    MOB AI

Not sure if this has been suggested before but: MOB's during live were retards, made in a time when that was acceptable and nobody knew better. Can mobs be given a little bit more sense? Things like warping at kiters or fleeing from them if shields become too low is the sort of thing needed to get up to date. Going as far as having mobs use the skills with some sense other than "activate within range" would also be nice. For example using menace on a JE is less smart than on a PW. Just thought this would really flavour up the mobs compared to live. Like most suggestions this one probably falls under the "in the distant future" category
  2. Kiting is easy enough without needing a sitting duck?
  3. Like during live there is prettymuch sfa to do at that level except level to 150. What you do then is raids...more raids...and yet more raids. If you still play the game at the point where you have all ubers you can become a socialite. This implies hanging around f7 all day talking to people on all channels and making a build sometimes.
  4. Why would you want to hack a mob being kited if it cant hit you?

    Loot changes

Just noticed this thread. How about a loot randomizer for the group? Corpse opens, each item is randomly assigned to a player. After a few minutes everyone in group can loot it. A few minutes more and everyone else can. Would avoid a lot of bickering that happens within groups, and it would promote grouping with random people more. A loot randomizer for raids would also help in getting rid of lottos.
  6. Kinky. You are thinking like a jengai. We should cross swords. You are just in denial. There's a jen in everyone waiting to come out of the closet.
  7. Getting the first hit into a boss is different than solo killing.
  8. JD's are like angry midgets you keep at bay by holding their head with one hand and laugh. Short range weapons and level 8 shields = even loller than TS. The more you post about TS shortcomings Avani, the more I feel there is a prettyboy jenquai hiding inside you waiting to come out
  9. Shame on you Kyp, How could you not mention it was armed with this: Now...I'm sure scouts are willing to part with any level of shields if they get the mighty bacca as co-pilot. Make sure he frequently roars, and that nearby ships hear his cursing and swearing over the intercom without the ability to turn it off.
  10. Mobs should keep to normal ranges, mobs that can kite players are a bit bs. Would be nice if more mobs than was the case during live would warp at kiters. Now those mobs had attitude
  11. I stand corrected, EMP is useless in PvE minus one raid
  12. Plasma could also interrupt a mob's skill. The interrupt was caused by something taking a certain amount of it's max shield points in damage over a period of time. So explosive, energy and impact interrupted more often, but hitting low mobs with plasma had the same effect. As for the way chem and plasma damage is applied. Plasma was 4 or 5 ticks, and chem was definitely one or two more ticks. EMP did not do more than explosive damage. It's added effect, the drain reactor once shields are down, was devastating. Two shots of your typical type zet EMP ammo and a 5000energy reactor was down to zero. Useful in PvP perhaps but useless in PvE.
  13. All depends how it procs. There is the 70% from the skill and the roughly 29% or so from items. If the game engine adds the percentages then it would be 99% crit. But if the skill and item buffs are calculated seperately they would roll twice, first 70% chance and then 29%. This makes about 78.7% of hits critical, and not 99%.
  14. LoL Gobblu, a lowbie can be anything that hunts something much BIGGER.
  15. If anything having an increased size to stacks makes no difference at all if you don't leave base without a full or nearly full hold. Try find the right balance of ammo slots over cargo slots then you won't have so many problems with ammo not freeing up space. Leaving base with more free cargo space but the same amount of ammo is not going to increase time spent hunting. As you already said you currently have too much ammo to free slots quick enough for loot. So I'm not sure where the "bit flawed" argument is at.The only benefit would be for lowbies kiting rediculously high hp mobs, where you may use several stacks of ammo to kill just one mob. In that case you indeed do get to hunt (or kite) for longer periods. But is that what this thread is about?
  16. One major problem with increased stack sizes. Normally you use up ammo that frees slots for loot. If your stack size becomes too large you will need to leave behind a lot of loot eventually.
  17. A L8 shield with 70-80k cap is bs as that rules out all other L8 shields for the class. The suggestion is so...world of warcrafty.
  18. The only use level 9 shields would really have is for raids. Which is ofcourse the enb "oh-so-limited" engame...so I get your point yes.
  19. You might want to consider playing progen or jenpie then As for the topic... The crit does not neccesarily have to read level 5 = 50% crit. Could always be 33% crit or something like it at level 5. I'm pretty sure that only means copy pasting the original crit and changing some numbers. But crit is a pretty dull replacement nonetheless. Build weapons is pretty o-k to give scout, at any rate much more useful than crit. But build weapons doesnt increase the reason to have a scout in a group in say a raid. Would be nice if devs made a design-a-skill-contest instead of creating skills in a dark little room somewhere. But this forum is perhaps too inactive for that...
  20. There was a trick some people played on GMs I've heard it happen at least 3 times. You would sell your Hellbore or whatever rare item that was badly damaged to the vendor on purpose. Then you tell a GM you accidentally sold the item, after verifying this with the logs you are given a new Hellbore but at 100% quality. PS. Hellbore is not unique so making flagging uniques with that message only won't fully work.
  21. i did some of the lowbier-than-VT out of boredom for a short while vaguely remember weapons systems or weapon crates, drones or repair drones, toxins, waste/sewage and radioactive waste. sewage is def one of the drop waste things because there was an odd thought going through my head every time when releasing it and seeing steam come off the ship faintly remember livestock for one of the landable planets but may be confused with a trade run if it even exists recall grissom planet was one of the lesser frequented dump sites In grissom space the moon to your left as you enter from shepard had a drop site. liberty bell is name of the moon or nav you drop it near? nifleheim had a explore job but unsure what exactly AP and GO had satellite drop spots. Note sure if cooper had a drop spot for satellites or that the satellite navs are what i remember from it. Cooper did have a mission though and that is probably it. Shepard had a drop spot of sorts, would presume satellite as its a planet faintly remember one of the trade jobs involved DCO as end point at least one of the infinitycorp stations had transporting psionics as a job for the most part the lowbie jobs were a mere fraction of VT at efficiency, and they also sometimes had rediculous location to get to
  22. There is no noteworthy difference between the scout and JE for going into warp and flying between roids. If anything wormhole makes you a much more mobile and faster miner, and puts you at an edge when jobbing to level up.
  23. I like this idea, but only if gate turrets are removed and we can play level 66 tengu bosses.
  24. How about rebalancing engines HARDCORE instead of worrying about progen signature with solar sails. Or is this another self-serving thread?
  25. PS is for casual players who can't invest time into making a real warrior, but like to both kill stuff and mine. In other words its pretty fracking useless
