1. and the server status notifier, plus enb-emulator and net-7.org links, and what else is recommendable.

 2. while you wait, why not discuss ideas and bugs on the forums? xD
 3. about the distro of client and starship - perhaps a good idea would be to create a torrent, that bundled the enb client, starship creator, enb sunset patch and net7 launcher install.

 4. yeah it did, i sent a pm to a random dev.
 5. nice work stray. i was meaning to do something like this (did as text file to begin with), so i guess instead of starting from scratch, ill use your spreadsheet. my text file is here too by the way, the free office suites: LibreOffice OpenOffice LibreOffice is meant to replace OpenOffice, because Sun, the developer and owner of OpenOffice, was acquired by Oracle, and chaos issued - so the original developers left and formed a new team and new name, with the same code. likewise, the same happened with MySQL, which generated MariaDB. Java and PostgreSQL were also affected in their own ways. yay for proprietary software and firms *sarcasm*

 7. these is what i've been telling people to do, under Windows:

create account on enb-emulator.com and confirm the email
create account on net-7.org and confirm the email
uninstall crappy AV like Norton and Panda, because sometimes they don't like the emu (or you) . use Avast 5 free
install enb demo
(opt) install starship creator
install enb patch (sunset)
install net7 launcher
set net7 launcher to be run with admin rights (do that even with UAC off)
set release/client.exe, starship creator and enb config to be run with admin rights (do that even with UAC off)
set release/client.exe, starship creator and enb config to be run in XP SP2 compat mode (REQ on 64-bit editions)
run net7 launcher and let it patch the game, then close net7 launcher
check again if the executables still have the admin rights and compat mode, to be sure
run enb config to set resolution and other settings
(opt) remove shortcut to enb client from desktop (not going to use it)
(opt) add -noclassrestrictions to target path in starship creator shortcut
(opt) run starship creator if you want to use the new classes or save the char layouts for future usage
every time you want to play, run net7 launcher
- if you did it wrong, i suggest you uninstall everything, delete the directories and reinstall. my install went fine in d:\games\westwood\earth and beyond and d:\games\westwood\earth and beyond\net7 launcher under windows 7 64-bit and vista 32-bit. setting the executables with admin rights, even with UAC off, is to remind you when you try to launch them from within a limited account, and also, in case you turn UAC back on later (which i advise you do). reminder: always enable XP SP2 or SP3 compat mode for the enb executables when running 64-bit editions of Windows Vista and later at very least, or else you will be crashing and patching a lot. might be needed for 32-bit editions too, depending on service packs and updates. if a problem persists, force updates in net7 launcher by selecting reset updates in launcher menu; don't login for a while (10-60mins) see you in the game =D

 9. another idea - enough infection of certain class of virus (rare), could cause stronger mutations on mobs, causing a new mob to spawn and replace the older ones. like the halloween mobs.
 10. hey reading tien's comment on warp path topic, i came up with another idea - one that has for sure been around multiple times and i think also did a brief appearance on EnB live - the notion of VIRUSES. Types of Viruses:

there could be epidemics / pandemics of biological viruses, affecting organic mobs, making them stronger/weaker or more/less aggressive.
there could also be computer viruses affecting mechanical mobs and player ships, with random effects, like failure to use skills or equipment, or random ship behavior.
biological viruses could also affect NPCs and players, with changes of mood, speech, talk trees and such.
- the viruses would activate sporadically, or periodically, or be triggered by an event, and would occur in a random location (or fixed location, if set in motion manually as part of content changes), then spreading around infecting other locations, like navs, stations or whole sectors or systems. they would last a given amount of time, and then go inactive again. a set of rules would have to be created to limit the effect of the virus, how far they spread, how fast they spread, and how long they remain active. certain mobs, npcs and players could be more resistant or even imune to these viruses. Examples of rules:

high level players/mobs could have more resistance
high level hull upgrades could also have more resistance
players/mobs with high resist psionic could have more resistance
progen players/mobs could be more resistant to biological viruses, but less resistant to computer viruses
jenquai players/mobs could be less resistant to biological viruses, but more resistant to computer viruses
terran players/mobs could be equally resistant to both types of viruses (the middle field)
voltoi, zenrei, onis could be imune to it, as they look strong "psi" users
v'rix, bogerils, free spacers and ten-gu could also be imune or highly resistant to these viruses
psionics and mordana could not be imune (they were affected by poison back in live storyline, remember p3889?)
- On the player defense...

