  1. The Net-7 Installer has never been meant to be run before you install the game. I never thought to try it but it should fail without the game to patch. Guess I didn't put the logic for that in there.

    Just Curious

In a longer list of things, but hasn't been a huge priority.

  4. ESET is an AV provider. We can't generally remove IE from our computers, unless we've installed Windows N (the EU version) for Quote 3, Kyp didn't say that, Kyp quoted someone who said that. Not sure if that's a bug or you misread it.
  5. A head's up folks.
  6. ^ that, and otherwise content updates can occur when we've got something sufficient to resemble a patch. We're adding some stuff soon but it's been a hectic year due to various family and life issues for some of us. Hopefully this has calmed down now and we can get some more done through the Winter.
  7. This is an interesting observation but I think maybe you need to qualify it a bit. What operating system? Looking in my Trusted Root Store for Windows 10 I have this and I have never intentionally loaded it on my own. The certificate root is named 'DST Root CA X3'. You weren't making this observation simply because the friendly name did not contain "Let's Encrypt" were you? https://letsencrypt.org/certificates/ https://www.blackhillsinfosec.com/how-does-lets-encrypt-gain-your-browsers-trust/
  8. after you delete it tell it to reset all updates? NOt quite sure i'm following if that's not what you mean.
  9. *shrug* Your call. Long term, I chose not to support this for issues a long time ago. We don't forbid it, but we don't come up with a how-to either. That's on you, can ask peers and learn how to do it easier if you aren't sure how to do it yourself. UDP is by its very nature fire and forget if that was in doubt. The client communicates with us through the net7proxy, the communication had to be UDP. If anything stops the packet or for some reason it fails to transmit it is what it is. It was not really designed with multi-boxing in mind. I do recall when I multiboxed in live, I had to do some trickery with the game client or it gave me some message about the client already running. Either way, in the end it is up to you.
  10. Make sure you've registered the account you have here with your account on net-7.org. This is a required link for it to let you play.
  11. Yep, see that other thread, I elaborated on it how to get the cert with google chrome, if IE is used you can get it from the lock icon in the address bar. Other browsers... good luck.
  12. For whatever reason it seems to be having trouble checking our cert status it would seem, so try the following: Open your browser to https://sunrise.net-7.org/AuthLogin, after the patch loads you should be able to download the certificate from the browser. Grab that and manually install it, see if this rectifies the issue. If not I'll be home on Sunday and can look into the why. An example in Google Chrome is to visit the above page, hit F12 and then at the bottom 'View Certificate' from there you can download it and manually install it.
  13. Point your browser to https://sunrise.net-7.org and download the cert from your browser if you're not getting it from some reason. Once you install this in your certificate store (install in local machine store if you're an admin so it affects all users) it should succeed i would think.
  14. To be clear, we don't really offer support on multiboxing. The server is trying to send packets back and forth to unique game IDs/Player IDs. I might suggest uploading the pcap for inspection but it sounds like your conversation is being terminated. Unfortunately with UDP there's no guarantee of packets, just the nature of the beast.
  15. All I could say is post a video, if you're doing what I indicated it will download everything that's on our patch server, so something is either not configured right or something's being misunderstood.
  16. Slayerman..slayerman.. hm nope, can't say as I do. (Welcome back)
  17. Good news indeed. Congratulations!
  18. Yeah Woody, what he said. My family has been riddled with it. The happier you are the stronger your body and mind is, the less susceptible you are to that shit.
  19. There is that. Don't get me wrong but "the net code" is considerably more complex than I think you give it credit for. It also works with a standards driven network as is, problem is most home routers provided by ISPs are quick configured and very rarely have much in the way of standards in mind as they do getting you on the internet so you don't call and complain.
  20. The CD will actually work for the game installation, but you still need to run the unified installer to patch it, otherwise you are correct the files installed try to point you to the DNS name for the EA patch utility which no longer exists. I do most of my installs from my game disks rather than the demo client.
  21. It's not to say you can't find a custom patch done by the community somewhere, but nothing officially supported. I'm not sure I'd trust community updates to OS security features.
  22. Would have to look at the certificate in question. Can you get a screenshot and post a follow up thread in Tech support? The cert we're using should be tracable / verifiable as it is not self-signed.
  23. There's other threads about this. Windows XP is no longer supported and hasn't been patched to support SHA-2 SSL certificates. Since MS stopped supporting it in 2014, we generally don't either.
