  1. Funny I didn’t see anything not civil in any of the posts; perhaps I am just a bit more oblivious to it at this point. I do think that something does need to be done to get the Progen missions into something that can be done by new players, without GM intervention. I personally would like to have some players I have played other games with come to the emulator. But in doing so I would have to suggest they not select a Progen, this is really sad as I can’t help them in anything other than killing/building support. Any missions that they may have trouble with falls squarely on the GM’s shoulders. In watching the chat channels the other races don’t seem to have near the issues that the Progen do with their missions. I may be wrong but I don’t think so.
  2. I not only read the text of the missions, but try to screen capture the dialog text as it flashes across the screen. I know the Alt up arrow will bring this back, but not after a log off or a CTD. (the screen grabs help here). I guess my point is that I don't think that doing a screen capture, reading and re-reading mission text to figure out some hidden meaning should be necessary in a game. I can see such complexity in clues in RL for finding a million buried gold doubloons, but come on LOL the story line can be advanced without the need to dissect every chat for hidden meaning or clues.

    Mob AI

I’ve found mob AIs predictable and even though the direction seems random (turn left or turn right) is so easy to counter that I wish there to be a bit more maneuvers in the mix. When a mob gets down to roughly 25% it starts a rapid turn either left or right to try to get behind you. This along with the graphic glitch (?) of blasting 160+ away is pretty easy to counter by hitting your follow when first engaging the mob. A random zig zag, quick left right… left right, or up or down on the limited z axis may be more interesting and harder to counter. All in all I think it sort of kind of mimics the last ditch save my tush moves of a real player. Oh and a mob warping out at the last second really is a bad bad idea.
  4. I have suggested this before but will post again. Maybe this time it will take root. If the purpose of the missions is to promote/generate the story line they absolutely should be voluntary and not mandatory. I personally enjoy reading the why and how did this get the way it is (story line) but my main complaints are that the “clues” in the mission text are very ambiguous, and I even found a clue to one mission in the actual text of the header of the mission in the mission log. This does (for me) the exact opposite, I turn the crap off and try to get through the mission as fast as I can. The multiple steps of one of these mega missions could be broken out into many smaller missions. This way you would not feel you need to be glued to the computer to get this or that mission finished before a CTD, mission update/change, or server update. I also suggest that Byakhee come on line and just lurk, watch the chat channels, see for himself the comments and the issues players are having with his missions. Another idea is for Byakhee to chat with the GMs to see what types of issues they are having correcting/helping players with these missions. I enjoy doing missions. I hate doing missions that are so confusing that I feel I have to do a screen capture every step just to dissect them to find some missing or buried clue. Clues that are intentionally misleading are not appreciated nor needed. The hidden missions requiring one to speak with every NPC to find them is also a big turn off for me. As I suggested before if there was some flag on NPCs that had missions for me would be helpful. Every other game I have played had some method of seeing who had missions I could do. I would rather just go kill/dig stuff than fly to every station and talk to every NPC to find missions. This does not further the story line nor promote explore. It seems to me more of a time sync, the emulator not being an hourly charged game so it makes no sense at all. Explore to me is to fly around and see what can be found, explore to me is not visiting every station and speaking to every NPC in hopes of finding some mission that can be done.
  5. Ummm depends on when you start them, when he changes them, and when you finish them. The "warning: missions are in flux" really is of no solace, when they change half way through a "mandatory" mission. As I have said before if the missions absolutely have to be so obtuse that the normal casual or new player cannot figure them out nor complete them, then something is terribly wrong with them. /agree There are Progen missions that are stated to be "not combat" but are completely combat focused. These mess with faction. This I have an issue with...the first few through the missions will give away the prize to those who follow. Letting the player's know why they are doing a mission and what is the reward is absolutely needed, most are so time consuming that the casual player, investing x amount of time for 20K reward for 3 days mission is just wrong.
  6. Very nice pie chart. but........ Wait! I don’t see the guild of Perpetual Whiners, there must be some mistake.
  7. Now that I have woken up a bit and had time to think of this CRAZY CRAZY post. Two things, Magoo and his group have helped more new players in guild and out than any other group of players on server. Fact! Aye this may be due to the numbers, but watch the chat, try to not get upset of how something is said but what is said. Great group of players. As for the Voncorp group I have never had a bad time from any of their guild, in fact it is hard to even find any, as they are so low key as to be almost invisible. And I am pretty sure even with you starting a new char. just to stir the pot, there are ways that you can be traced. Think about it.
  8. So let me get this straight, someone spent over $1000.00 US on time cards (or something that can be used the same)? And these cards can be transported around the virtual world on your virtual ship. These can be ripped off in the virtual world (via PvP)and not only can you lose them to pirates BUT they can be destroyed? EPIC FAIL!! Hell if I need that type of reality I can take a walk down State Street in East St. Louis. I will never complain about losing anything in here again.
  9. I didn’t take this as an insult to American aircraft at all. The fact is that these aircraft should not be able to fly (not without computer intervention) What I thought was the Bumble Bee, I remember way back when it was said that it was impossible for them to fly but they do.
  10. It seems to me this may be just the ticket to start getting miners out of their ruts... So a bit of wow factor is just what the Dr. ordered. And why would we want to keep these to ourselves? LOL every other dev is saying team up ...team up...don't solo ...solo is bad ...teaming is the way to go... besides I would like to share this WOW factor with as many as who would like to come look. Just my opinion.
  11. DAMN!!! Is this one of the super secret surprises?
  12. You can tune a piano….but you can’t tuna fish
  13. Hi all, One of my usual daily web pages I visit is having some problems. I’m pretty sure most if not all of you have been to this site at one time or other. It seems that just by visiting the site will help him with his advertisers. So if you can find the time please hit the site daily or more often if you like. Let’s help keep this site open. http://www.gucomics.com/comic/
  14. Having just started the 100 HU, I found a problem that I think should be changed. In the initial chat tree there was some mention of a combat portion of this set of missions. I elected to do the crafting portion first, but I found that I needed to acquire the shield to rip/make that was drop only. To me this IS combat. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just have it a vendor item? The mission would essentially be the same but it seems silly if it is called the “crafting” portion of the mission that it starts out with combat and needing to get a relatively rare drop. More later…………. Oh this is on my PS
  15. Don’t cry until you’ve been hurt.

