  1. If i'm not greatly mistaken, the env variable %TEMP% should do that on either system.
  2. Kyp

    DPS info

Kenu was agreeing with making the command available. (at least that's how I read it)

    DPS info

It's just /dps I believe Maniac, but right now it's limited to accounts of Beta+ level and higher. We can prolly change it without too much fuss though.
  4. not at all, I'd definitely recommend a full uninstall and reinstall. That's not even remotely right. Here's what it looks like for me:
  5. Everyone experiencing this problem, please try installing the current certificate: Without the proxy, many things wouldn't work. The login is only a small part.
  6. Kyp

    net7proxy

Download this, unzip it, and right click and then "Install Certificate" Then try it all again. Get another screenshot after for your post here if it's any different. This is just the current certificate but it might help you.
  7. that's an exception thrown when the system doesn't have enough available ram to perform the next requested action by the .NET CLR. Chances are you're either running a lot of apps, have a small amount of RAM, or simply need to clean things up. The two things I'd recommend are: A) Get a program such as Piriform's C Cleaner and run it on its default settings until it stops coming back with results. This will get rid of files in trash locations around your PC, it will also allow you to scan and clean your registry. Reinstall our Net-7 software afterward completely. Once those two things are done, try it again and see if it still happens.
  8. Wootage, BUt why should we implement a universal law (game mechanic) that FORCES the other playstyle or behavior to stop? This is where he's right, cherrypicking (as its called) is a symptom of some underlying condition. We don't chop off hands because fingers hurt, after all. You're looking at solving a problem between symptoms that can likely be better prevented by finding that underlying cause and making improvements.
  9. You'll see them across both, the more sweeping changes throughout Alpha, the fine tuning and fixing during beta.
  10. Terrell, Reasonable solution, but here's where economy T-bones your idea in the intersection... The respawns have to be controlled in such a way as to prevent the "good" spawns from coming back repeatedly, thus allowing someone to find a way to run around yanking nothing but good ore without having to actually look for it. I don't think it would be a problem to do, we just have to lower the chances of whatever has been picked from being in the next spawn somehow, thereby reducing both the risk to the economy, and the risk of cherry picking. Interesting solution, one that I will bring up the next time we have a discussion on the subject.
  11. Great game that one, inspires thought and lets you build stuff at the same time.
  12. We generally don't need you to test drops, because we have a team of beta testers do it whom have the ability to respawn the mob and continue on and get proper results much more quickly. And no, we intentionally hid things because we want you to discover it on your own. You're all welcome to make your own databases and share them, but we want to encourage the community to do things like this, not rely on a direct database connection to read out all the details of the game to you.
  13. Got a copy, you may do as you wish and we can investigate. Thanks.
  14. I'll make a copy of him this evening when I get home around 4pm EST.
  15. JoeTD, The closest tool you're going to find are the Renegade/RenX tools used for Command & Conquer, it was also built off of the .w3d (Westwood 3d) file format and shares a lot of similarities to E&B. As for the name of the file, I don't remember right off I'm afraid we experimented with changing them once before (and adding a whole second string of possible icons) but it didn't work out at the time. I'm sure its something we'll end up revisiting eventually.
  16. The toon has probably been blackholed, please submit a gm ticket at support.net-7.org in the ticket system and a GM will move you.
  17. Not implied, but explicitly expressed.
  18. If you'd notice, Q seems to derive more pleasure out of prolonging the discomfort of Picard... at least in the episodes I have seen.
  19. They could sell me as many $20 bills for $5 as they have in stock. I'll take the lot.
  20. If you saw the admin backend of IPB you wouldn't think of it as a "simple forum" lol. That's all I really have to add to this for now though.
  21. Make sure the away messages are checked for bad words and such. There isn't a mute command, or there wasn't the last time I looked at playerconnection (bout a month or so I think, was looking in it for Ranko for something.. )
  22. This was caused by a recent server code fix. It should be resolved with a fix TB did late last night. Try it today to ensure its still occurring.
  23. I think he's being facetious, there isn't an /away command, at least in the current source unless CDel has finished it.
  24. I'd say put it in a text file under their client/output folder, rather than this, honestly if you're going to save it at all. I don't think its necessary to do so, personally. Also it needs to check the naughty word list to ensure players aren't leaving naughty words in their away messages. ;P (Thanks for the note Rez)
  25. You can create a ticket through the in-game help menu, or through the web at support.net-7.org (they go to the same place)
