  1. Worked like a charm! Such a beautiful game on my laptop now, I am in love all over again.
  2. /face palm....you would think that I would know to do this for all .exe files in Vista by this point. I do it for the launcher so I am not a complete tool, I will give this a shot along with haflo's advice tonight when I get home and let ya know.
  3. Bah, forgot to grab screenshots lastnight, will do so tonight when I get home. I have gone through the Net-7 config and EnB config trying different resolutions and do not see an improvement. Updated my graphics drivers, and some system drivers but that has not helped either. It is good to hear that 64 bit does run the game I just need to find the solution. Sorry for no SS to show you the issue just yet.
  4. I looked around the site and did not see a topic on this, if I missed it I apologize now. I run Vista 64 on my laptop with an Nvidia 9800M GTS and so far I get terrible graphics, (will post screen shots later). Just as an example I can fly into a sector and as I warp along the nav points through mine fields all I see is the little grey interact circles, no asteroids. A lot of the times I will have to come to a complete stop to let the roids load and even then they flicker in and out or just never show up. Gates, start bases, enemies, and friendlies all have this happen while playing on my laptop, even the planets get a very strange ripple through them as I put along mining. I talked with my brother who is running Visa 32 and he does not have these issues at all, and my work laptop runs win xp and it plays fine on it. A friend of mine has win7 64 and he tells me he has the exact same problem I am having so I deduce it is the 64 bit operating system causing issue. Does anyone have a work around or a setting tweak to help alleviate this graphics problem?
  5. I was about to post on this very issue. I do not CTD once in game but I will CTD 3 to 4 times trying to log in. I am also running Vista 64 with everything set to XP service pack 2 and run as admin, I am running .Net framework 3.5 also. Just like the OP this does not stop me from playing, but it does take roughly 20 minutes of repeated CTD to finally reach the character select screen before I can play.
  6. Agreed! The wife and I have the series on DvD and have a once a month marathon of Red Dwarf.
  7. http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/2425/loginhelp.jpg I had the same issue I posted about in an earlier thread. This link helped me figure out where I was going wrong, maybe will help you as well. BTW I also use FF as my browser and have had no issue with these sites due to it.
  8. I think I may have a solution, let me know if I am correct though please. Since I was able to install on my system could I not grab an external drive to install the game client and N7 launcher onto using my laptop. Then hand that to wamp and let him run it from his comp?
  9. ok, I now feel like a huge tool. I was putting the right name in the wrong spot, your SS set me straight thanks a bunch. ( /sits in a corner rocking back and forth mumbling, "stupid stupid STUPID! internetz NEWB!!!)
  10. I went and created a new e-mail account, re-registered on this site under the name xeaxon with no spaces and tried again to register on the net-7 site for a game account and still receive the user not found user not added error.
  11. only issue with that would be that I have already used my e-mail account to set this account up. Is there anyway an admin could assign me a different login ID and e-mail it to me?
  12. It looks like I have everything installed correctly and I go to N7 to create a game account. From reading posts here it looks like I need to register using the login id I have on these forums. Unfortunately my log in id has a " " <----- space in between the words and the registration tool does not recognize my login id. Is there a way to rectify that by chance?
  13. He says it worked thank you kindly sir!
  14. Hello folks, I just found this site and am happy as a pup to see EnB still going, I thought for sure it had died years ago. Anyway I am posting this in the hopes an admin can help my brother out. He has tried to register with this site but no e-mail activation link is sent to him, he has tried for a day now to have it resent but nothing ever shows up. He set up his account under the name Wamphyri and is desperately trying to get setup to play this great game again. His e-mail is barkersrealm@sbcglobal.net if you are needing that as well. As a side question, and I will be reading every thread so if an answer is out there I apologize for asking here, will windows vista 64 run this game?