    XP Per Level

If what I get from Suricata is that players are leveling too fast. Here is a simple solution, make the HUs at 20,40,60,85,135,150.
  17. I may have been one of those players, and you bet it was fun. lol I had a Ten-Gu follow me around cooper calling me mommy. LOL silly Harvey...What may be a twist to that idea is one day/night as players log in they log in as Ten-Gu in the FB. The GMs/Devs and Staff then come in to slaughter us fish. This may be fun. I was thinking that the guild leaders could be the Boss mobs (to organize us minions) with the lead of the largest guild be the Master. If memory serves we could (minions) come in waves...you get dead you sit it out until time for the next wave. When time comes for the final boss mob, perhaps there could be a timer and the person controlling the master could be alternated by a random player... I dont want it to get too complicated but............ If a little planning were done this could be great fun... Oh... and even the little players could play this way as they would be Ten-gu??
  18. Do we still get the pumkin chuckers? if so I am soooooooooooo in.!!! And not a bit sad the original idea has taken on a life of it's own.
  19. LOL, this demand is a bit different. I think we should have a GM day, a day where it would be hand off of all GMs. A day they can play without fear of fixing this player or that player. A day when the GMs can group up with their fellow GMs and have a good time. Also I think that all players on that day should get a pumkin chucker, this is to blast the player that dares to bother the GMs on this special day. I can see it now, 200 players blasting that one player with pumkin guts.... It would be a thing to see.
  20. LOL I thought if you could Google in China you could Google almost anywhere
