  1. I added in two options for you Daywolf. I personally choose option number three (#3). That is more of an example of an intentional Kill Steal event, that happened to . - Marco
  2. After all, they go so SLOW anyway... - Marco
  3. I just woke up myself. I have not had a chance to check TS3 since I have to run out the door myself, but I shot a Message over to David. He'll look into it as soon as he gets a chance. Might be tied up with the family, never know. - Marco
  4. As far as I know. We are not a "certain type" of non-profit organization. So you can not write a donation off as tax exception, like when you donate to the Red Cross. Although, if your really curious. I do know that technically we are based in the UK (the guy who started the EnB Emu is from there), and the Servers are in Germany, even though the majority of us are Devs are American. - Marco
  5. Need some info first... - What Operating System and Version? - Have you installed .net framework 2.0 and 3.5 from Microsoft? - Are you running as administrator (if applicable)? - Marco
  6. +1 for Effort, and +1 for making me laugh so hard, I cried. - Marco
  7. The hard part is that there really is no break down. Since everything is hosted on the Servers themselves, we limited our "overhead" fees. The donation tracker basically displays the cost for the Two Servers. The two actual servers are rented at a total of $750. If people did not donate, eventually we (The Dev team) would run out of money and close down the public server and go back into a "closed" status. Through you guys, the community, donating to reach that $750 mark each month, this allows us to keep the "play" server up and running so you guys can play. If we have extra left over, we "bank it" to keep the play server running once no one donates. Or in the case recently, we used some left over money from the past to purchase the new server and still pay to keep the old one running while we set it up. Otherwise, you guys would have had a two month "break" with no EnB (although the Dev server HDD failure was an unforeseen event ). On the rare occasion, we might buy a license or software package. I hope this clarifies what your asking. It is hard to explain since most people don't understand how a dedicated server works (money wise). - Marco
  8. You are correct. The two servers (2 x Opteron 2352, 16 GB RAM per server) that we are renting cost $750 per month from the package we purchased at the time, as we have posted about before. Now what happens with the extra money? It is used on software for the rented servers, to further improve our code and stability of the actual program. After all we can't go out an bittorent everything now, c:lol: we? To give an example: - Renting a Licence for Dev Express for the project, can cost anywhere from $800 (limited specialized package) to $1,999 (full package). Do you think I'm making these numbers up? Check this out -> "Look at those figures!" So, with the extra money left over at the end of the month, we bank it to purchase tools like these. There are other interesting software packages (which cost even more buckaroos) that help debug the code to find memory leaks and other little annoyances that can crash the server while it is running. So on a closing note: - While we don't personally benefit from the extra money per month, you (the players) benefit from the extra money. Yup no ice cream and pie for us, unless we buy it out of our own wal:)ts. - Marco PS: I noticed some of the replys in here have already been answered, by Asmir. Do people just "skip" his posts?
  9. Nice Job. I love the "new" Missile 2d Art. - Marco
  10. JEs have lots of roles: - Instant Reactor Recharger (a Battery if you must). - Damage/Enviromental Resistance Buff. - Removing a chunk of a mob's shield. - Jumpstart. - Cloaking an entire group (once the code correctly works). - Crowd Control (compulsory contemplation is similar to a Mage's Sheep in WoW). - Pushing a Mob away incase it gets to close to the group(when the Fold Space issue is fixed). - Mining for Explore XP, while your combat buddies protect you. - Scouting for a party with their increased Sensor Scan and Navigate boosts. - Using Beams so you can act like additional storage for your combat buddies ammo supplies, while you guys fight mobs. - Participate in DPS of a group (at range) with projectiles. There is a very nice level 8 Projectile for Jenquai which is sold at Jove's Fury. - Wormhole, to move you and your party across the galaxy (WHs are going to get a face lift at some point for a few new spots). - Etc. The JEs have a lot of roles they can perform. The overall niche is that of a Reactor Battery that is also a taxi, just like in Live. On a side note: You guys jump to conclusions to fast. Mining will get a face lift as well, down the road. Right now though, we have other more "pressing" goals to work on. - Marco
  11. You made me fall out of my chair laughing so hard. - Marco
  12. Only Balance I've seen that needs to be addressed is when groups would refuse an individual because he/she was a certain class. For example, the Jenquai Seeker. Groups were refusing the JT in favor of a TT or PP for the groups. So thats why I tweaked the class a bit and am still, to make it a more viable choice since we had very few JTs compared to every other class. - Marco
  13. At the moment, I can say Yes. But this is subject to being changed down the road, if a new concept for implementation is added. - Marco
  14. I'd love to, but even I do not have all the details. Out of respect to the owner of the idea, I am not going to mention too much about it, unless he says it's OK to discuss it while hes developing it. The basic concept is going to replace the old Job terminal system with a more Dynamic and "Living" Trade Market with more sensible jobs. This might require an entire revamp of our current concept of trade and trade XP. So no longer does everyone have to gather up at THE job terminal (wherever it is) to get the best jobs. Everyone will have an equal chance to get decent jobs. We are working on a system currently. It might just end up as a forum post labeled as "patch notes." - Marco
  15. When Scripting and the "Trade System" are implemented, there will be more for you to do. Combat is one of the easier things to add since you really don't need a whole lot, except to place the mobs (at the bare minimum). Keep in mind, we are not actually at the content creation phase. We have been adding content and things to do, since the SDEV's are still adding in the main functionality of the game. Big things that I am excited to see, will be the new trade system and the scripting. Lua (if we go with that) will allow us to make the mobs and other things do more then just "float around in a circle." We are in a Pre-Alpha/Alpha state. The game is playable, compared to 6 months ago, and the server can stay up for about 160 hours at the moment without a restart. That is almost a whole week! A patch/content push is coming to fix a few issues across the entire game. - Marco
  16. In my opinion, the donation tracker is either not setup to show money from the month prior, or just not coded to handle that function (does not understand how to carry over). I can assure you though, the money is there. No one pocketed it. - Marco
  17. I talk to myself quite a lot. Rarely do I get a reply. - Marco
  18. Did you steal someone's main Avatar/Forum name? - Marco
  19. You are lucky that I can't get my hands on that sector. Otherwise that battle would be EPIC! As in Lord of the Rings EPIC. You'd defiantly need a good amount of peeps after I was done with it. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! - Marco
  20. You guys need to keep in mind; We had an XP boost in place since the database failure back in October. Since ST4 started, the XP boost was removed by David and the original XP curve is now back in place. So YES, your XP will now be lower, for everybody. - Marco
  21. Very nice. For somereason, those engine pods remind me of Star Wars: Episode 1. You know, A hybrid Robot/Racer craft. - Marco
  22. Search can be a friend, as well as checking the Jenquai Discussion Forums. https://enb-emulator.com/index.php?/topic/873-je-and-js-build-reactor-missions/ You can't see Unknown, at Unknown, since the mission is not activated for the regular player base. - Marco
