1. Yes, talk about bad timing. The fish spawned with extra deflects (or where buffed up) and we really worked to get there. Oh well, such is life.
2. Crashed again - 3rd time in as many hours. Odd things before the first two crashes - mobs corpses not showing up, and gate and navs not in the correct place.
3. Crash - and let me say some very interesting things going on since the patch.
4. Down again - didn't last long...
5. C, There is something wrong with the notifier. The server is currently offline (shows offline in the launcher and the main net-7 page) but the Notifier shows it as online. I have noticed similar behavior in the other direction as well with the Notifier showing it offline when it is actually up and running. I think this behavior was also pointed out in the Server Status thread. Lannister
6. Crash at 11:37 ET. Which may not be bad given all the oddities: Gating, Lack of Mobs, missing nav points / gates/stations, etc etc. Hope you guys can fix it up.
7. You get the print for the shield and Beam through stage I of the Agrippa missions. Once you get the print you can build or dismantle. The ahold and beam are nothing more than vessels to pas the override around in. A PS can make the override and the shield. A PP can make the shield and beam. A PW can make only the beam. If you jumped strait to stage II via an invite, symbol, or one time buy-in then you will lack some or all of these prints.
8. I have a slightly different view - I think a wipe may be exactly what we need to reinvigorate. All these people (myself included) who have several maxed toons, mapped about everything there is, and done all the content are board and not playing, and not funding. New content would help of course, but perhaps in parallel to a player wipe to add an extra drive to rebuild.
9.
Actually, there's no need to do an entire wipe to test the economy. All they'd need to do is reset everyones credits.
I actually like that idea, and the more I think about it the more I like it. There are people who have billions of credits, a reset of cash to some reasonable lvl (say, 1k per overall level) would sure be a great way to test the economy without resetting the game. I like it. I think I may have to start a thread on this idea in the Advocate section to see what everyone thinks. Lannister
10.
However! if you are annoyed by ore guardians that are respawning frequently to interrupt your dance, I am working on making them more level balanced and less constant.
Special request to look at the Sults at one of the hidden fields in Nif. They are the most cantankerous, aggressive, and fast spawning field guardians I have ever seen. Lannister
11. Then it sounds like you have larger issues with you PC and game install. Good luck getting it sorted.
12. Magoo, The problem with account collisions (Blondie talking through trader) is a side effect of using the local certificate - that and the related opt codes are why it is recommended to only one toon in local cert mode. Is your local certificate checked? If so, uncheck it and you may see considerable improvement. Edit: damn you autocorrect
13. Also, Don't forget that the Road Runner (not the plus) gives a respectable boost to shield patch and it is available and in game. Also at higher levels you have various other items to give the same buff all culminating in the Prismatic Dragon Wing - the TTs ultimate shield recharge buff.
14. I think we are skirting around a fundamental issue here. Yet the paradox is that the game is likely more enjoyable if we builders are not quite so helpful. The thing that makes RPG games (in general) and MMOs (specifically) work is the joy of overcoming a challenge or reaching a milestone. It is why we flock to job terminals, mission giving NPCs, and can plug away for hour upon hour trying to get a special item to drop. Same with equipment - I remember laboriously looking for ores, finding comp builders who had prints I didn't gathering comps and then stalking specific builders who had a rare print. The end result being an item that I treasured and felt good about getting. I see the same now. I remember a JE who worked hard, very hard, to get all the ores to have me make the Wrath of Kokura for him. He was overjoyed when it all came together. So the orriginal question remains. Are we builders who build for free doing a disservice to our fellow players by removing some of the challenge? Are we stealing some of the enjoyment of the game by mitigating one of the elements which is most important to its enjoyment? Would the game be better off if we all charged? I think it might. Yes, we may be too nice.
15. Crashed... Actually no - a very long very ugly lag bubble. The same thing was happening last night. Something is afoot.
16.
Static have been having a horrible time in the Fish Bowl recently. Some of us have found disabling sound in the game config seems to help a bit, but lots of lag and disconnections are making us less enthusiastic to risk our activation devices when we can't guarantee raid completion.
