  1. Same here. Seem to get a constant 1 second lag every 5 seconds or so. If it will help here are my basic system specs: 2.6 C2Duo 4mb ram (not sure on speed but I can find out) Win7 64bit GeForce 260 (512mb) x2 (in SLi) Cable internet, last time I checked it it had 8meg download and around 5meg upload system is used for gaming, and very little internet broswing (usually gaming sites, but wife uses it for Facebook and crap sometimes). Run Avast! twice a week to keep it 100% clean, and do regular defrags and such bi-monthly.
  2. Sounds great! I noticed tonight one of the Dev said the current AAs were for code testing - are AAs back in hulks now (all or most of them) or are they being added later?
  3. Sorry Byak, but this logic is so flawed I do not know where to begin. Both Terrans and Jenquai have their ubers in game already, albeit harder to get (Hellbore and DG would be the examples). That fact aside, the Brimstone Ballista is already in-game and it is not only manufacturable, but also tradable. Removing the mission that rewards it will not 'head off' and potential balance issue. Progens will continue to have access to this weapon. A few "easy" solutions would be: Make the ammo Manufacturable but no trade, then stick it on a vendor in QAR. If people want the ammo they can 'work for it'. QAR docking is faction based again Make it drop from some high level mob (63+) with a ~5% drop rate, still no trade tagged. I know there is a cl66 Progen in Tarsis (I think its Tarsis) that drops nothing, have him drop this instead. Simply saying it is here but it shouldn't be so I'm removing the mission doesn't resolve the problem. There are viable options for new ways to aquire this, we just need to find one everyone can live with for the rest of ST4. We all pretty much know DT won't be added anytime soon, too much other stuff that is way more important that needs done first.
  4. Darkk is correct. I camped him to get a Tatsu for my JD and it took around 40-50 kills before I got one.
  5. Kind of hijacked the thread. Back to the topic - is there anything in the works to provide new/unlucky progens with BB ammo samples? Ive heard some higher-end mobs are getting buffed/altered again, what about adding ammo to their drop table, at a low, but reasonable chance?
  6. As Mimir said, missions are fine. In fact missions break up the tedious grinding in the game. (Personally) I like hard missions myself, as long as it is HARD and not IMPOSSIBLE due to various reasons (bugged mobs, broken steps, etc). I see nothing wrong with adding a FEW missions where you have to figure it out yourself, but atleast provide a hint or two as to what direction to head. And those missions should be optional, or side-quests to the main HU missions. And I hope this doesn't come across as hateful, but you gotta listen to us when we give constructive feedback. As per the discussion last night about upcoming missions, the main point we were voicing is no one, except that very rare and uninformed new player, will ever put precious skill points in Self Destruct, Repair Equipment, Enrage, and only a few will max out Shield Inversion. So the missions based off those abilities will rarely be used. Even if the mission story is amazing, and offers a nice reward people will not be able to justify wasting skill points for a single mission. *Of course Call Forward can effect that choice greatly, but that "cheapens" the point. Whole other post on that if I wanted lol*
  7. If it wouldn't take so long, a viable solution could be a mission that isn't being removed with the ammo samples. Something long, kinda hard but solo-able. We need (myself included) some way to aquire atleast some of the sample types.
  8. Just to clear it up, you have to CLICK the enter button, hitting the ENTER key will not bring up search results. That site is close to 100% accurate, but sometimes the patches/updates mess up the drop tables and things stop dropping for a while
  9. There was/will be some tougher zones later on (Fish Bowl, Mordana, Vrix, Most mobs in Blackbeard's Wake were all pretty tough in live). And raising the level cap won't do much for E&B. While it is still a great game, the design is very basic - its a grinding game. Sure you do a few missions here and there (HUs, ones with known good rewards etc) and "repeatable quests", ie job terminals. Raising the level cap won't change that. Its jsut more levels to grind. As far as the second half of your post, sadly the games last owner(s), EA, are assholes and would most likely step in at that point. My money is on the idea that once its all said and done, word of mouth will bring in a lot of the old players even if its only casual players. Like any other MMO, word of mouth advertising will make it or break it.
  10. The all around easiest class is the Terran Enforcer. It has very capable combat abilities and can level TRADE easy as well with you put points into the right skills. As far as Mining based classes, between the JE and PS I say the PS is better all around. The JE is kinda weak on the combat side of the game.
  11. Simple solution would be to randomize the spawn timers for all/most of the "world" bosses (GoBB, Warder, etc). Make the random 1hour to 36hrs, or 12 hours to 33 hours or some crap. And its not guild themselves that create problems, its the players. Asshole players will be assholes, if they are in a guild or playing solo.
  12. According to Logitech performance monitor CPU usage is at 90%+. Which seems odd to me, I would have though it would be lower than that... EDIT: Going to try a fresh install of VM-Ware. Its worth trying I guess.
  13. Here is what I run, two of these in SLi. Haven't had any trouble with'em. Only minor complaint I have is they are a little louder than what I prefer, but its nothing unbearable.
