1. The idea with lv 8 reactors looks really good at first sight. They look like a silver urn with red color ("Silvr urn wiz red") so the description fits perfect. There are several reactors to choose from. Pirate (Blacksun): Sentinel's Dynamo. Sparta: Warriors Heart/Pride, Thedosius, Julius, Augustus. Mordana: Juggernaut, Vulture.   Now, since the Blacksun seems to be the first part, the idea of handing him 3 Sentinel's Dynamo seems like a good one, BUT no one can manufacture it and it is unique. Unfortunately I don't think there is any other Blacksun lv 8 reactor so that means that either it's not Blacksun or it's not reactors that he wants.   It is of course possible that the common theme is not that it is the same kind of item, ie three different reactors. So it could be that the Blacksun one is weapons, Sparta shields and Mordana reactors, for example. What we do know however is the following: The items are lv 8. They are not unique (since you must give him three). They are manufacturable. They might have to be self made, ie it's something your class can manufacture (and with that I assume differnt classes gets different mission at this point). This could also be interpreted as they just need to be player made however.   Then we have the "an not privtr" which could mean that its not useable by Privateers (ie progen traders or traders from any race). Then again it can mean something entirely different so I wouldnt limit myself because of that at this stage.   A long shot worth trying for Blacksung might be lv 8 Platinum Shields. It's silver and red atleast.   Good luck and keep us updated!
2. It's not all ammo, just player made. Player made ammo will sometimes display the same damage as non-player made. I haven't actually checked if it does less damage though, it might be just a display bug. Player made bile ammo should be 235 damage, not 181 as in the picture below.
3.
9:00 pm UK time, what's that for the civilized world?
9:00 pm.
4. Personally, I feel that the whole idea of "protecting" children from words like 'shit' is hillarious and the ultimate parental fail, but still, if that is the rule, I'll do my best to follow it. A much bigger problem, however, and probably what made the OP post here in the first place, is that so many in game think that they somehow have the right to police this and verbaly attack someone who breaks a rule. I have seen this happen many times online and too often it has been nothing short of harassment, applauded by others in the chat with GM's clearly present (allthough not actively taking part). I have never seen a GM step in and say "Stop it, this is harassment!". And all those who think its an outrage to say 'shit' but ok to bully someone... Please, dont talk of "keeping children safe", then one you are harassming might be a little kid.
5.
The point Red was trying to make is that the fun and enjoyment is in the journey and not the destination.
The problem is that when you have done it a few times already it isn't much of a journey. It's more like a daily commute that you just want to get over and done with. That being said though, I don't find EnB any harder to level than most other MMO's. Sure, there isn't much questing to speak of so it's more a matter of combat/mining/trade but it is still a fairly smooth and quick process if you have a rough idea of how to get the most xp at a certain level. //Clavain
6. Ah, curse them WoW players! Who else could use such foul language? The /ignore option is by far the best option when you do not like someones foul language. I just wish there was such a command in real life aswell. //Basileus
7.
Agreed! Pretty much what i meant
Then again, anyone can make a misstake... If the solution is easy to code then I can't think of any reason to not do it. The attitude that people are stupid and have themselves to blame is kind of silly in my opinion. //Leandra
8.
The biggest problem with the economy in the small player-base thus a lack of new customers. There are very few high level toons that still need equipment IMO.
I think this sums it up pretty well and I belive that this will be a continuing problem. With such a small player base it will be very hard to have a working economy, and to be honest is was kind of broken already in live. To have a working economy I think that there has to be done some major, very unpopular, changes to building and looting. Unfortunateluy, no matter how you do it I fear that it will be the casual players who has to pay the price in the end. Maybe we should start by discussing what it is that we actualy want out of the economy and set some realistic goals? //Basileus

B? Please

Like so many others I loved the original EnB but that is not to say that it was flawless. In fact, its not a very well designed game, but love is blind. The missions in the original EnB wasn't much to shout about. Some good ones were added eventually, in particular those that involved Der Todesengel stand out. I feel that the fact that someone puts so much time and effort in to creating new missions is just awesome. So what if they are long and complicated. I think that the EnB community have a somewhat narrow view on missions. It seems that any mission that takes more then travel to X and kill Y is considered a pain in the neck. Virtually every night someone complains about the lv 30 bonus mission. Seriosuly, it takes a few hours at the most. Isn't it good to have something to do when you are online? o0 I can't really understand exactly what it is that people want. One step missions with instant epic rewards? Personaly I would like to see more epic missions. Missions that I can work on for weeks! That makes the reward so much sweeter. //Leandra
10.
