Alright guys, you've got to keep in mind that the Progen Sentinel is an explorer/warrior, the other two explorer classes are explorer/tradesman or explorer/explorer (Terran and then Jenquai respectively). I can't grant the TS an unfair combat advantage, it should not be tough enough that you would take it over another explorer. Something a few of you are failing to realize is that the TS as it is does not have all the skills I intend for it. Once it does, this will change the balance dynamic a bit. Also, in regards to the tech skills, I can take away devices and give them shields, but if I do this to keep them from being too powerful compared to the other explorers I have to take away a missile launcher. The TS should fall BETWEEN the combat capabilities of the sentinel and the pure exploration capabilities of the JE. All in all though, we're not quite ready for balance. That's the next phase, as of now we're trying to make sure most of the major systems are in and/or represented with the closest approximation that we could work out. Right now our big goal is improving the tools that the content developers who don't program work with every day so they can make more progress towards getting the game at a completed state. Prepare your hardhats for the balancing phase, it's probably not going to be pretty for a while.
  2. Being a Terran Tradesman and Lv 40 is the only requirement I've intended, and as near as I can tell is set for the mission, if it helps.
  3. FYI to all, the May patch should fix this all up. A mission that was influenced by a textual account of a player who completed it, rather than just what enbportal had as a reference. The requirements for the mission have been modified. The combat restriction has been removed and the only requirement now is that you be a Terran Tradesman. Be forewarned though, you might want to bring some friends or work out a little before trying this. The challenge is still there. =)

  7. Lol, looking to nerf the Jenquai's pretty little beams too eh? I'm sure they'll notice In any case, we haven't tried to switch it all back on in a while. Things might turn around eventually and we could end up able to support it all. Time will tell.

Please note that the official code of conduct is pinned over all forums as an announcement and anything you read anywhere else is invalid, unless otherwise noted by the project Board.   9. Sorry it's been a low priority kind of thing, I know its aesthetically appealing, I am a fan of it myself, but it was removed as a means of reducing latency especially where larger groups of players were concerned. We may try turning it back on soon to see how it fares but for now, we aren't.

    There was a wipe after the old server harddrive died. We were transferring everyone to a new play server anyway, so we thought to go ahead and start fresh.

  12. Fox, opening the maelstrom when the storyline arc starts prior to their existence would defeat the purpose of having them in the storyline arc, wouldn't it? The idea is not and has never been to take this game to sunset, it was to bring it back to a playable state like it was in live. Upon a few minutes further reflection, given the original definition back when it started what we have now meets that definition, but we don't want it to stop there. We want all the new stuff to work and be balanced. We have original documents to show us that all of this we have was planned for the game. For what that's worth those documents even talk of stats above 150 in addition to a whole other hull upgrade that was never implemented. Right now we are one major system away from being able to go through and start the balancing. Once the balancing is done all the story we have will be layered on and that will be launch. In direct regards to what you said, why shouldn't systems be added to provide more to explore and do? Many games have plenty that is not influenced by the primary story arc. What's so different about this one?

If you'll look up above where you find the tab system, you can see the brand new Developer Tracker, this will display recent developer posts so you can be up to the minute on news from the development, or answers to problems! We're going to continue coming up with better ways to stay in touch and keep you as up to date as is possible. Stay tuned!
  14. We're going to be releasing a forum enhancement within the next 3-5 days for communication. I'm busy moving things right now, ended up havin' to do this solo. Very time consuming for a few days.
  15. FYI guys, the mobs spawning at the moment you arrive and such will have to wait until our scripting language is fully implemented.
  16. Anytime you guys want to hit a new sector and crowd it, that's good for us, at this point anyway. Now once we get into balancing we'll have a lot more focus testing to do.
  17. netstat -ao in a command window, look to make sure nothing else is using port 443. <IP Addr>:443 If it is, I'd suggest terminating that application, as it needs to use this to connect securely.
  18. Click Launcher (top left) > Launcher > Reset Patch > Launcher > Check for Update. See if it will trigger your update that way. Must run the Launcher as Admin it seems with Vista. Right click it to launch it, Run As Admin.

  20. This one may take just a little bit guys. Aware the server is down for the moment though.
  21. Are you getting any sort of error messages at all in your logs? Vista's version of UAC plays hell on the game. Seven doesn't seem to have as many problems.
  22. Yeah foxer, but they got you used to getting up at 3-4am every morning. I dunno how you deal with that. Then again I am usually just losing consiousness around those times. AAS of Comp Sci with a programming concentration, and almost got a baccelaurate (sp?) in Multimedia Game Design, have just my internship to go, then it's off to try to find a job in it! (and of course, pay the college bills *gulp*)
  23. Have you run enbconfig as the admin? That's the first suggestion i'd give.
  24. So, do you see the login screen at all, or is this happening precisely as the movie terminates?
  25. Sorry, never run it in VM Ware, could be anything really. It suggests that communication is failing between your client and the server. Nothing much more I could draw on it than that without error messages.
