. Quote
kane3162 Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 (edited) Its not DIRECTLY relevant to this thread, but it kinda is! I want to make an AIO download... thats it... download the folder (maybe run a batch), open LaunchNet7, play... copy it to a flash drive and have MobileEnB-Net7! What exactly is preventing this from being done, what files/registry entrys are critical that it cannot be made portable? OR if someone can tell me the files/registry entrys that are necessary I will make the batch then upload it for all to download! EDIT: SO! Since I no longer install anything on my systems thats non-mission-critical, I installed this in VPC, copied it over to my laptop, and ran it, seems to be running fine (the Net7 and Client, am trying the creator as we speak), Glad to see most of the MAJOR bugs worked out in the launcher! EDIT2: I seem to have hit a snag... I ran the Character creator, then went to start the game, this time after I hit login the client crashes out immediately, it ran fine BEFORE I ran the character creator but now that I have always crash's, I have removed the folder from ProgramData and it still happens, anyone else have a clue? EDIT3: added _except.txt (seems to be the only file created after crash) EDIT4: this is why you dont do things when your sleepy... the compatibility setting didnt carry over from my other system... _except.txt _except.txt Edited April 26, 2010 by FireStorm Quote
