1. I could use the Executioner's Hand, Zenshair Energy Motivator, and the Bolas if they're still available. I won't be on until Saturday most likely due to work, but I could make use of those items. Just look for Toaster. Thanks!

Timid Ten-Gu

I always chalked up most of the weird Ten-Gu behavior in live to the horrendous lag that would infect Cooper during live.
3. True enough. People still do that when they leave loot floating so people can find it. The coordinate system can be very useful, particularly for pointing people to ore fields and such that are off the beaten path.
4. They don't actually appear on the map. They are just points that give you xp when you find them. You can use them for navigation by pressing the "c" or "x" keys (if I remember correctly) and then warping to the target, but they'll never display on the in-game starmap.
5. I second the bit about the effort being extraordinary. I'm recently back and checking on things after a long hiatus due to medical issues and I'm so happy to see the game still chugging along. I even made a donation just to try and help in a small way keep things going. Thank you to the devs who have kept this going for so long.
6. Thanks for the reply Spode. I gave it a try but sadly I'm still seeing the lag. I installed the game on my workstation PC that has Windows 10 Pro and it's fine there. There's just something about what I have installed or the way I have Windows set up on my gaming PC that E&B doesn't like. I guess it doesn't really matter in the end because I've just been playing in the Windows 7 VM and everything has been fine. It just kinda bugs me that I can't figure out the problem.
7. I recently started playing the game again and I've been having 1 to 2 second delays in all actions within the game (looting, talking to NPC's, warp engaging, etc.) I tried everything I could think of on this PC so I tried the game on an old Windows 7 machine and it ran without any issues. I even installed the game in a Windows 7 VM on my Windows 10 machine and it ran without any issues I just can't get it to run smoothly under Windows 10. I tried all manner of compatibility settings, changed settings on my firewall, even disabled my firewall temporarily, changed installation drives, disabled SLi, tried different display resolutions, updated drivers. I'm out of ideas. The tracert came back fine and the ping to sunrise.net-7.org averaged 43ms. Anyone have any theories? System Specs: Windows 10 Pro x64 Intel i7-6700k @ 4.7Ghz Asus Maximus VIII Hero 32GB DDR4 PNY GTX 1080 FE SLi Samsung 850 Evo m.2 for OS and E&B install
8. That happens with looting too. If your hold is "full" but there are still partial stacks the game will go ahead and allow you to loot items but they just disappear into the ether. I didn't realize that until I had been killing mobs for an hour on a lowbie toon with no loot to show for it.
9. Any tips on what exactly we should look out for? I haven't run into a serious bug myself in years. That one actually crashed the server when I hit upon it and when I submitted the issue in a private forum message you guys were already on it.   This most recent issue seems like something a random person discovered and was able to do solo. Most folks that break the rules like that aren't obvious about it. I always try to talk to the GM's about things that don't seem to work correctly, but I also don't want to burden them with something trivial.   As it is I will continue to report anything strange I come across to the GM's and maybe even go back to trying to break things like I did during the Beta. At the moment though I'm mostly toying with low level characters and everything there seems to be working nicely.   Thanks for all the work you and the other devs have put into this over the years Zackman. I know I'm not the only one who appreciates it.
10. That's a shame. I use the heck out of the /craft command for ammo so I'm going to miss that. Back to one stack at a time like the old days I guess. :P   Hope theres a quick fix for that bug so we can get that command back soon. :D
11. I agree with CP. Mining can already be a chore, there is no reason to make it more annoying by adding things like refine failure. I think failing to refine a stack of level 9 gas and losing everything would cause me to break another mouse and keyboard.   Terrell has some good points that would make ores more useful in the future without making mining a pain in the ass.
12. It's the same deal with the level 6 Roc's device. The Database says they aren't currently dropping which stinks. They could be in hulks or something I suppose. Any info from the dev's on whether these are in game yet or not would be appreciated.
13.
