  1. I have a net7 update problem. I reinstalled vista on my 2nd system (clean install, installed all updates, have turned user account control off, also have net7 and all enb exe to run in xp compatibility mode, as administrator). I used enbup to take the client to the final release version, installed net7, and started it. The problem is when net7 is updating, it says current version: cannot be determined, new version: 52. It looks like it's updating fine (besides taking over an hour) gets to mixfile_art_14.mix, and then I get the error. Update failed. Downloaded file is invalid. Hash of downloaded file and hash in server manifest does not match. File: C:\program Files\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\Data\client\mixfiles\mixfile_art_14.mix I have tried several times (at more than an hour each try), and it fails the same spot each time. If I choose "ok" and retry, it gets to the same spot, same error. If I hit ok, and then skip, it will not launch. Net7 launches, everything looks ok, mvas running, launching enb, but enb never launches. I uninstalled enb, and removed net7, fresh install, same problem, same spot.
  2. If you're running windows vista, the easiest thing to do (for me anyway) was to disable account protection (or whatever it's called). It kept whining at me about running with admin, and would not update via the patcher. I disabled the account protection and works like a charm. Of course now windows whines about the account protection being off, but I ignore that. lol As far as win7 goes, dunno, can't afford it.

  4. No offense meant for the Devs, but the last few times that either sectors, mobs, or missions have bee reloaded it causes the server to go down. Could you at least give us some warning and let us dock before you do it please? Getting d/c in a bad spot with a hold full of trade goods isn't fun when they take damage, and you get xp debt.
  5. I just pm'd him the file he asked for, so hopefully it will help. I know many of us have had this problem lately, and I'll do what I can to help them find it.
  6. Hmm, Server, or teeter totter? lol Seriously, you people are doing a hell of a job getting this running from scratch. I know we players complain a lot, but you're doing a marvelous job considering you're using your own free time to do this.
  7. I have been having problems for several days now. Very frequently while gating or docking/undocking I get kicked to the login screen. Most of the time I can log back in fine, but about 10% of the time I get booted to desktop from the sign in screen. I am seeing the message bad opcode, but the window closes out too quickly for me to write the message down. I have tried force updating the game and net7 both, packet optimization on/off, but can't tell any difference. When I get kicked to desktop and log back in, my shortcut menu is cleared, and I appear at random places, sometimes in the sector I'm gating to's gate, sometimes clear across the sector, and occasionaly in the middle of the sector. I don't know if this is what the devs are working on while the server is down, but it's making playing a terran trader almost impossible.

  10. You can use /endtalk if it sticks. I don't use vmware and I have this problem very frequently (I'd say 75% of the time). It hangs anywhere from 15-60 seconds unless I /endtalk. If I do use the /endtalk command it will chat almost instantly the next time though. I use the default options on normal net7 Multi-player. I have no idea what the packet optimization is for, so I haven't been using it.
  11. There was a failure some time this last year and they lost all the accounts. I was in the same situation as you. I got the internet back after being without it for 10 months and had to make a new account.
  12. Simple give us account and, or, guild storage. Certain items are non-storable (such as net7 newspapers), so that should keep you from just putting it in the vault, travelling to wherever and taking it back out. Make sure all trade items are non-storable and it stops the exploit before it can start. A (I know you don't want to hear the name, but) "WOW" style vault would be good. I HATE having to have mule accounts just to hold all my ores/components/ammo whatever. I say no to the eve style ore containers, I got absolutely SICK of seeing them everywhere. People who don't have 2 computers, or don't want to use a VM are at a serious disadvantage because they have to find someone to trust to transfer items between characters. I could see the resoning when this was live, and we had to pay for the multiple accounts, but since it's not that way anymore, I see no need not to put vaults/banks in. If they don't want to alter the client too drasticly, make a banking sector (similar to bbw) with gates in a few main places (ie net7, earth, jupiter, mars). I know they can add sectors now, so that "shouldn't" be a problem.
  13. It seems to me that auto-reg was a choice. I remember being clear out in vt and forgetting to reg (that's what the button was for), and getting killed and getting pushed clear back to net-7 (where I regged last), and having to fly all the way back out. And several times in a combat group the leader repeating over and over (reg at this station before we go in). I was on the Pegasus server fwiw. I didn't play live beta, but I did play untill sunset announce (sunrise name was my idea). I do however remember that if you died on a trade run it lowered the quality of trade goods by 50% (same as the je wormhole). I never did the rd faction grind live, so I never even saw qar, and don't really miss being able to go through smugglers run. But, if the faction isn't working yet, why close it off during testing? I can live with auto-reg, it's annoying, but hey it's just a game. The suddenly overpowered mobs on the other hand is a hard thing to swallow. I only have so much time to play every day, so I don't have the time to find a guild or hunting groups right now. Trying to solo combat has suddenly become undoable. A terran scout 5-5-5 with lvl 2 shields/reactor/missiles and I'm getting absolutly STOMPED by lvl 5 manes.
  14. From what I can see, it's missions where you have to talk to the same npc multiple times (multiple missions from same npc) are what's broken.
  15. Login server is down I think. I enter my user/pw and it says "unable to validate login information", on my vista machine it hangs at connecting to server. Vista machine has uac shut off, and everything set to xp compatability mode, and also run as administrator. Maybe just the dev teams on right now fixing the mission problems.