special Explorer skills, like Environment Shield (JE), Nullfactor field (TS), Repulsor Field (PS) could add and extra HIGH defense against these viruses, therefore making certain classes (all 3 explorers) more useful.
other special skills could add or not temporary immunity, like Impervious Haven (TT), Illusion (TS) and Turtle/Quickfire (PP/PW). of these, Haven is of the most significance.
some skills could also add resistance, though lesser: Rally (TE, adds Psi resist), Shield Charging (TT, adds Psi resist), Psionic Shield (JD, adds an extra shield), etc, because these mess around with Psi resists (except Psi shield i think).
and devices that add Psionic resistance would work the same as above - less impact on virus resistance.
(consult here a skill list i made from several sources) On the player offense...

the Analise Weakness (possible TE skill) could also play a role on this, by attempting to discover vulnerabilities, which could then be amplified by Bio-repression (add biological virus) and Hacking (add computer virus) - so Analise Weakness would act as a Catalyst/Debuffer/Amplifier of these skills.
Weaken Psionic could also be used in the formula, before Analise Weakness, as a means to improve the chain of events, making the Terran Traders more valuable.
and to go with the flow, why not 2 lines of devices meant to be used as virus injecting tools? one for biological, one for mechanical, to be used by a single class of characters, like Traders (any race). these would have less effect than TE skills, less chance of success, and less duration, and could or not be added up (replaced) by the TE skills when activated.
player injected viruses, such as those by bio-repression and hacking, would not be able to spread to navs, other players, sectors or systems, but instead, just to the local area of effect (and for a limited time), just like Hacking and Bio-repression are meant to work.
another thought as crosses my mind - make such player devices use consumable goods, which specify or not the virus effect. TE skills (Bio-repression and Hacking) could work about the same way - got consumables? added virus bonus. no consumables? no bonus, skills work just as before.
the consumables could be or not tied up to the Skill or device level.
last thoughts... i think of Psionic and Viruses are a bit closely related... Psionic and TE skills might even be what the original devs thought as viruses usable by players, while virus event could be totally different thing. probably many more ideas can follow this. a side note - this idea is even harder to implement (and harder to like) than my previous ones hehehe
 11. this used to show on the first page that opens when you open the build terminal.
 12. hey in live, everytime we went to the build terminal, we could see the last built items. the history stored like 10 or 20 entries. selecting one from them, would allow to manufacture immediately, by pressing just the manuf button, instead of navigating to said item. this is very useful for frequent built items, like ammo and components. definitely a wet dream for builders.
 13.
Number 1 is currently being worked on. Number 2 has been suggested and more than likely not going to be brought in until after the game has been finished. Dev's have shown they like this idea, but at the moment is too complicated to implement. 3 and 4 I do like, not sure if anyone has suggested this and would help alot to Guild leaders and Officers.
3 & 4 look good, but depends on the perks.
 14. cant login. does not crash, but does not enter the galaxy either.
 15. really nice ideas, i agree with all of them tien. this would make the explorer class even more useful, and even more important for the groups' drive role. +100 for those ideas the roid nav in ABA for example, could be a type 1 hidden nav, with higher sig, which would then make the warp path go south and bellow, without going all the way up, when doing Saturn<->ABB. suggestions: * the device (or device line lvl5 and up for example) could be explorer + trader only * the navigation skill would add this bonus at lvl3 or 5 skill, not at maxed skill lvl7, nor at minimum lvl 1. check the skill descriptions and westwood documentation for what could be the best bet
 16. some tips from a technician and admin: i dont recommend RAID 0 for sensitive data (whatever your files are, like photos and documents). try instead RAID 5 or 6. nor RAID from a onboard controller. either use the operating system RAID functionality, or use a known brand controller card, like Promise. relying on white-brand/"chinese" brands is bad idea, and so is relying on motherboard RAID (plus its all software RAID, still uses your CPU to do it dont' use SSDs for partitions that are written to a lot (swap/page file, linux swap, temporary files, log files, games constantly needing patches, etc)
 17. killing the bosses of each spawn/eave inside the unknown galaxy would make the remaining minions from that spawn/wave disappear that's why we killed the minions first, bosses last (besides the fact that boss corpses would need to be looted and lottoed too) timers on corpses inside the FB were always big. M*A*S*H tactics was the most popular method of doing the FB. it worked great in orion (not sure if it was designed in that galaxy).
 18. ditto on mattsacre also, don't forget explorers are also the best class for scanning.
 19. i did the other day =P was fun at level 100 lol looking forward to level up and join a fb raid, but this time for real
 20. nice tutorial for noobs. well done
 21. i agree with jarod. thought of that the other day but then i didn't post it exactly like this because i thought some players would "feel left out" for not having navigate and this bonus... aka, another controversy. kudos for the courage and for reminding i also still think that we still need a manual warp path override (shit/control click on the navs, like explained int he first posts) - it would be useful for the others that don't have navigate or for anyone doing tours or exploring.
