Kataxx Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 The old days. I played this in Beta and then until it was shut down. Anyone else? Quote
Redbeard[IS] Posted April 4 Report Posted April 4 There are a significant number of us playing here that took the same route as you did. It was glorious then and it's just as grand now with the additions the devs have been able to bring to the EMU. The crew that put this together are truly amazing. We all owe them a huge debt of gratitude. Enjoy! Redbeard / Dusty 2 Quote
Kataxx Posted April 4 Author Report Posted April 4 That’s absolutely amazing. It’s a great game I’m looking forward to seeing everything again. Time to build a nasty Progen.. lol Quote
paul [BT] Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 I didn't play Westwood's beta but the original live game was my first MMO, I still have the game box on my shelf after all this time. I had to use my aunty's credit card to order it and to pay for the subscription to play. I put far too many hours into the game back then. I loved playing my JE and ninja buffing random newbies with every device/shield/reactor slot I had before warping off in about a second leaving them wondering what just happened. Sure I may have had my grumbles about the emulators dev's direction/priorities from a users perspective, but I don't speak code so I don't know how complicated this stuff can be. I'm just thankful that there are enough people interested in E&B that a project like this can start and continue to keep running after more than 20 years. Quote
Spa[IS] Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Started in Westwood's Beta, when game went live I had to wait for the game to be posted from England as none in Australia at the time. Was paying for my subscription and 2 others for guildies from Holland as they didn't have credit cards back then. Went thru till the end. Orange flashing just before turn off in Cooper. Started in the Alpha of this Emu. Was a tester for Evermore, checking MoBs and drop items and rates. Been playing off and on since. Keep coming back Quote
AZwoodman Posted April 10 Report Posted April 10 This is how long Ive been playing. I can remember the girls name but not the others. Quote
Valdaron Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago I started playing at the tail-end of Beta. Perhaps a month or so before it went live. When they pulled the plug on Live, I think I was a dozen skill points from maxing out my JD. I remember buying ten discounted retail boxes of the game to give myself Buddy-Codes for the 3 free SPs they gave. Now I wish I had kept some of those. Perhaps they'd be collector's items now. Quote