Alyseria, We have been running several raids a day with no issue in the FB. The buffer fix the TB put in did seem to help a lot. One thing to check: In the FB you really must have the packet optimization and prototype reorder enabled on the launcher. The catch is that one of the last several updates unchecked them so many people did not notice and plaid right through. Checking those should improve your FB experience greatly. Lannister

B? Please

Like or loath his work, I think Byakhee missions are exactly what we need going forward. There is an extra dimension, required cooperation, and a non-liner "screwed by your own bad choices" line here which can bring another dimension to the game. Yes, we need to get some dedicated progen Beta testers to take Byakhee's work and smooth it out, but I cannot fault what he is trying to do. We need more like this not less. When you come out of the other end of one of these missions, you know you earned that item, print, or upgrade. I would also point out that the real departure from live style missions has taken place has been around the building/manufacturing lines (i.e. Agrippa). Seeing as the Privateer was not even in live this seems understandable. He could not have used Live content as there was none. The above are my opinions at the time - seeing as I have finished Agrippa with all my eligible toons. A week ago I probably would have been passing out torches and leading the mob.
18. The kill the 10 Woden is even more problematic as onl one of them spawns and has a fair gap between spawns. It can take hours to get 10 of them. But the point is far, it is challenging and achievable. Just don't crash. Have a JE/JD arround to help.
19.
The Jenquai should be limited to only ionized The Terrans should be limited to only explosive The Privateers get all.
How can Jen and Terran comp builders get the ammo comp print? There are no stage II/III invites for comps.
20.
I didn't write these missions so I'm unfamiliar with the structure, but could we just offer a reward as a blueprint of that item instead of the item itself so there would be no risk of losing it?
Yes. In fact all of the remainder Agrippa missions do give you the print. This is the only on that gives you an item to print rather than the print itself. I can only assume it was intentional.
21. If you are a privater talking about the Substrates, then yes. However I have not heard of anyone failing them yet. Perhaps they, like the ammo for the TS Sniper gun, are guaranteed success. It is not dissimilar to the brimstone ammo. You may be able to talk a nice GM into resetting the mission for you once - I am not sure if a policy has been set on that yet.
22.
it would do but I have no folder called LaunchNet7 there... Sigh. i'll just suffer the list - at least the game runs
Since I currently have two of my toons in Agrippa hell - the thought that you are having problems brings a smile to my face.
23. Hello, First I want to say that I am happy to continue in the Advocate role for a second term if my fellow players see value in it. With that being said I do want to be clear and up front in that my work activity comes in waves. I have weeks of free time followed by unexpected, frantic, and near panicked activity. This week, for example I am in Ipswich UK after a call early Saturday and so will not be in game until Friday. This also caused me to miss the last Dev meeting on Saturday. In short I give the role what I can but there have been some gaps lately and for that I apologize. I have spent a good bit of time and energy focus on what I think our the two priorities of the job, and I hope you have seen some progress in these areas: 1. Distilling Player concerns/requests/desires into clear and consolidated feedback to the development community. Most of this comes from in-game contact, polls on the forums, and distilling common threads from forum conversations. This has had direct impact on development decisions and remains my number one priority. 2. Formalizing and normalizing updates from the development teams to the players. This mostly consists of taken output from the devs and posting it hear in the forums. This includes not only formal content update but some of the back end work around balance and bug fixes. This need ally more focus. So please let the devs know if you are happy with the work I have done or if a change is needed. There is no pride of position or ownership on my part, if the community feels a change is needed then a change there shall be. Lannister
24. Purported? Did I get under your skin? No, of course the economy is not healthy - there have been too many bugs that permitted people to get massive amounts of cash, and to high drop rates on Uber items making then not overly valuable. The principles of the economy are sound - it just needs tuning. Unfortunately it would take a player wipe to due that tuning. There is a school of thought that says the current economy is better. By having the economy flush with credits the standard of play rises in general. Builders can afford to build for free, they can get the ores and comps they need to do so, and as a result people have easier access to high quality equipment. An economy which is too tight bring out the worst in people - we all remember people like Webmaster from live. Food for thought.
25.
Where exactly did I say a decrease in credits would improve the ore market?
You didn't outright - you inferred it here:
I do believe it is somewhat indicative of the current state of the game economy. Most master builders have enough credits that the cost of ripping and rebuilding comps ...
The implication being a reduction in credits in play will make ripping of comps less attractive and so drive people to the seek ores elsewhere (i.e. the ore market). Did I misunderstand what you are saying here?
