1. This matter has already been addressed in a thread that has been closed.
2.
This shot was taken from the peak of Mauna Kea on the island of Hawaii at sunset.... from ABOVE the clouds. It's about as close to outer space as I will be able to get for a while. I hope you guys like it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/shuteru/5353762686/ (Sorry if it's in the wrong forum category, this was close to OT as I could find)
That is a gorgeous photo. thank you for sharing!
3. I should add, though, that the reason most of them are not set as colorizable, is simply because many of them have a number of colors in them already, and the tinting will be applied as an overlay on the top layer of the image when it's projected onto the ship. In that way, tinting them, or making them tintable will probably make some of them quite ugly. They can always be individually set, though, so that only the ones that take tinting well will be colorizable, while the rest will not be. Adding in more decals, then, becomes a choice of "do we want to be able to color this one to our taste, or do we want it to be a set pallette?"
4. Colorizable should mean you'd be able to tint them with the color picker, like you can with clothing and accessories. The only way that might be problematic is if the client doesn't bring up the color picking panel like it should, but honestly, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work just fine.
5. Our public image is hurting? Really? Wow, I guess we should all just pack it in, and call it done, then. I mean, with people crying out in anguish over not getting to keep everything that makes it's way into the game in error, how could we possibly continue development? I know RandomPlayerX's insistence of a conspiracy against them getting something via an error sure makes MY fingers stop working when I reach for the keyboard. *disappointed sigh* I'm very sad to see that sort of attempt at an argument even considered, much less posted. Now I remember why I gave up keeping up to date on the forums. That's definitely enough for me, hahah. Enjoy.
6. I'm not on the item team, so don't think I'm going to wipe things when I post. That's not my area to cover. My point is very simple. It's a test phase, and part of a test phase is wiping out things that are bugged to ensure the bugfix actually worked. If you can't see how removing the items fits into testing, I'm afraid you may not have a full picture of what that "big picture" is. That's not a dig at any of you, either, so don't misunderstand it. When you're just trying to enjoy yourself in a game, it's easy to overlook just how interconnected everything is. Whatever is decided, though, is it really that big a deal to the few who would be affected? I know for many, it's not. If it were up to me, I'd remove all offending prints and items all at once, but that's also assuming people have reported them all. As far as the act of removal itself, it's very quick. Repairing the error is sometimes more involved, but it's not taking any important dev time from anything critical, so that point is completely moot.
7. Wow, all of this over fixing what is universally acknowledged as an error, to begin with. I'm amazed that everyone seems to be overlooking the fact that we're pre-alpha, and everything is subject to change and/or deletion. Makes me wonder what sort of completely baseless outrage there's going to be when we're ready for a complete player data wipe? Trust me, everyone. It's not a select few situations getting corrected, and it's not favoritism. -EVERYTHING- that is out of place, or in error, will eventually be corrected, or removed. This includes everyone. Now, am I saying that these errors are game breaking in the pre-alpha stage? No, of course not. What I -am- saying, is that things of this nature should be expected. And if we let everyone gather and keep these prints and items, etc...how exactly are we supposed to know for sure that the error which made it available isn't still an issue? Personally, I do understand the frustration from a player's perspective. However, that doesn't change the fact that this game is nowhere near a finished product. That fact has been made quite clear all over the website. If the possibility of having your data reset at any time to a large range of possible degrees is too much for you to handle, perhaps you shouldn't play an unfinished game in a test phase. If you've ever been in any sort of Alpha or Beta testing at all, in any game, or professionally for any game company...you should understand already. If this project is your very first time in any sort of test phase at all, please read through the above statements again and consider them. We've opened up this game for the players to enjoy, and to help us track down problems, but you are -all- testers in an unfinished project. Try and keep that in mind.
I think that's a great idea, I like doing missions from the simple to the Zach Garrett level of missions. There should be NPCs in many locations, that need some work done, and are willing to reward players for doing so. I remember an NPC in N7 (during live) who was kinda seedy, who was around for 2 patch cycles, the first to give a mission to investigate some other NPCs, the second to give you a reward of a DigiApogee device, and afterwards departed for "parts unknown". Can't remember his name, but his mission requred going to various NPCs and questioning them.
That's exactly what I had in memory, when I wrote my previous post.

I like that. I had a similar idea for sectors that do not exist yet, but it would be nice to have some of that in the existing ones. I am also a fan of some more repeatable missions (perhaps a range of them, so it's not always the same one over and over) from more "civilian"-looking or seedy looking NPCs.

Are you speaking of an overall curve across all stations (since they are interlinked through computer networks), or are you talking more along the lines of particular stations being a little more...biased or questionable in their intentions and clientele?
11. Grinder?! You'll make them play free Korean MMOs?! Harsh. Need to add that to my list of tortures.
12. Oooo, forced calls to tech support. Man, that's cruel. I like it.
13. Eh, personally, I don't see what the fuss is. It's not difficult to manage field density, or spread at all. Things have changed a bit, I'm sure, and one of the other devs might be able to correct me some, but here is how it worked when I was actively using the sector editor: You don't define an area, you define a center point. Area is defined by a shape and radius set from the center point, and density is handled by a minimum and maximum asteroid count variable. In general, fields that appear too dense or too sparse are usually a product of the dev who put them in simply not balancing the numbers very well, or perhaps even not having had the time or memory to go back and check them. There was also one or two times when particular people took it upon themselves to make elaborate fields that were horribly dense, without ever actually having logged in to look at the fields in-game. (That stopped quite a while ago, thankfully)
14. If the fields are set up correctly, they shouldn't be as close together as 2.5k very often... >_>
15. Animations were probably a problem because of a lack of information. EnB's animation system is a bit on the non-standard side. The biggest problem in my view is the referencing among the game's many control files. Some of them are a little on the convoluted side, but things do not function correctly without them being properly referenced and assigned. This is something that is doable, but the effort is best saved for a later date. Additionally, high poly counts do not always equal "better". There are a lot of ways to improve the models by smaller amounts, and still have the end result appear as a drastic upgrade. As I said above, though, these are things that are best saved for a later time, when all the game's mechanics an code are all up to the best of conditions.

These aren't the negotiations you were hoping for. *hand wave*
18. I resolve to do something nifty with some project at some point. I also resolve to remain as frustratingly vague as ever I have been.
19. I'm with CDel, I fail to see the problem. Seems like a lighthearted prod to me, and nothing more.
20. That last statement assumes there is not already a plan or direction in mind.
21. Agreed. The whole idea of time change is antiquated and completely without worth.
22. Some people just need something to fill their need for drama and conspiracy. Some have valid concerns. Others still are as dim as sheep, and believe whatever they are told by people who "know" the situations behinds the scenes, despite having no part in it, or having been a source of problems in the past all on their own. Clearly, people who are guilty of something would NEVER lie about the issue, or at the very least, see it all from a biased point of view, right? Right. In any case, it's all rather inconsequential at this time. Avani and Sui have it right.
23. Is not laughing with you. She's laughing AT you.

24. Hahahah, how cute! You don't jump to conclusions? So you would never assume that you know how long someone else has been around, who they are, or that anyone cares about how long you have been watching the project, eh? I love these boards, hahaha! <3
