  1. All four of the Jovian planets have rings around them, but it probably doesn't really fit to do Jupiter, Uranus, or Neptune's rings as they're not anywhere near as prominent as Saturn's.
  2. Yeah, I know, but since Pakkrat mentioned pop-rocks I elaborated on them as well, as mentioning the animations in my first line.
  3. Yes, the sparkles indicate how long has passed since the field has spawned without being touched.  I'm not sure which sparkles mean how long it's sat without being touched.  The longer the field has been around, the bigger the field clear bonus.   The off-color rocks, for their type & level, are pop-rocks.  The difference is that in E&B Emulator, there's a chance of successfully mining a pop-rock.  In E&B Origins pop-rocks always exploded.  Each time you try to mine a pop-rock, the server does a check on whether or not you will successfully mine the pop-rock.  Your prospect skill & the level of the rock affect your chances of mining the rock, so if you try for a pop-rock, grab what you want most, first.  It's possible to pass the first thing & fail the second, or subsequent items resulting in the rock exploding.  In the original game, only some types of resources would be potential pop-rocks in E&B Emulator, any type of resource can be a pop-rock.  (by rocks I intend to include any item that can be prospected)   Exploding rocks can do damage, and in some cases kill you from full shields.  Pop-rocks can also give you a buff, debuff, or have a mob come out.  Any pop-rock can have more than one of those effects.  Damage from pop-rocks is absolute damage, so deflects have no effect, but distance does lower the amount of damage done, for the damaging explosions.  Not all exploding rocks do damage to your ship.   One other thing, what looks like one field, may be more than one field, as far as the field clear bonus is concerned.
  4.   If you're behind the mob and the mob is not equipped with missiles, should you not be hit, if you can cloak before the mob turns around?
  5. In EnB Origins Manes & Voltoi were immune to energy beams.  In the case of the high level (CL47+) Manes in BBW, were actually healed by energy beams.  Because of this energy immunity the Ghost's Edge beam was useless when mining there.   This is why I've argued, since EnB Origins, for Nishido to make Plasma beams, rather than having to use Terran beams.
  6. When it comes to L1 items and probably items up to about L5 or L6 give or take, simply maxing your build skill will get them up to 200% quality.  Now if building L9 items increases your quality for all levels below that need an increased quality, people will build the requisite items, provided, the number isn't too high, for reasons of cost.  I like that faction with the station owners has an effect on build quality.  Not sure if it has an effect on prices, but I'd like to see such an effect.  Said effect should be less than the Negotiate skill, but should apply to all station services.   I do think it makes sense that some items are harder to build.  The awesome items, whether they're devices, weapons, shields, engines, or Reactors should be more difficult to build.  Same for analysis and likelihood of getting a critical on said items.  Items that are "average" for their level should have similar build difficulties (analyze/dismantle), and items that aren't all that for their level should be easier when compared to items of the same level.   Would love to see more components show up on mobs or in hulks, outside of the major raids, even if they're uncommon.  I don't expect; however, that you'd find a Terror's Gaze in a L9 hulk, since it's the limiting part on DG production, and most Jenquai shouldn't have a DG.  Same for other parts that are on items that are intended to be relatively rare.
  7. One of the problems here is that we're a fairly small player base.  I don't think that you'll be able to build thousands of items, and find enough players that want said items.  If there are missions that builders, of all races & profession can do to improve their quality, that would help.  I agree with faction playing a role.   I can't really say I blame the people who wish to be serious builders, for making a bunch of L1 items.  It's the best way to keep the overhead as low as possible.  If I had to make x(1000) L9 items, it would be cost prohibitive.  Same if I had to make that number of items for each build skill, on a given character.
  8. I'm unaware of any item in game that doesn't require at least 3 parts to make, that's not an upgrade of a another item.  Of course the item being upgraded, needed at least 3 parts to make.
  9. Looks like the login server is down.  Had to log off due to a stuck job terminal, that wouldn't accept the /unstuck command.  Couldn't get back in, get stuck at the map screen.
  10. CFB would be easier to build too, given the difference in that front alone, would make it more popular.  I was only pointing out that it had the L9 impact debuffer, as one of it's abilities, not that it was popular. (that the Progen weren't without one).    If I recall correctly, in the original game, Tengu were immune to impact.  I'd agree about Plasma being the most popular damage type in the Fishbowl, the Tada-O raid, and general use.
  11. Progen can use the L9 Skirmish Omega shield which has a debuff of Weaken Impact (Activated).  For Explosive L9 debuff there's only the Sting & Salamander which are Explorer Only.
  12. In group or raid situations the JE's job is to support the warriors & traders, rather than being the damage dealers.  We get skills like Shield Leech and Jumpstart to help there.  We also get to group cloak, while the other Jenquai only get L5 Combat Cloak.  We have good debuffers in the Chimaera & Coma lines of devices.  Chimaera debuffs Plasma, Coma debuffs Scan Range.  Coma could probably use a little work, but the point of it is that mobs cannot shoot things they cannot see.  We get devices that allow us to transfer reactor energy to other group members.  So in a raid we can provide power, buff friends, hide our group members, debuff enemies, and Jumpstart other players as needed.
