  1. I like the idea of making build engines somehow better, but more warp is not what we need, I think.
  2. Change some comps to require more gasses where it fits. Ammo propellants, specifically, make sense to me. If that build drones thing ever gets implemented in the game somehow, make gasses as fuels feature heavily in the use of drones. Or if you want a very simple idea, but one which has some elegance to it I think, put in a trade run mechanic for refined gasses. They'd just be trade runs that you can't BUY the trade goods for, you'd have to mine it first. Certain stations or planets might have need of specific gasses, and pay more than other stations for quantities of properly refined gas. Most space stations, for example, would be wise to seek out regular supplies of oxygen. Or maybe Arx Tiberius pays extra for helium just because a couple of the junior warriors think it's funny when Fortunatis talks all high and squeaky. That would make gas mining more worthwhile AND give miners a nice way to make some steady cash from their mining.
  3. I've never understood why people keep trying to ask for PvP in EnB. Even back in live the request popped up regularly, which made even LESS sense than it does currently. Back in live we had the Vrix, and the story about them was basically everyone work together and drive out the vrix, or we ALL LOSE. How could fighting amongst ourselves possibly make sense in an all-or-nothing story like that? I don't know what the Emu Devs have planned for the Vrix, but I kinda liked the whole universal enemy dynamic, so I hope that's part of it. I'm 100% against there being any PvP outside of arena zones. My reason for this: if any kind of open PvP system is introduced, class balancing will follow. Class balancing would ruin the game, as far as I'm concerned. I like this game in large part BECAUSE the classes are not balanced. Each class has its own style of play, and each class has its own unique benefits to other classes, and also dependencies on other classes. In my view, if PvP ever spills outside of the arena zones, that's my cue to start shifting from playing the game to mourning the game. Again.
  4. I voted that I want it, but there's a caveat. I only want cross sector pathing available in game. I don't want to see any kind of support for automated on-station movement or vendor interaction. All you should be able to do is manually lay in a course (maybe a small number of saved favorite routes) and have it take you all the way there, with the option of docking or not docking built into the route.
  5. My question to you is, should suicide bombing be a regular use tactic? I think not, I think it should be a very rarely used desperation attack. If you want something to use on a regular basis, stop calling it self destruct and make it more repeatable.
  6. 1. I think it should be EXPLOSIVE damage (you are blowing up your ship, after all), I think it should be Massive (actually massive) AoE damage to anything in range (range should be explicitly stated in the skill tooltip) 2. I think it should damage all trade goods by 50% AND destroy a random number of trade goods, as well as force each piece of equipment to make a roll to see if it gets any structure damage 3. I think it should garner 50% of normal XP debt, so that a high enough JS can actually completely remove the debt 4. I think it should completely incapacitate the PW, giving the normal flag or tow options, and if the skill does NOT completely incap the PW, it shouldn't be called self destruct.
  7. put it in a .zip and throw it up on rapidshare, I'd like a copy of that thing too.
  8. Honestly, with the racial mentalities available in this game, this would never happen. The progen are all about genetic purity and view the other races as inferior, basically they're a few concentration camps shy of being the nazis. The jenquai might go for it, if they thought it would bring a more evolved state of being, but looking at the terrans they wouldn't come to that conclusion, and history would keep them from considering the progen. The terrans would only do it if there was some profit involved. And besides all that, it too far away from the original design of E&B for it to fit.
  9. I'm with Ghent on this one.
  10. One day I ran 6 accounts on my computer, just to see if I could. It ran, but it was choppy enough that I would never actually play that way. That was on a dual core athlon black edition (2.6ghz i think), 4gb ram, and geforce 9800GT. If I'm playing one character by itself, I run 1280x1024 windowed mode, so I can still see IMs and stuff. If I want to 2 log, i switch to 800x600 windowed and run them side by side.
  11. I love seeing these on ebay, especially when the seller never once mentions that the game was canceled years ago.
  12. aww dangit.. now what am I gonna do with this thing?
  13. That's one thing you never need to ask for Kenu, cause you're likely gonna get it whether you want it or not, hehe.
  14. Personally, it never made much sense to me that beams had range based dmg modifiers. They're lasers (the energy ones anyways)! Light in a vacuum does not suffer any appreciable diffusion over a 5km distance.

    Factions

As I said, it wouldn't make faction grinding any harder at all. You could still do it in the exact same number of kills. You would have other consequences, but if you chose not to care, then you'd be just fine. Another suggestion I'd like, is instead of heavy heavy negative faction (or, better yet, ON TOP OF it), make it so that grinding can only ever get you to halfway through yellow faction with them. Then if you want to get green faction and be able to use their gates and station, you have to do a lengthy series of recruitment type missions.

    Factions

Having thought about this issue a little more, if I was to have my way with the inner workings of faction, I would introduce level-based faction. But not how some of you might think. I would make only NEGATIVE faction from killing level-based, while the positive gains remained static. Thus, if a CL 50 character kills very low level mobs to farm faction, they still only get 1 or 2 positive faction. But since they are killing the young & inexperienced members of a particular faction, that faction hates them even more, so they'd get about 10 or so negative faction per kill. Wouldn't make RD faction any harder to get. But you would have to consider the consequences, or find an alternate route.

Or we could even the playing field and put in diminishing returns based on CL. That way you'd only get faction for killing mobs that still give you combat XP.
  18. he's talking about getting to 100+ in 2-3 days, immediately after a server wipe. Which means no high level toons to leech from.
  19. This brings up another point. Mobs need a maximum limit to the scan range, after they've been aggro'd, and anything beyond that range is removed from their aggro list. And let that be the only thing that determines when they run away (unless you've got some sort of "run away in the face of overwhelming odds" thing in mind, that's cool too). Near as I can tell, once you aggro a mob, it keeps you on it's aggro list until you leave the sector, even if you warp 100k+ away from it.
  20. Not really a tech support issue, per se, but still kinda odd, imho. Whenever I come to the site via the main page and then click to the forums, if I click the forum link on the right hand side of the page, it takes me straight to the forum index, but if I click the forum link on the top left of the page, the first click does nothing, and the second click actually takes me to the forum index. Does it in both Firefox 3.6.3 & IE 8.0.
  21. Why not something like: if hostile targets within <range> fight & follow elseif turn around and fly back to <co-ords> if target re-enters <range> stop running, fight & follow end if end if so you can kite it as far as you want, but if you leave it, it just flies back to it's home.
  22. As far as what you see in the movies goes, it had the 2 main guns that they use against the tie fighters, and the ground weapon I forgot about.
  23. I never said anything got halved.
  24. Watch the Millenium Falcon scenes again. That thing only had 2 guns. The ship didn't kick ass, it had a good crew. It led the battle group because of who was on board. The stealthy aspect of it comes partly from being fast, and partly because apparently Star Wars ships had almost no sensors. Nothing like the omniscient Star Trek stuff anyways.