  14. Same OS on both systems. NET7Proxy remains active and running, (I assume) without me taking any action with client (gating/docking/anything) is causing it to not report much. If need be I can grab a SS of it tomorrow and post it.
  15. I have an usual problem, I'll try to explain it the best I can so here goes: I've been running a VM Ware set-up all through ST4 without a problem. After this past weekend I noticed my client would hang, it just becomes totally un-responsive. The VM system itself remains fine, I can use any other program, can go to any website but E&B just dies. This happens after being online for about 5 minutes, its not cause by gating or docking. When I first noticed it I figured I had a bad file somewhere on that install, and completely re-installed both NET7 and E&B (did this twice actually, E&B from the original disks once, and from a E&B Demo download). I've force updated NET7 three times now so I doubt the problem is there. the game runs perfect up until this point too. I don't believe the VM system itself is at fault cause as I said I can do anything I want with it after the game freezes. I did some more testing on it tonight and noticed this also: The client becomes unresponsive but is continued to be recognized by the server. After the freeze I was able to powerlevel my alt in combat 5 levels, even though the levels did not show up until I restarted the game (via Task Manager shutdowns). I get no error messages, nothing out of the normal appears in the proxy either (which makes sense when the server continues to award XP during the freeze). Probably not a high-priority fix since it only affects my VM-Ware set-up (my physical computer has no issues at all). But thought I'd post it anyways. Below is my basic information in case that helps Physical Comp: Core2Duo 2.66 6gig DDR2 RAM Nvidia GTS250 (x2 in SLi) 1024mb each 233GB HD Windows 7 64-bit fully updated For my VM settings I have: Network Adapter set to NAT (if I set it to BRIDGED I do not have Internet Access on VMWare)*** ^^^This is the only thing that stands out to me as a possible cause
  16. Just because it is a stress-test phase doesn't mean things cant be discussed anyways. The more you can get right/fixed now is less you have to do in later tests/Live. No point in doing something 5 times when you can do it right once and be done with it.
  17. Ok, lets say for the sake of the arguement, you did get the HB legit while acting as a GM. Why should you be allowed to keep it? One of the main points of this ST, as we were told at the beginning of it, was to see how fast players can level without an XP boost. When you start giving out gear you start affecting that test. The players are told many times "Its a stress test", if you wanna test you have to do it right or the results become wrong. If a Dev or GM resigns their position they should loose the perks of it too. You don't get paid for a job you don't do in real life, and the same should apply here.
  18. First off, I'm not ranting. I have all the gear I need and outside of some things that aren't even in the game there is nothing I would want. I don't guess I was online for the contest you ran, I was reffering to this one and 2 previous ones I was online to see (I did attempt one and swore them off after that one). As for the TIRED arguement of the Devs and GMs give up their own time to do this; so do the testers. Your time is no more precious than mine because you can write code, we're always told if we don't like it then leave and the same applies to you - If you don't like the headache and responsiblity then leave. And since you decided to rant and rave I'm going to bring up something I've been wondering about, and want to thank you for confirming: If that's the case how come YOU were given a hellbore by another GM about a week ago? I saw it myself, a GM flew up to you sat there for a few minutes (I assume talking and trading) then left. After he left you magically had a Hellbore. I seriously doubt there are other Wolftx players in game. You were not even guilded into the Dev/GM STAFF guild. So if you want to start pointing fingers and ranting, it can go both ways.
  19. Shouldn't have to 'deal with' some stuff. Every contest/give-a-way Ive seen lately (3 of'em) has ended up this way. It would save them the hassle of any backlash, whining or legit, if they just stopped. Or atleast if the leadership would simply tell them "If you are smart enough to do it right then go ahead, if not then don't even try!".
  20. While these contests are good in theory, they usually end up in chaos and drama. If a Dev/GM wants to run them thats great, but atleast think the rules through in your head and stick to them. The first person to win was a lv-1 alt. Then there was confusion on the last prize (A Hellbore) and the GM ended up giving out 3 instead of 1 according to their comments in chat. This isn't the first contest in ST4 to go wrong and unless it changes it won't be the last. Yeah it is a stress test and gear will be wiped yadda yadda, but that doesn't excuse poor judgement and planning on half this stuff.
  21. Hey LGM! I remember you lol. Yeah theres myself, Buyfromme, Data (now playing as Sarlacc), Moha and Guido. Think Curlyt is still around, and Marco was but he's gone now.
  22. Between myself and Juduz, we killed the Master/Dark One almost 200 times. The parts for the DG drop but not the beam itself. So unless it was changed with the recent mob changes in the FB, no the DG does not drop currently.
  23. Actually the original reason for having Standard and Daylight Saving time was well thought out, it just no longer applies like it did back then. But people are so used to it, changing it would cause a lot of confusion I'd say.
  24. Well the BB was what most of us said would be the correct reward, that or the Dragon's Fang would be equal to the CFB reward.
