Enb and Win7

Recommended Posts

I just ordered 64 bit Win7... is anyone playing enb on it how did it work out? anything I need to know, should look out for... it was funny cuz wheneve I ran the Win7 upgrade advisor about half way through it would ask for Enb Install Disk 1 (I just cancelled)... anyway, any info would be appreciated...

No problems here either, been running Win7 64 bit since RC.

You can get it working without disabling UAC though, I only lowered it a notch to make it stop alerting me when I made changes myself.

The biggest issues running with UAC enabled is the fact that you are running 3 separate applications from launch to play.

I would advice you to try getting it up and running with UAC enabled if possible, but that's just me :(

Works great, no issues whatsoever with one exception.

I run enb windowed, and if the window gets at all minimized, or hidden (like the show desktop button), I can't get it back up, and have to force crash the client.

Not a major issue, just try not to go all crazy!

Also running VMware with win xp through my win 7 box, and it's an easy alt-tab to flip between the two.

Running on Win7 as well no probs

"I run enb windowed, and if the window gets at all minimized, or hidden (like the show desktop button), I can't get it back up, and have to force crash the client."

Just open up task manager and switch to or alt tab to EnB widow should show up again.

I'll try the switch to. Alt-tab will highlight the border of where it should be, but it still can't get it up. Needs some GUI Viagra. It looks as if it's trying to restore the window, but just refuses to do so.

Right click on task bar and highlight restore.

I have the same issue on Vista

Also tried that, no dice =/ It's stubborn as hell. It rarely happens, I'm not sure exactly what does it, but normal alt-tabbing between windows doesn't seem to break it, just when it gets 100% minimized. It can "ghost" Aero style, whatever that is called, and be fine, but if that window actually dissapears, poof, can't get it back. Oddly the VM client running net7 through xp is stable as a rock regardless of how much tabbing or minimizing I subject it to ;)

I have that same problem. If you notice your mouse is stuck in the upper left corner and can't move until you alt-tab out again. I've tried to restore and move but nothing happens requiring to shut down from task manager.

i have had that happen too... but in xp... the net-7 proxy has crashed when that happens was what I found to be the cause... and then you ctrl alt del to kill the client.exe process to get out of it...

i didnt really stop to consider why this happens... but maybe when you minimize it creats a disconnect between the proxy and the client...

The issue that the window get minimized and dont come back up, happens for me also every now and then.

A "workaround" is to use the taskmanager, choosing the application (not the process), right-click then "Change to" or whatever its called in english ;-)

I also run EnB under Windows 7 64bit Ultimate with UAC enabled, Administrator account disabled.

Just set for the Net7Launcher to have it run as administrator.

The client.exe within the Earth and Beyond/release folder is set to Win2k compatibility.
