  1. If a train leaves Chicago at approx 5:40 pm central time traveling east at a constant speed of 45 mph and a train leaves Boston at 6:15 pm eastern time traveling west at a constant speed of 50 mph, at what time did you realize that you forgot your train tickets at home?
  2. LOL I was involved in this conversation, here is the T-shirt I was talking about: http://www.zazzle.com/contra_teamwork_tshirt-235798282877414332
  3. Yes, build comps skill. I just thought since comps usually require ores (so you would need to partner with an Explorer class or break down another comp to get them) maybe some of the loot only comps, make the ingredients be broken parts instead of ores.
  4. <--gives Avani a manes essence (this was left over from the last reactor I built for a Terran) Seriously though, I do like the idea that if you have a failure, or "extra parts" you should get back at least a broken comp or something (cracked focusing lense, broken circuit board, etc) I had made a suggestion in live once that the trader classes should have an ability to take like 3 of the same broken parts and manu them into a working comp.
  5. Would a power-leveler be a donator? If someone came in, started playing the game, found out how to get to OL150 in a week, got bored, decided to play something else, at which point did this person become a donator? If you are worried about losing players/donators because they are getting bored, don't worry about nerfing xp to make it longer to get to 150. Worry about adding more content (and not just end-game content, content at every level along the way). If I "powergamed" (200+ hours according to the quote) the way I play the game right now (not doing trade runs for all 50 TL's, not doing any tours for EL, actually doing straight combat to get CL's) it would take me at least 3 weeks to get to 150 the way it is now. I could understand nerfing xp as more content is added. If I have more things available to me to gain xp, I could understand not getting as much xp for it.
  6. I think its been mentioned before that the joy of the game is not just getting to 150, but the ride along the way. For people who don't practice the power-leveling idea just to get to 150 as fast as they can... <----raises hand I would hate to see exp get nerfed back to what it was like during live. At OL118, I'm probably still a couple weeks away from 150, and I started in March, so I think the pace is pretty good as it is right now. If people want to power-level themselves to 150 in 3 or 4 days, let them. That's fun for them. I think it would be rare, but if people complain about lack of end-game content we can point out all of the content they skipped power-leveling. I know Merlin for one likes to get to 150 as fast he can, but he also likes helping everyone else along the way and thats fun for him. Leave xp as it is and worry about all the other stuff (fixing mob issues, adding more areas and storyline missions, etc)
  7. I've done that before. Logged on thinking I was on the play server, but I was on the PTR server and sit there wondering why there are only 8 people on
  8. Why do chickens cross the road? It's a trick question, they never make it across the road, Starfox gets to them first.
  9. I finally got my PP to TL50 a couple days ago, and even though the spillover has been cut from 80% to 50% now, just doing trade runs for a couple hours, I was still able to pick up two CL and EL and probably one more run would have given me a 3rd for each but it was late and I had to log. Getting to TL50 is quite a grind especially if you just do trade runs, but its nice once you get there.
  10. If you're not making mistakes, then you're not doing anything. I'm positive that a doer makes mistakes. Failure is not fatal, but failure to change might be. The main ingredient of stardom, is the rest of the team. Talent is God-given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful. If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over? -John Wooden Here to you, as good as you are, And here is to me, as bad as I am; As bad as I am, as good as you are, I am good as you are as bad as I am
  11. Can we get this part split off into the new Jenquai forum area? They are valid points (though in the wrong thread right now)
  12. The credits is usually the big issue. If you don't have at least 25 or 30k credits, they won't even start the mission (or tell you that you don't have enough credits to start the mission, which would be nice to have added to the talk tree).
  13. Sorry for the extremely noob question, never played a PS in live and didn't have much interaction with them, but exactly does the call forward skill do?
  14. +1 Don't know the logistics of accomplishing this in the emulator, but I really like the idea. I found (by accident) that starting a PP first really helps for any subsequent progen characters that you create. I don't plan on sinking any additional points into my PW's build skill. My PP also makes all the reactors, shields, ML's and beams for my Terrans and Jenquai (except my JE is starting to get to the point where the better reactors/shields are Jenquai only)
  15. Wow, you need to relax. These guys don't get paid to watch the server all day, I would venture to guess most of them even have jobs and a life.
