  1. You're using a fairly old version of LaunchNet7, and it must not be updating for some reason. Try replacing it with this version: LaunchNet7_197.zip LaunchNet7_197.zip
  2. Could you post a screenshot of the error? When do you get the error? What version of Windows are you using?
  3. Do you get the "Earth & Beyond s closing" message (also called the "sunset" message)? If so, click "Cancel" and log in normally. The login screen will look just like it did when EA ran EnB, so it asks for your EA member name and password, which are really your Net-7 username and password now. What error are you getting when you try to log in? (i.e. INV-300, incorrect passowrd, etc.)
  4. Precisely. Additionally, no more than three accounts per person, and thereby no more than three avatars logged in at once.
  5. That's strange, I'll check it out. You're quite welcome, enjoy the game!
  6. Try two things: Compatibility Mode Go to your Earth & Beyond folder. (Default: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Earth & Beyond) Open the "release" folder. Right-click on "client.exe" and open its Properties. Under the "Compatibility" tab, set the Compatibility Mode to "Windows XP (SP2)". Click "Apply" and "OK". E&BConfig Go back to your Earth & Beyond folder. Open the "EBCONFIG" folder. Run E&BConfig.exe. Change the resolution setting to anything larger than 800x600. Run the Performance Test (by clicking "Performance Test"), then click "OK".
  7. lols, "Spam" is a term to be used loosely.
  8. I assume your account has administrative access to the system? Also, is your .NET framework up to date? Try installing the certificate manually: Go to C:\Net7\bin, or wherever you have the launcher installed Find the security certificate called ebemu-root-ca.crt Right-click on the certificate and click "Install Certificate" A wizard will pop up: click next and select "Place all certificates in the following store, then click "Browse..." Select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities" and click OK Then click "Next" and "Finish"; You will get a dialog box asking you if you want to add the certificate, click "Yes"
  9. Be assured, the number one consideration about PvP, as far as development is concerned, would be allowing people who don't want to PvP to opt out. Of course, I should be clear that PvP isn't currently on the list of things to do, just an idea that's been kicked around.
  10. That's just an old message from the enb_demo installer. It'll open a browser window; just close the browser and continue with the installation.
  11. Are you running the client in compatibility mode? If not, or you don't know, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\release\, right-click on "client.exe" go to the Compatibility tab, and set it to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP. Then go back to the Earth & Beyond folder, go to \EBCONFIG\ and run E&BConfig.exe. In E&BConfig, set the resolution to something in the middle of the slider, run the performance test, and click "OK". Then try to run the game again.
  12. Hmm, that's unusual. What operating system are you using? How long has it been since the operating system was installed?
  13. Win7 Pro Intel Core i7-920 @ 4.06 Ghz (Water-cooled) 12 GB DDR3-1600 ATI Radeon 4850 X2 Just built this beast a few months ago, runs EnB like a charm.
  14. That's a possibility, or we could just expand the separate PvP sectors from live, or we could make it an optional kind of thing. Don't worry, whatever happens, no one is going to be forced into PvP.
  15. It's probably off-limits because it might be part of the storyline later on when we go live.
  16. Did you make sure to follow the screenshot that was posted above? So you don't have to scroll up, this is it: http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/2425/loginhelp.jpg If you still can't get it to work, let me know what username you want and I'll make one for you.
  17. It looks like the proxy isn't getting the sector handoff packet. A packet was probably dropped somewhere and never resent. This is a pretty common problem with comms at the moment. I don't think much can be done about this, it all depends on how often a packet will drop out between your computer and the server, which is outside your or our control. As server development progresses, this will get better because the server programmers will add more redundancy into the communication system. Also, as the launcher goes, someone probably accidentally set the launcher to require .NET 3.5 instead of 2.0 this time when they built it.
  18. Very strange, I don't have the slightest idea why that happened, I'm glad it worked itself out though.
  19. I took it upon myself to add an option to the poll about PvP, I hope you don't mind, lol. (You can certainly take it out if you wish, I just wanted an option that represented my opinion better )
  20. Ha, taking that into account, I feel like changing my answer to yes. I think wars / battles between one-race guilds would be a lot of fun.
  21. Go ahead and post the error, and also a screenshot of you can. (Moving thread to Tech Support)
  22. We're talking about two separate things, sorry. I'm talking about "XP Mode" through windows Virtual PC, which can be Dow loaded from Microsoft to run legacy applications within a virtual windows xp machine while actually running Windows 7. If I'm not mistaken, you mean Compatibility Mode for windows XP (SP2/SP3), which definitely does support DX. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
