Nugpot
Anyone having Launcher issues? This just started today. Windows asks for permission to run the launcher and then nothing. Eventually this pops up. I'm running W11 on an older laptop

Nugpot
I don't know Kyp. Today it doesn't bring up that error. It just tries to run and then nothing.
Nugpot
Todays attempts: 1) Uninstalled Net -7 and deleted the remaining contents of the folder 2) Installed and the launcher ran 2 upates - itself and the client. 3) still doesn't run. Attaching latest screen shot and details from the error. ===================================================== See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid. at LaunchNet7.FormMain.<DoGetPlayerCount>b__8(Object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9168 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/Windows/Microsoft.NET/Framework64/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- LaunchNet7 Assembly Version: 2.2.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.2.0.0 CodeBase: file:///C:/Games/Net-7/bin/LaunchNet7.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Configuration Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Configuration/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Configuration.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll ---------------------------------------- Accessibility Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Accessibility/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Accessibility.dll ---------------------------------------- zkac8jwr Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.9157 (WinRelRS6.050727-9100) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. karu [WDL]
See if deleting launcher config files makes it better. Delete folders under %localappdata%\LaunchNet7

Nugpot
Looking through windows updates, there was this one the other day. May 23, 2023-KB5026959 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 21H2 - Microsoft Support
Nugpot
Finally figured it out. There were some corrupt registry entries. Deleted them and reinstalled the launcher and back in business. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
Kyp [LDEV]
Thanks, sorry for the delay but my next offer was going to be what Karu offered. Usually something like that is because a config file is corrupt and it is trying to cast some missing information to match a data type. Effectively registry being broken and pointing to a bad place would cause the same thing. Did you have an error while updating recently or anything? (Launcher, not windows)
Nugpot
Hey Kyp, no worries on the delay. I don't remember if there were any errors or not (other than gating issues in game where I had to force stop the client), but I now know to check the registry in case there are further issues
Righter88
Hi. Having issue with getting the launcher to start the game. I believe everything is installed correctly and updated. I get the first window to pop up, but when I I click PLAY it gives me the error below. Unfortunately, I'm not savvy enough to determine if the registry files ae the issue. Thanks for any help
Woodstock HGM [HGM]
change the client window to **:Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\release\client.exe. Gpatch is not a valid file

skitszo
net7 unified installer. doesn't make it to 2.45 version? am i on the wrong download site? using the net7 portal download site.
skitszo
ok. i did what Kyp said: delete the net 7 files. that gave me a new net7 launcher update. i have 4 local IP.s and double checked my network IP assigned. got that correct. tried to give admin rights to net 7 and EnB. can the config tools. got into server directly with the EnB exe by passing the N7 launcher. now i got in with the launcher. but i'm stuck in a smaller window.. guessing i need to change the graphics settings somewhere. skitszo
fixed. did what another person said to do. went thru and found ll the EXE.s and made sure they were all windows service pack 3 compatible mode; and run as admin. ran the EnB config tool not the net7 tool. and ran the native graphics setting of my system. boom no small window...... actually unchecked the window mode button aswell.....
