That being said our old dev/play server that we're replacing now are: S309xxxx and s314xxxxx (not giving the full names for obvious reasons). These servers are over a year old, which dates this one you've found as stretching to about 2006 or 2007(maybe 2008..). Sheesh.

  4. no temps or permabans can be traced to you, for starters. People have different opinions, that's just that, as long as you comply with the GM they probably aren't compelled to note your account's file too strongly.

  7. its a problem with the proxy itself and we're working on it. Nothing that you're going to be able to do except switch on packet optimization and hope your ISP doesn't block the larger size. That [b]might[/b] help you stay in. We apologize, but the fix should be around before long.

Well, in all honesty we have to get a start on balance and understand fully the strengths and weaknesses of the new classes (not like we have no documentation but they aren't all that refined yet). I must say that I can't speak for the other guys, but at this point I suspect you're going to see a lot more about the ring on the back of the Scout ship. I won't tell you what, yet, but its part of the storyline of the scout.
  10. There's a wild difference here that none of you account for in that situation, but mostly I suspect its because many aren't aware of how the games industry works on the inside. Lucasarts has a publisher-producer on every game product that isn't directly made by Lucasarts. Generally it's Haden Blackman (Dev Shug Ninx during dev on SWG for example). That producer can pull the carpet out from under any company at any time to protect the franchise. LA writes it into every contract as part of the IP licensing. I doubt they'll make an exception in EAs case (or BioWare for that matter). This is mainly so they can pull the plug if someone tries to re-write Canon storyline without first clearing it through LA.

  12. This may help sway the argument, eventually once we get a lot of the major stuff working we were talking (mind you, this is distant future for the moment until such time as we resolved other things) about creating new items for the 3 new classes to enhance their abilities.

  16. To answer your question, the RD were added by me at the request of Hexergirl as these mobs drop something important. There was also some documentation showing there were high level RD. Though to be fair, they should have been a higher level.   18. Ok yeah that's what I meant, it seems that the server is not terminating your tractor beam when entering the warp state (perhaps just the visual part is stopping)
  19. I think his point is simply either the loot either isn't worthy OR the loot is less valuable to you than your forward progression and desire to have debt.
  20. Ok yeah that's what I thought. So this is disabling your ability to cloak after you do it? If so that's definitely a bug. It would seem that the server is not recognizing that your tractor beam has terminated.
  21. At one point, like CDel said, we did put it out publicly up to the minute but it led to people trying to cause a fork in the community and take them away from here. At that point in time it would have been detrimental to the effort of getting the game back, so we chose to close down. Now admittedly we stopped sharing database up to the minute before that, that was because we wanted everyone to have a reason to play and not have a guide to everything from day one. We do plan at one point to compile a single server when all is said and done, I think Tienbau said something about it in our past. In any case as of now it is a lil bit difficult to get a local server running but in time it won't be. As far as helping, anyone who can show us they can do the work and is willing to submit that work is welcome to join (C++ or C#), heck even content developers in most cases but most people just want a fancy title and powers and once they show us that they don't get to keep it.

Another solution that always works for me when this happens is to delete the shortcut and make a new one directly from the Net-7\bin folder for LaunchNet7.exe Not sure to be honest what causes it myself, but running it directly from the exe makes it work without any other step (in my experiences when i've had it happen)
  24. I'm confused at how we "swiped the code", since it was all written here, save the game client which of course belongs to EA. I guess that's neither here nor there though, everyone has an opinion.