Hi The reason I joined the team was to try and bring E&B back was to bring E&B back as close to the real game as possible. I spent many hours researching each and every item we now have in the game to make it as accurate as possible to what it was in the 2002-2004 game. Therefore the debuffs will be staying on items as they were in the Live game. Riia
Well, while that idea might be considered a good I can't help wondering why this isn't done consistently. There are already items and much else in the game that werent in it live. Personaly there isn't much I would change from the original EnB but these debuffs is one of very few things I would make differently. I understand the idea behind them but they were so poorly implemented that it is beyond a joke. It is probably the most failed attempt at "balancing" that i have seen in any game. They just dont work as they were intended. In particular as the level 8 versions are often more than good enough. Also, it makes level 9 devices poorly spent talent points. Those that can use lv 9 shields/reactors/engiens do not have to put up with debuffs but those classes who are supposed get an advantage by being able to use lv 9 devices cant make much use of them because of these debuffs and the overall poorly balanced stats on devices. Since we have obviously already left idea of restoring EnB to the original since long ago, why stubbornly hold on to one of the bigger design flaws? //Leandra
11. I think you should take a deep breath and read through the first post and the replys to it because you are quite clearly missunderstanding a few things...
12. Technicall, I'm not lv 150 yet, but getting there fairly quick. I play a JE and have done 99% of it solo. I get EL and TL from mining (a tiny bit of dual-boxing you might say since I increase my TL by trading the ores to an alt). CL is a bit slow of course but still ok thanks to shield leech and combat cloak.
13. One problem with bringing PvP to the game is that PvP requires a different kind of class balance than pure PvE. I also feel that the game mechanics in EnB are a bit too "simple" to make PvP very interesting; in the end gear will be the major factor to decide the outcome of a fight (PvP should in my opinion be based on skill). //Wex
14. To be honest I dont think we need to worry too much abour EA. I find it very unlikely that they do not already know about this project. I'm sure they have a few people working only with keeping en eye on their copyrights and "hunting" on the net for things like this (all they have to do is google!). So why havent they done anything about us? Copyright issues are seldom crystal clear. If they should find it worth the effort to do something about this they have more to loose than to win. Imagine if this would go to court and they would loose (which perhaps isn't likely but not impossible). Then they would have opened up a very nasty can of worms. We're playing around with an "ancient" game that they have no interest in. We're simply not worth the effort and the potentil risk (even if it is small). If this wasn't the case we would have been shut down long ago. //Leandra
15. And there we have another reference to WoW. You guys must have had very bad luck. WoW is the only game that I have never had any griefing or harassment in. Sure, people will tell you to go to WoWhead or whatever (just as they tell you to go to enbdatabase here) because maybe it gets boring when people every damn day ask questions that they easily could have answered themself. Demanding that people should spend time guiding you through a mission (or whatever it may be) when they perhaps have very little time to play themselves or might be busy is a bit respectless in my opinion. In particular when you ask only because you are too lazy to spend two minutes looking it up yourself. Personaly I always use whatever resources there are available to find it answers myself and only when that turns out to be impossible do I ask for help. //Wex
16. I find it kind of funny that the response so often is "go back to WoW" or something similar. In particular when the behaviour displayed here is worse than anything I have seen during five years playing WoW. While I do not know the details of this case I must say that in general this community is living on its old merrits. It was a very good community in Live but now it is one of the most condescending and elitistic I have come across. You may not notice it yourself since you are a part of it and 99% of the people here are already a part of the fan club but as soon as anyone has any different opinion they get cut down just as bad as you like to pretend that they would be cut down in other communities. Time for a reality check. This community is no where as good as it thinks it is and it is in no way close to what it used to be. If you want this game to last you need to stop pretending that you are better than everyone else. //Wex
17. I have never understood how anyone can even have an opinion about what other people eat. And more importantly how people can think that there is a right and wrong. //Wex
18. Most mobs I have fought seem to use either beams or projectiles so I would say that energy and impact are the most common. //Wex
19. Exactly what is the official definition of 'Kill Stealing'? I am not asking what people think it is, much has been said about that without any real agreement, but I would like to know which definition is used by the GM's. //Wex
20. My expereince in Live was that the lv8 devices were already more than good enough so there wasn't really any need to use lv9 devices and when you add the debuff to that it's hard to see any reason to use them at all. Also, the extra buff they got was in most cases redundant since you would often already have another device covering that particular buff. In other words, the increased stats and the extra buff you recieved at lv9 was a very poor compensation for the debuff. //Wex
21. The explorer mission in VT gives ok xp up to EL 40'ish. Its a tad boring though. //Wex
22. I use WMware player which is free. http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ It works perfect on my system now although I couldnt get it to work with Vista. Instead I installed XP on another hard disk and run it there (ie with XP as both host and guest). It is very easy to set up! The only thing I had to change was the network settings. The default was 'NAT' which I changed to 'Bridged' with the 'Replicate' box ticked. //Wex
23. There are certain conditions during which the journey to orbit can be aborted and the shuttle can head back to land safely at Kennedy. Such a return flight will be more dangerous if there are clouds preventing a clear view of the runway. Also, mission control wants to be able to follow the shuttle visualy during the first stage of the launch. This is two reasons as to why they do not launch when there are low clouds. //Wex