  13. I think that the JE is fine as far as his firepower is concerned.  JE mostly needs to be able to fight off orefield guardians.  The only thing that the JE lacks is diversity of plasma beam selections after Beam Weapon 7.   This same problem applies to the JW & JT.  I do think there should be some beams that are awesome, which should be rare & hard to get.  Occasionally a new awesome beam should be added, but for now I'd rather see more beams to choose from whose DPS is average for their beam level.  L9 plasma beams that fall between Pitbull Sr. &  Defender's Pride in DPS while having varying buffs & reload rates would be examples of useful but not awesome.  The devs are addressing this, they added an awesome beam a while back with the Made to Live for JE & JT, they have a useful but not awesome line of beams in the database that doesn't drop yet in the Jaguar line (L7-L9).
  14. Yeah, if I recall correctly Plasma & Chemical are opposites on this, in that Plasma gets extra damage against shields, while chemical against hulls.  The main reason that plasma is better than energy on a JE is that the JE can debuff plasma with a common PM item.  It's harder to get JE usable items that debuff energy, but if you've got a trader with you, the Manticore would help there.  All 3 traders can use the Manticore line of devices, but I'd expect that most of the characters that equip one are JTs.   I didn't catch what level JE we're talking about w/r/t beam choices, only that you're over EL25 since you've got combat cloak.  If you're CL50 get a Made to Live beam (6 seconds).  There are no parts that are both non-manufacturable and loot only.  Check the database for the parts you need to get one made, and what ores you need to make the parts.   The other 2 slots may have to be Pitbull Sr. until you can get something better.  If you can already get better Plasma beams than the Pitbull Sr. then disregard that beam.  Longer reloads will generally be better than shorter ones, all other things being equal, but it would apply the same as the JW or JT.    Shield Leech has a cool down timer, don't expect to use it more than once on a mob, maybe twice.
  15.   I wouldn't bother with energy beams in most situations on a JE.  Go with Plasma beams, appropriate to your level, and a Chimaera to debuff.  Shoot at your enemies from behind, if you're not shooting, you should be cloaked, or powering up cloak.   Somewhere in there slip in a Shield Leech.  (when will depend on your level, the level of what you're fighting, and how much power you have in your reactor.)   A Coma device is also helpful.   Now if you find mobs that are more vulnerable to energy than they are to plasma, then you should use energy beams.  Would likely be a mob with a pretty high Plasma deflect and no energy resistance or energy vulnerability.
  16.   Good choice, it does remind me of them.   When it comes to mobs, and not just the Tengu, I wonder what the devs' limitations are w/r/t what they can make mobs look like.  I wonder if it's possible to make never seen before mobs, for sectors that weren't in the original game, but aren't in here yet.
  17. I've used PLs on a JE in EnB Origins, they were useful in some situations, mainly when you wanted to keep your distance or formation fight.  They are complemented by Fold Space, (L3 Teleport Enemy) but you will find it difficult to get good range boosts for them, as most are of Sparta manufacture and are Jenquai Restricted.    If you're doing the PLs thing the best items in the database IMO, for boosting PL range are the Heart of the Dark One reactor (I had an 85% one in EnB Origins and it got Ninja's Shurikens to about 7K range) or the 5th Vector Reactor, I have only seen that one in the database.  AFAIK there are no Player Made range extenders for Projectiles that a Jenquai can use.  The most available ones that I know of are the Slime & Ichor cannons, which have nice buffs, (range, handling) but those cannot use Plasma ammo.   The best launchers that I'm aware of in terms of DPS are the Ninja's Shuriken & Ninja's Tetsu-Bishi.  I have the Tetsu-Bishi line printed on my JT (can't promise 200% on the L8).  I haven't analyzed the Shurikens, though last I checked they were available at Jove's Fury.  She can also build the Athanor Luna required in both.  The L8 Zet Projectile Launcher, not to be confused with the Zet ML, does have a speed & maneuverability buff. (Shurikens, in EnB Orgins were big & pink, so they do look a little funny on your ship)   I'd still advise that you max your racial weapon & key skills first, and do the alternate ones later, but I don't deny that they can be fun to use.  I do think that they need some improvement in terms of equipment support, and harder to find buffs (for the race in question) to make alternative weapons more attractive.
  18. If you want to experiment with projectiles or missiles, max your techs, racial weapon (beams), and key skills first.  This will take you well into overdings.  After that, then you can experiment with alternate weapons.
  19. Combat cloak was to double the unmodified beam damage.  Think of it this way, when you attack outside of combat cloak, you get the damage listed on the beam (as long as you're below 50% range) plus the modifiers for your beam skill, and any item you have that directly buffs beam damage.  Now when you do combat cloak, it's like having an extra set of beams (with the same ones you have equipped), but those beams don't get any damage modifiers (again assuming you're below 50% of range).
  20. Margesi Station, in the Scout's home star carries the Sculptor (Jenquai) device instead of the Badger's Claw (Terran) mining device.  Can this please be changed?  Also I noticed that the Badger's claw L7+ devices are non-vendor, while the L7+ Sculptor & L7+ Miner (Progen) devices are available at vendors.  Can those 3 devices be standardized on that front, since they're the basic mining device line for each race?
  21. The damage from pop-rocks is absolute damage (deflects don't have an effect).  I do think it is a little less if you're mining from a little further away, but not certain on that.
  22.   Likely the last Saturday of this month, unless the devs have reason to do so before.