We were told that the brackets on Agrippa content were removed. Was this a lie? Or is it another case of broken down communication between you Byakhee and the rest of the staff? Because it seems like actually, really nothing has changed with Agrippa at all. And that is very disappointing because its not what we were allowed to believe. Progens have two choices after the wipe: 1) Go for the end content, ignore the Agrippa content because its a road block to levelling. They will also likely skip the other Progen content too. 2) Slow mode again, just like the STs, alpha and beta. Sadly this involves on and off shelving of their Progens because they can't afford to gain XP because they might move out of the bracket. Oh and there's the other Progen content to do too. Caution level extreme! Or possibly do both at the same time. Two of everything Progen: slow and fast lane. Create two warriors, two privateers, two sentinels -- to do both options. While your end-game Progens are enjoying the end-game content, your slow-lane Progens can do all the middle-game content. But what horrible waste that is! Double characters. Double recipe lists. Double trouble! We all know what needs to be done. And we wished it were being done! Rip out the tokens! We dont need them! Set the minimum requirements for stages I, II and III. Allow Terrans and Jenquai to still receive invites to do stage II only. When a Progen reaches 150 they should be able to return and do stages I, II and III of the Agrippa content. There should be no barriers preventing this. None. If a Progen wants to do Agrippa I, II and III at the earliest requirements that is possible too. And then *importantly* Progens can also take part in the rest of the Progen content without fear of out-levelling the brackets or the need to create multiple warriors, privateers or sentinels just to cover all the content. Right now, the system is the same as before: bad limitations defended with poor excuses.
Amen Lot. I thought the brackets were gone, so I went ahead with leveling my PW and having fun. I figured I'd go through the headache of AGrippa after I got my TS leveled and could get my own ores. Now I find out that the brackets weren't removed and my PW is once again screwed out of Agrippa, just like I was before. Oh well, I guess I'm out of Agrippa until someone pulls Byakhee's head out of his rear-end or I start another PW, neither of which will likely happen for a long time.
14. Glad to hear its not just me I was touring my alts around and they all crashed gating into Grissom. I was afraid the GM's would beat me if I listed that many toons as stuck on a ticket.
15. I had the exact same issue on my PP. She got a symbol of Loyalty but that's as far as it went. I tried talking to Telum with the Effervo Quinque and the ammo for it, but all I get is a talk tree about advancing to Stage 2 through an invite which is totally unhelpful. After spending hours talking to Blacklung, Magoo, and Rack trying to figure out what the next step should be, I gave up on the whole thing.
16.
I know precisely what you are talking about. I've seen it happen in Cooper occasionally. I'll be fighting a bunch of fish then there will be ungodly lag, and when it clears up one of the mobs has disappeared and shows far in the distance as "unknown(0)." I'll gladly help you try and track down this bug.
A bit more background. I was looting when this bug occured and my tractor beam was redirected to point 0.0.0. I'm sure others have seen this as well, where the tractor beam is focused off in the distance. I figured this was just a display bug where the client lagged and then wasn't sure where to place the tractor beam animation so it defaulted to the center of the sector. This may be related to the Unknown(0) bug. Just figured I'd bring it up

Lag

I can only speculate as the cause and I don't have a solution. But what I do know is the issue with lag that I have seen doesn't appear to be machine specific. I've gotten similar results testing on my fileserver and laptop as I did on my main PC. My fileserver is running an older AMD Phenom X4 with a 7900 GTX and my Laptop is running a Core 2 Duo with twin 8800GTX gpu's. Since I normally run 2-3 clients on the same machine and only the single client doing the firing is the one that lags (I can switch to my TT or JD with no problems and they are running fine) I can only assume it is a problem with the way the server is transmitting data to that single client or possibly the way that client is processing the data. I apologize if my previous response sounded short, that was not my intent. I can just provide data from personal tests, no solutions.
No No this is what iam taking about... I've told everyone by now that my video card 8400gs is a crap card, only 8 pipelines what more can i work with and a dual-core cpu? But YOU!... in order to experience it further in time this lag u have to reach 5-6,000 VD rates before ur client can't handle it and let me guess u have a quad-core processor installed to with stand such numbers? You might have explained your testing in detail but u didn't compare it to other system hardware specs. I think it's a multitude of processor getting flooded with data packets and poor video capabilities that put's my client at a disadvantage. if you lag until 3-5000 VD rate then you don't need a choke for your quad-core! >_< So what gpu do u have installed? To help straighten this lil difference out. I still lag at or above 1,500 VD rates.
