  1. Following a brief discussion on the in game chat earlier here is an explanation for those who didn't play the Pegasus galaxy in live about how these raids can work and how they can benefit the in-game economy. The benefits of the system described below are two-fold. Firstly "public" raids allow some raid participation for anyone, not just established names and faces and the big guilds. Secondly the system gives some much needed value to the in-game currency that at present is about as useful as the Zimbabwe dollar. This raid system operated in Pegasus server, mostly it was used with great success on the old pre fishbowl "Gate raids" but can equally be applied to other scenarios. For the sake of this example I shall describe a gate raid. Firstly the the raid organiser will call for participants on the in-game chat channels when it is known the raid is up. When enough players (usually it was 20-30 for gate raid) have signed up then they would assemble at the tada-O gate. During this time the organiser of the raid would "Auction off" all the big named items know to drop from the gate raid. The winners of the auctions would be noted and and all fees paid up front to the organiser or perhaps another trustworthy individual. As the raid ensued the winners of the auctions would be called to collect their item from the corpses as they drop. Winners of items that did not drop on this occasion are refunded and all the rest of the auction proceeds are split equally between all raid participants. An example of how it might have gone: Raid is called and 20 players sign up to it. Auction results as follows: (not a complete list I know, but to serve this purpose) HOTDO 50m FOTM 75m Wrath 100m Bulwark 20m Bastion 50m GOD 75m DG 100m. A total of 470 million credits is collected from the auction winners. Raid takes place, and all drop except for HOTDO and Bulwark, winning bidders for these items refunded. Remaining 400m divided up giving each raid participant 20mil for their efforts. This system worked very well in Pegasus for a long time. Those who couldn't initially afford one of the "big ticket" items could participate in more raids and accumulate more funds. The prices paid will vary depending on who's in and how bad they need the item but over time a rough idea will be gained of what is worth how much. I think it would make an interesting experiment if someone would like to try it out, the likes of Magoo or Vaden who we all know and trust perhaps? Shaddex knows the drill from Peggy so he might like to get involved too. It would give some much needed value to the in-game currency, food for thought I hope.
  2. The budgets given to those who would push forward our race and it's understanding of the universe we live in should not be cut to compensate for the mistakes of those greedy few who consider only themselves and how much money they can make during their own short existance. That's my thoughts anyhow.
  3. I just had this too trying to install on a second pc.
  4. YAY! all good now thanks to ingame help from SneakJD. Much appreciated :-)
  5. Bumpity bump. Anyone know? I figured this would be an easy dev fix? really want to get my PP in on the action!
  6. Well I am back after a 2 year hiatus, great to see we're still on the same ST and my toons are alive! I have a slight issue though in that I have forgotten the game password on one of my accounts, are any of the devs able to reset this for me or send me an email with the old password to my registered email address? Any help much appreciated as always.
  7. Lol seems like my old sig from ST2 or 3! Looks like I got a lot of work to do to get my guys back to that lvl, only got one pc at the mo too so it going be a looong journey! :-)
  8. Hey guys, well let me at least swell the numbers by one! I've been away for a couple of years but just re-installed again so hope to see you all in-game soon :-)
  9. Followed the exact same procedures on 2 pcs and so far I have not been regocnised. I am experiencing the same problems as many have described here.

    HELP

I keep getting the same problem and using my forum login details has not fixed it for me.
  12. Same on Peggy tbh. Never really bothered me.
  13. Interestingly there are ingame items that, because of the buffs they carry, can only have been concieved as ways of getting faction while not being present at the PC! I'm talking about certain shields and reactors that are lvl 8 or 9 and have a buff that reflects a small amount of damage to mobs. Given that these items are high lvl and that the damage they reflect is so small their only possible aim must surely be to make faction easy to obtain by parking in a group of low lvl mobs and going to sleep etc! When the game itself creates the opportunity to do this legitimatly you can't be suprised that people will seek another way to acheive the same result. Don't get me wrong, I'm dead against macro and have never used 'em, but I thought this point should be made.
  14. It was shortly after you spent 70mil making that 200% CFB for me that I realised what I really needed was a low Q one!! I didn't dare ask you for one though!!!!
  15. The macro you describe would only be a minor advantage and no more the a useful tool. I think what people really don't want to see is guys logging in, setting up mining macros/bots and then scooting off down the pub for 6 hours while we all sit here glued to the screen like morons for 6 hours to achieve the same goal! There are many uses of macro-ing, some more offensive to gaming principals than others. If a macro could be made to do trade runs (diificult because of gating - but there's clever peeps out there..) then were talking about getting a chr up to 150 or whatever without putting in the same effort as everyone else. That's also one reason i'm not against multiboxing - it is an effort, and if you're not paying attention it's very easy to get a chr dead!
  16. The smarter progens have already realised that a 100% CFB is FAR better for combat than a 200%, knowing what I know now I would never grind the 100..
  17. Well the multi boxing issue was beaten to death on the old forum but just to recap, multiboxing is helpful but ultimately allows a player to do no more than two seperate players could achieve themselves. Multiboxing also allows a player such as myself to play many different chr types, it's not like I play 10 PWs or anything.. Macro on the other hand is blatant cheating. The two issues shouldn't even be being discussed on the same thread in this way. I therefore voted for like multi dislike macro. Happily it seems the vast majority of players seem to feel the same way. I think we should accept multiboxing - as it was accepted in live - and treat macro with the contempt it deserves and hand out bans for it's use, again as it was in live. We are trying to EMULATE earth and beyond after all aren't we?