  16. Here is my spreadsheet that I put together a little while ago. Most of the information I got off the character planner on net-7.org. Two issues with the character planner that I have corrected on my spreadhseet: Terran Enforcer seemed to be following the Terran Tradesman plan for weap/device slots which is inaccurate. (Terran Scout might not be accurate either, if anyone knows for sure, please let me know) Progen Privateer at OL100 you get the 5th weapon slot, not the 4th device slot as is indicated on the character planner. Ok it actually wont let me upload the excel spreadsheet, but here is the information at least (listed by class, title, weap slots, device slots): Terran Enforcer-Ensign 2, 1 Lieutenant 2, 2 Lt. Commander 3, 2 Commander 3, 3 Captain 4, 3 Commodore 4, 4 Admiral 5, 4 Terran Tradesman-Prentice 1, 2 Journeyman 1, 3 Agent 2, 3 Emptor 2, 4 Guildsman 3, 4 Magnate 3, 5 Merchant Prince 4, 5 Terran Scout-Cadet 1, 2 Private 1, 3 Corporal 2, 3 Sergeant 2, 4 Master Sergeant 3, 4 Sergeant Major 3, 5 Warrant Officer 4, 5 Jenquai Defender-J'nai 2, 1 D'nai 2, 2 U'nai 3, 2 Lai'shao 3, 3 Dai'shao 4, 3 Ten'shao 4, 4 Ken'shao 5, 4 Jenquai Seeker-Nan'Jeu 1, 2 Zi'Jeu 1, 3 Bo'Jeu 2, 3 Hou'Jeu 2, 4 Gong'Jeu 3, 4 Wang'Jeu 3, 5 Huangdi'Jeu 4, 5 Jenquai Explorer-Aspirant 1, 2 Initiate 1, 3 Novice 2, 3 Disciple 2, 4 Adept 2, 5 Master 3, 5 Grandmaster 3, 6 Progen Warrior-Legionnaire 2, 1 Centurion 3, 1 Lancearate 3, 2 Praefect 4, 2 Legate 5, 2 Consul 5, 3 Proconsul 6, 3 Progen Privateer-Quaestor 2, 1 Aedile 2, 2 Tribune 3, 2 Praetor 3, 3 Procurator 4, 3 Triumvir 5, 3 Imperator 5, 4 Progen Sentinel-Inceptor 2, 1 Librorum 2, 2 Savant 3, 2 Pedagogue 3, 3 Doctrinaire 3, 4 Magister 4, 4 Magister Magna 4, 5
  17. (From another post) I am still having an issue with the renegade progen hastatus in the grav well near the Pax Decima in Lagarto running away from me, and that mob is 6 cl's higher than me.
  18. I like Avani's idea of increasing the sp you receive past 150. I think the pace that we can level right now is just fine, I understand the desire to want to balance things out between how quickly each of the categories get leveled, but I caution against the need to balance out leveling versus nerfing xp in certain areas. If you nerf one area, find a way to boost another, etc. I fully intend to eventually have 9 toons (all classes represented) all leveled to 150 which for me would probably be at least a 2-3 year commitment. Even if there is a dreaded p-wipe, I will cuss and throw things and call people names behind their backs, but right after that, I will be creating new toons and starting over.
  19. There are quite a few issues that get brought up in bug reports section of the forums that sometimes don't seem to get commented on and sometimes duplicate postings for the same issue. I was wondering if there was a way to put up a type of spreadsheet on the forums that would indicate when one of the dev's has seen the posting and is in the process of doing something about it. (Suricata does a decent job of anytime someone posts an issue he will post something like "I will take a look at this when I get home"). I'm thinking though, a list that shows the topic title, who is working on the issue (or if you don't want to put a name here, maybe just put some indicator saying that it is being looked at), the date it was opened and then a link that will take you to description page. The first part of the description from the user who submitted the posting would be in one color and then in a separate color, text from one of the dev's indicating what steps have been taken so far. And the last thing would be a status: Open - bug report has been seen by a dev and is being checked for validity Confirmed - bug report has been confirmed to be an issue by a dev In Q/A - dev's have made changes to correct the issue, but are currently testing it or awaiting another server push Closed - issue has been resolved, or has been discovered to not be an issue When an issue is closed obviously some comments should be left by the dev working on it to indicate what was done, or if nothing was done, why it is not an issue.
  20. Don't ever apologize for kicking players who are acting like a couple of morons.
  21. Ok my over-exaggeration meter just went off the charts. I know I haven't logged 600 hours yet on my PP but I do know that it is way over 60 hours (I'm thinking probably closer to 150 hours) and am only OL111 and I'm estimating probably another 30 hours or so to get to 150 (it seems to me that past OL100 there is a lot more to do to level up faster). I do agree that it is still quite a bit faster to level up than it was in live, but 10x?...eh...not quite. One other thing that I would point out though, you could probably level a terran or a jenquai to 150 faster than a progen because of the HU missions.
  22. Similarly, to get to OL100 if you leveled CL and EL to lvl 31 (which would take the least amount of xp) and then trade to level 38 over a 3 day period of time (in another post a few weeks ago someone mentioned they could get a new toon to lvl 100 over a long weekend), if you played non-stop 72 hours straight, you would need to average just under 80,000 xp an hour.
  23. +1 Excellent Ghostbusters reference
  24. I find this slightly amusing as I see your profile pic is the EnB box with two visible EA logo's on it
  25. Before I make too many comments/criticism about this change, I would like to see the answer to Merlin's questions, specifically 1 and 3 (and as a result of 3 possibly 4). I can definitely see that Merlin is always on the side of the miner, so I would assume that if 3 is no, then some of those huge fields will be reduced. I think this could be a good thing as long as there is an even split among the fields. For example, if a field has a timer that is too short for a solo miner, there should be a smaller field with the same ores in it that can be solo mined.
