AMD issues?

Recommended Posts

1) Run the E&BConfig.exe as administrator. Set the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2 or Windows 7.

2) Set the test to run in windowed mode at it's highest resolution.

3) This should solve the problem. Most likely you are trying to run it in a full screen and that particular refresh rate isn't supported.

Thank you, Arthurdent.. aye, I already tried that.

I figured it out in the end..

I ran the Char and starship creator program just for giggles to see if that worked and it gave a different error, that it was a DirectX8 issue. So I did abit of googling and installed the following file (directX runtimes)..

E&B is now fully running.. Yay!!

I hope that helps people!

Thanks for the update, interesting that Win10 doesn't include the DirectX runtimes. I wonder when that came about, if you don't mind: What version of 10 are you running? Windows 10 Home N?

Aye, they stopped installing separately was my thought too, so that was very odd. I didn't have that problem with 10, but of course I upgraded from 7 this wasn't a clean install.
