Use The Jobs System To Create Automated, Dynamic Content

Just kind of what it says, change from using the jobs terminal to pick up a job to using the jobs [b]system[/b] to automatically create roid fields, migrating mobs and fleets of ships, etc.

I think it would be most effective were possible to hook this into the sector broadcast system and send out the messages as PSAs (or messages to people with sufficient faction?). That way people would watch for the PSAs and messages and respond in real time.

For example,
[indent=1]"A (small, large, immense) fleet of Red Dragon ships led by a (highest level ship) has been spotted near Nav 7. All ships are advised to take precautions as they are considered very dangerous. A reward of XX credits is offered by the Terran Alliance to all combatants of level 75 or under for destroying this threat to peace. ". or[/indent]

[indent=1]"An (A group of) Titan(s) has been spotted near Asteroid ## and is considered extremely dangerous. All explorers should be cautious as these creatures are very territorial and will attack on site. The Sabine Explorers are offering a bounty of XX credits to any patrols of level 100 and below for destroying this (these) dangerous creatures."[/indent]

[indent=1]Lastly, and possibly most fun "A large asteroid field with rare asteroid types has been detected near (wherever) . This field constitutes a navigational hazard and also appears to be a nesting ground for a large group of Manes which are a threat to the security of the sector. The rights to mine the field will be awarded to the group that succeeds in clearing the area of these dangerous entities, and a bonus of XX credits will be awarded for protecting the security of the sector.".[/indent]

This would imo be a pretty fun way to add flavor to the game and encourage grouping, and in the future, perhaps could replace some of the static content.

I would say it would be most interesting if it were possible to make these entities move as if they were travelling through the sector and despawn them on the other side. That way they won't build up, and people may have to explore to find them. Nothing in space ever stays still, so this kind of activity would also adds a realistic feel to the game.

Just wanted to get that out of my head, it's been rattling around in there for days.

If there were no message broadcasted, you'd be seeding the area with random content that people either run into unexpectedly and report via local, or would have to explore to find, which is a definite changeup. Especially if the rare ores were mainly popped like that.

It would eliminate farming entirely and also encourage sharing - a lowbie explorer may not be able to mine the ores found or handle the guardians, making them have to ask for help. And a higher explorer may have no interest in the field and pass it along to someoe that would get good exps for the clear.