My system specs were listed on the previous page. Please read the entire thread before responding.
20.
Well mimir mostly im riffing on the "fail/success" of mission completion. Just because someone finishes, doesnt mean it should be a guaranteed drop. So long as its repeatable. I do agree that there shouldnt be a by level lockout, sounds to me like going back and doing the missions you missed while leveling would be enough effort to justify the reward, given the fail/success rate at the final stage. I was just disagreeing with the concept of "Oh, i did this and didnt get my shiny the first time like I wanted" I mean, im not gonna even try to calculate ammo costs and repairing/rebuilding of high level raid items to see how much my skull shield was. I know it took me almost 2 years to get it and 30+ tries, thats what I am saying.
You missed the point completely Ryle. The Beam you Analyze for the Exam is the FIRST part of the quest. It's totally useless and only needed to start the stage II quest chain. You can't start the chain without analyzing this beam. That's my problem when it comes to Stage II invites.
21.
No...even if you write a walk through agrippa wouldn't be a cake walk, it's designed to nessitate bottlenecks and interaction, even if you know how to do every bit of it..and manage not to hit a wall with bugs, you still have to "work".
One unnecessary bottleneck I can't stand are the "exams" for agrippa stage 2 invites. First you have to find someone with the invite. Fine, I understand that. It's expensive, requires a lot of credits to get started. I understand this. It requires a lot of Collegia faction. This makes sense too from a story standpoint. But did you really have to give the exam item a huge chance to fail analysis? Once you fail you not only need a new invite, but you have to pay for everything all over again. It was easier to map the entire line of Terran Advantage engines, and at least they are useful. If you are going to make them nearly impossible to analyze at least let us "buy" another one from the mission NPC without having to track down someone with an invite handy. Can you imagine the frustration of all of this? You spend hours or days working to get your credits and your faction ready to start this chain of missions. You acquire an invite from Market channel or from a friend and fly yourself all the way to Norstrand Vor only to fail the analysis. The rest of the mission is challenging enough without the analysis bottleneck.
22. Better flow for the missions would help. I was doing the stage 1 weapons and components on my privateer and got lost. I did every weapons mission she gave after hull upgrade 50 and all I got out of it was a map for some ammo. Then she started talking about Stage II agrippa. I assumed I was finished and went ahead and leveled to 75. I talked to her again after 75 and she asked for a PL I was supposed to have gotten the pattern for during Stage 1. I asked BlackLung about it and he said I don't get the pattern for the Effervo PL until hull upgrade 100. This didn't make any sense, so I talked to someone in game about it and he said I had missed something, I needed to craft the recipe I was given and show it to an NPC. I did this and they gave me a print for another type of ammo. At this point I logged off frustrated. When I logged back in, the mission I had gotten at 75 to present her with the PL was gone from my log completely! I just shelved my Privateer for now. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do for the next step and if I keep leveling I'll end up locking myself out of all the missions completely. I locked myself out of Agrippa when leveling my Progen Warrior, I'm not doing that again. I tried using a Stage II invite on my PW so I could complete that and get the ammo maps for Flechette. I failed to analyze the beam for the Agrippa Exam 4 times, said screw it, and went back to getting my ammo made by others. TLDR version, the missions are confusing and you have no idea if you have completed a section or not and there is zero guidance on what to do once you finally do progress. I've got no problem with needing help from others and complete these missions, but a bit more structure in how the missions progress would help immensely.

