1.
Run the launcher as an administrator. Windows seems to be preventing the launcher from modifying your client files.
QFT. Gotta love UAC (It protects the registry, the root of the system drive (usually C:) and Program Files (both folders if on 64 bit) for script/code based changes. If you don't run as administrator or the programmer has yet to set it up to request administrative priv from the kernel (which we haven't because we didn't have to do it with xp). It'll probably change in time once one of us gets the time to re-write the Launcher.

3.
Was just in lagged out i assume and then got the message that the server was down on relog waited about 10 minutes and its still down this on my end or the servers?
Keep your eyes on the server status thread in general discussion. If we know about it we'll usually post there. Thanks.
4. Moved the toon, try it again.
5.
Actually I have a new problem. When connecting to 87.106.131.253, it shows ONLINE-122 status, but its giving me the error "error launching client Details: Could not create backup of "rg_regdata.ini" file. Access to the path C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\Data\client\ini\rg_regdata.ini.orig' is denied."
Run as admin explicitly on our launcher, Vista or 7s User Account Control is deflecting you from changing something under Program files most likely.
6.
Ok, Hi, i'm new to the community, a bit of a lurker as i've seen this before and kept my eye on it. was trying to get the game up and running today and well that doesn't seem to be working. i understand that the server is down but i was still wondering if i should be worried about this issue. everytime i try to log in i'm being told my account information is incorrect... i followed the process and made sure my server was set to sunrise. however i'm still getting the same error, that being that my account info is invalid, and was wondering what i missed?
Try opening a command window, typing 'ipconfig /flushdns' reboot your PC then try to log in to sunrise.net-7.org.
7. Its up and functional, we're just having some interesting little DNS issues. In any case use this address for the moment to connect: s357482233.onlinehome.info
8. working on it.
9. The server was paused in debug, TB is working on the game stuff, apologies folks
10. Yes we have, but "play.net-7.org" will disappear eventually, if you type in sunrise.net-7.org it will save locally on your machine.
11. lol, go ahead, but Tienbau took it down, he's fixing something that woulda caused horrible problems.
12. TB did it intentionally, sorry guys. He's fixing something, back soon!
13. Blame Microsoft, looks like they forced an update and/or one of my compatriots installed them not noticing we'd moved you all. In any case, back in a bit.
14.
Is the reason for it to move to a faster and more stable server? Would be cool to see the new server hardware spec's.
The reason is twofold: 1) our contract on the old machines was up, so the price would have gone up considerably. 2) The equipment is better, faster, and newer. (All of which is mostly because of new equip.) Play and Dev specs: CPUPhenom X6 Hexa-Core Clock Rate6 x 2.8 GHz RAM16 GB Storage1500 GB Previously: we had 2 more cores, but they were considerably slower (old tech). So this is an upgrade, despite being two less cores (which we weren't quite using fully anyway) We also were able to get a third web server, and create redundancy so in the event we lose one again, all our sites won't be down and we can communicate with everyone (barring a failure of all 3 at once.. which would be nearly impossible, short of planetwide catastrophe) Hope that helps to explain the whys.
15. If you do not add teh -noclassrestrictions flag, the classes are well... restricted.

Loot assignment

There's already a way to do that. (Not that I know the command off the top of my head, mind you.)
17. Yep, that's what I figured then.
18. Try this: First open a command prompt: Start > Run, type "cmd" with no quotes and click ok, then in the lil black box type "ipconfig /flushdns" reboot and try it again on both sunrise.net-7.org and then play.net-7.org This should clear your dns and allow it to recache the info with the new locations. It's working for many i'm in-game now chatting with them.
19. Looks like everything should be operational, Let me know if there's anything erratic.
20. currently they should be both pointing to the new place, but we'll patch the launcher to change it for you within the next few days.
21. Working on it now. The timer says there's still roughly 18 minutes on your data being restored to the new machine. Alas, barring any failure it should take about 10 minutes after to restart the game.
22. Hey guys, Seen a few people mention that they needed to delete posts to clear up attachment space. This is not necessary. You can clear them by following these instructions: Click the arrow to the right of your name: Choose "My Settings" then on the next page "Your Options" along the left side of the page is a button that says "Manage Attachments". Click there and you can delete old attachments from your upload quota space.
23. I would guess that it does not Jarod, but I'll have to try to find out. The build list is a separate table, and I doubt they went through and removed the items from your build list, there are alternate structures in place that make sure you're highly unlikely to build an item beyond your skill level. (They power the "build difficulty" and if your level is too low, you'll just get a message saying you don't have enough skill to build this item.)
24. Hotfixed.
25. I think the debugger was playing login jedi deflecting all of your attempts, try now. Actually that may not have resolved it, sec.
