  6. I'm curious if theres any official note taken on things said in the suggestions forum. Can a dev at least say this is a stupid idea and has no merit so we can all get along. Feels the suggestion forum is redundant if theres no real developer input.

  8. Kenu, That's nice but if only all devices had such a good tradeoff at level 9. Unfortunatly debuffs like scan blind, slow proj/ml/beam, increase ship signature and cripple reactor make an item useless compared to the level 8 version. To make lvl 9 devices worth it the debuffs require tuning either by reducing their negative effect (30% scan blind is HUGE), or by changing them to something more adequate to weigh against the buff gained. So for a level 9 device that gains +30 explosive deflect don't add scan blind cuz thats basically killing the item.
  9. Shaddex, Tenkaris already brought forward that engine Problem is that the Intent is far and beyond uber, and not "standard equipment". Therefore the majority of people will have no reason to upgrade. This discussion once again boils down to poor item design of Westwood devs, or better said lack of updates for them during live. A lot of items need seriously looked at and revamped.
  10. Shield and reactor stats scale geometrically, engine warp and thrust scale arithmetically. In other words you gain a huge lot more per level with shields and reactors than with engines. There needs to be more than a (futile) 250 warp and a tiny bit of thrust that seperates lvl 8 and 9 engines As with the level 9 devices, they were obviously made by a dev that fell asleep on his keyboard and rolled his head across it many a time.

This is farfetched and unlikely to get added cuz it may be too difficult or take too much time but: Wouldnt it be cool if your hull upgrade had an option to add just the weapon/device mounts and nothing else(and be changed backwards and forward at any time)... Several advantages and disadvantages would be gained: - No speed reduction (with current upgrades you lose about 20-40 speed each time) - No signature increase (currently your ship gains something like 0.1-0.5 signature per upgrade) Downsides would be: - No cargo size increase - No hull points increase Kind of a fair tradeoff if you ask me
  13. Those items are rediculously overpowered. The shield for starters, it would put the JD at 6 weapon slots, the TW at 7!, and the PW at 8... Also hull patch on a shield for warriors only, what are you on? The reactor is also stuff of a genius. It being sundari would mean a PS can't use it. And 95% sig reduction on the lvl 9 while the lvl 8 has only 50%??? Also, explorers who already have the least weapon slots will end up with even less - no sane explorer could use this. Did you just add all buffs you could think of? More is not always better. Players don't want yet more equipment that has better stats than previous equipment. They want different equipment with different stats giving them the choice to choose equipment that suits their playstyle best. On the upside the idea of finding a use for that vindis trash is good.   16. Byakhee, perhaps you are the one with misconceptions here. To point them out: 1) TW does not have navigate, so how can navigate be a terran skill?? And why do the TW and JW have critical targeting if it's a "passive inherant Progen race skill"? 4) You got me confused here. Recharge shields is to a PP what hull patch is to a TT and reactor optimization is to a JT?? Last I checked all 3 traders have recharge shields which is the defining tradesman out-of-station skill, and not an equivalent of hull patch or reactor optimization. 5) Terrans needed a way to supply their own devices? Just like Progen got a way to supply their own reactors and jenquai a way to supply their own engines? C'mon you gotta do better than that m8. Also during live the only two classes which could not build devices were TW and PW, so a TT did not have build devices out of necessity. 6) You base the weapon/device layout of the PP solely on a pattern, without looking at the gameplay repercussions. Are you a developer or what? 9) So get this: - Progen traders will get used primarily to dismantle items... - Jenquai trader have an advantage to analyze. In the case of an item with a rediculous drop rate - it's good, but only then. - Once the Terran tradesman has the print he is much better off than the other traders, even if only on average his build% is a few % higher. People will actively seek the TT over other classes to build for them as the bulk of builds will be from gear that is not exceptionally rare. This is very biased towards a superior TT - as if an extra build skill and being able to build both progen and jenquai equipment is not enough? All devs are cool and we all respect them so no hard feelings Byakhee, but don't write while you're drunk pls
  17. Bloodshot you are a genius, why couldnt the westwood devs think of this??? I mean, propect is the primary skill that defines explorers...it's only fair that warriors and traders also get it.

  19. This whole KS-ing thing has gotten overcomplicated while its very easy really. Treat the people/groups you meet in the hunting grounds that also farm on an individual basis. There should be no "gentleman's agreement" over KS-ing because that will only cause more whining and crying because it will be constantly broken. By treating the group/people on an individual basis i mean: - With people you're on good or neutral terms with, share mobs or group with them. - With people that dislike you, or you them, don't expect they will share mobs or group with you. In other words be ready to take the kill or have it taken from you If you can't comprehend the last option then either: 1) You are a member of greenpeace, thus a worthless treehugger who at the same time spreads billions of pamphlets that were made by cutting trees (a hypocrit pacifist) 2) You are one of those players who picks a jenquai explorer and then cries about being killstealed or not being able to kill much. (whiner) 3) You think think teabagging is related to drinking tea.(born yesterday syndrome) 4) You are a boy who secretly wears Y-fronts with his sister's panties underneath. (a not so manly girly man) Bottom line is share with your friends, but don't share with your enemies. It's a bad bad world out there

The only thing EMP has over anything is when you hit the hull, but then the mob is nearly dead anyway. Bad example
  21. GRETA IDEA!!! But why stop at 3 mounts??? I think it's much better that after the three weapon mounts, you get another mount per month, 1 reactor per 3 months, 1 shield per two months (with stackable cap and recharge!). Ofcourse to counteract this every mob gets doubled per month to keep up with the required kills. This idea is so good that I doubt a dev can't not add this.