ok, I finally got my group together and went out to get some numbers from the Tengu around Tada-o Gate. My group consisted of my PW, my TT as healer, and a cloaked JD as looter. At idle on all three characters the data volume hovered between 500 and 800. I went over to Ten-Gu Observation Nav 1 to check on Desash and start some combat. I killed Desash and gathered about 6 other Ten-gu and went about my usual debuff and shield sap routine. The data volume started to go up. By the time group sap had gone off and Shield Nova was activated the Data Volume on my PW was fluctuating between 5000 and 6000. The Data load on my TT healer was around 2.5k and the cloaked JD looter about 2k. I then went to Ten-gu Observation Nav 3 where there is a larger concentration of fish. I went about gathering up 15 or so Ten-gu and watched the data volume increase steadily on my warrior to about 4000. I started Debuffing and Sapping the group and the Data Volume began to spike at 8000. After 3 or 4 fish died, more began to spawn and the lag started increasing. The data Volume fluctuated wildly between about 5500 and 8000. At this point the PW is useless because the lag had taken over the client. The TT was reading at roughly 2500 during this time while healing the PW and the cloaked JD looter was sitting between 2.5 and 3k. Just for fun I grabbed some aggro with the TT and it's data volume started to increase to about 4500 or so. At this point the TT and JD both warped back to safety, however the PW remained stationary even though warp had been activated and was soon killed. During their warp to safety the Data Volume on the TT and JD began decreasing the further they got from the battle. Once they reached the gate it returned to normal values. I got a jumpstart for the PW but his engines remained "unavailable, engine recovering" and I had to limp back to the gate on impulse. I assume this was because he died while in warp, even though he wasn't actually moving. When the PW came back from incap the data Volume was sitting around 2500 and the lag was gone, even though the ten-gu nearby started to attack once more. During all of this the draw on system memory was between 200 and 250MB per client running. It increased slightly during the intense combat situations, but not nearly enough to stress my systems resources. I hope this helps EDIT: The idle data volumes were taken near Ten-gu Observation Nav 1, no combat was taking place but I was within view of several fish. When Idle near the gate with no mobs in sight the data volume hovers between 130 and 150.

Lag has gotten worse over the past few weeks when fighting large groups of mobs. The way I usually do it is with my PW and a TT in tow. I can gather up groups of say 5-6 fish in Cooper without any problems, but when the group of mobs grows to 15-20 things start going downhill fast. It's usually ok for a few minutes when the mob count is growing. After a few activations of group sapping sphere and Shield Nova it starts to get progressively worse. The problem seems to be exacerbated when the ten-gu start to engage Rally and the animation is being displayed across 10-20 mobs. It's a very odd sort of lag too. My PW will get bogged down to the point where my guns stop shooting and skills don't activate. If I engage warp my ship will go through the animations but remain stationary. If I swap to my TT's account though she is fine, she can use her skills and heal my PW all day long while the fight continues. The only way to get out of this situation alive is for my PW to fly away from the area at full impulse while my TT heals him. I thought that it might have been an issue with the PC I was using when I first encountered this issue. My main gaming PC was down for repair and I was using my fileserver to play. I tested this issue again when my gaming rig was back on it's feet with the same results. My main gaming rig is a watercooled i7-2600k with 16GB's of ram and 3 580GTX graphics cards. Since the issue is not machine specific and it doesn't seem to effect the other 2-3 accounts running on my PC it leads me to believe that it has to do with the way the server is communicating data to my PW during these massive fights. There has to be a major bottleneck somewhere. I hope the description of my problem helped in some way Edit: Forgot to mention that this is occuring near the Observation navs around the Tada-O gate.
25. People are going to afk level their toons no matter what the distance is set to. You could drop the distance to 10km and people would still afk level toons. I'm not talking about afk leveling toons here anyway. I'm referring to mixed groups of miners and fighters sharing xp while being able to do what they are made to do. In live there were always combined groups of people fighting and mining and helping each other level. This does not happen here mostly because of the enormous lack of ore fields in the game. Extending the distance of shared experience could help alleviate the problem of group leveling in the spread out ore fields, at least until we can get more ore in the game. I'm not just referring to Antares either. It's every sector. I was in Niffelheim with some friends. There are some Nagifar near one of the high level ore fields but the ore and mobs are so spread out it's pointless to try and help each other because you are always out of range for the shared xp. This is one reason I maxxed out my JE and TS by doing straight mining. Getting 30+ combat levels from overflow explore xp isn't for everyone, and extending the shared range I believe would help more than it would hurt when it comes to running these types of farming parties.
