  1. Oh, and after a "discussion" ingame last week, there was a difference of opinion of which config program to use. I was telling another player to use net7 config, and another player was telling them to use enb config. I could be wrong, but I thought we were supposed to use net7 config utility.
  2. Ok, now I have the theme song from welcome back kotter stuck in my head. Welcome back welcome back welcome back. lol
  3. TortoiseSVN is what I've been using the past year or so. Yes it had some problems when I first started using it, but the updated versions are much more stable. About the only time I see a big pause is when it does it's update check and there is a newer version available.
  4. Did you try looking at the home page? Down a little bit where it says SVN.
  5. Well, we're trying to stress the client/server, not the devs. lol I am glad for the option to use 2 accounts on 1 computer, but haven't actually tried it yet. I partitioned the 2nd drive on my wifes' computer (vista doesn't really like enb), and put xp on one partition, and ME on another (wanted to play some old games). EnB runs very nicely with xp on her system, so I dual box. I might try putting my main account, and my mule account both online on my system, and her account on her computer, and see how it goes. Hmm, dragging low lvl alts around for explore lvls sounds like a plan. Between both of our main accounts, we have 2 je, 2 tt, 1 jt, and 1 ts, so we needed extra room for ores and comps. Now I'm thinking about setting up a mule account for her. lol
  6. Umm, couldn't we get an updated home page? It's still talking about the end of ST3.
  7. Hi, Sorry if I'm duplicating a previous discussion, but couldn't find one like this. When I launch the net7 launcher, it almost always has errors on checking for updates, and if I click "Launcher" "check for updates" it always says "unable to determine version", and has to do a full scan, and will download files every time. Now that I have 2 computers functunal again I'll write down a list next time I do it. I have done a chkdsk to look for disk errors, but it's doing the same thing on both systems, so I doubt I have the same error on both of them. Is this a known problem? Is anyone else having the same thing happen to them? Or is it just me (again)? lol
  8. I don't care about the other people. If I wanted to know what's up there, I'll go to their website. Leave it off this one.
  9. For some reason, in rare instances the patcher doesn't actually update some files. I had to update 3x to get it to take. It kept updating the same files (couldn't figure out how to copy/paste from the report), but it was the same files over and over till it finally worked. I got the "could not patch registry" error after one of the updates, but I ran update again and it worked.
  10. "Huh, a single-core 64 bit chip is pretty rare" Huh? I have a AMD Duron 64 bit in one computer, and a celeron D 64 bit chip in the other, both single core. Did I miss something?
  11. I installed windows ME on a computer and installed enb, upgraded with enbup, and installed net7 and updated it, only to get the message "net7 is expecting a newer os, please upgrade to xp or higher". I didn't see anything in the FAQ or install instructions about needing xp or higher.
  12. More like they think the new players are oompa loompa, and are eating several for breakfast.
  13. Hmm, might have to give that a try. The sound in enb stutters so badly, I shut the speakers off on the vista machine, not to mention it takes 3x longer to gate/undock. Hmm, just remembered I have a copy of xp pro around somewhere, any problems with enb on it?
  14. I've thought about nuking the vista install and going back to xp on it, but I only own 1 copy of xp, and I'm using it on MY computer. Besides, I'm relearning programming, and I needed a vista platform to check some of my builds, and I don't really have room on my system for a 2nd os. I'll have to check and see if there are win9x drivers for that motherboard, if so I may go farther back than xp. Odd thing is win7 ran on her system better than vista, but I don't have the money to buy win7 right now. Maybe if I get my SSD/SSI/SSA approved...
  15. Commodore Amiga 2500HD with PC bridgeboard (386). Seriously though, I'm putting my old emachines 366I2 back together (win98 512Mb ram) for some old games. I think I'll see how it runs EnB again (it's the system I had when EnB came out). If it's faster than my wife's Vista machine, I might move her computer and put the emachines on the desk. LOL
  16. I think it's lvl 40 before je can get the mission, not 100% sure though. I do know it's higher than what you are so far. My je doesn't have it yet either.
  17. I started getting those errors 2 days ago myself. The mission seems to proceed normally though.
  18. I have to agree with starfox. Personally if I start to kite something with my terran, and a pw comes in a blasts it to death, once could be an accident, but if it continues, that's another story. Playing the combat style of your char shouldn't leave you open to killsteals. If I'm hunting and I accidently kill a mob someone else had started fighting, I'll appologize and move on. Some of the missions for lower level terrans you have no choice but to kite. I have had problems with higher level terrans who were grouped coming in and taking out the mob I'm obviously fighting (had it down to almost 1/2 they came in and blasted it with one volley. I tried to ask them to leave the mob for me because I was doing a mission, and they pulled the old "I have bigger missiles, so I can out damage you". That type of attitude is what makes a lot of mmorpgs suck. I was hoping since we all love this game so much, and have gotten older since it sunsetted, that that attitude wouldn't be so prevalant this time, unfortunatly I'm being sadly disappointed. All I could do, was log another char and play it for a while and come back later once they had finally moved on.
  19. Yeah, I forgot what station I was in, and bought a whole hold full of them. Only thing I could do was destroy them and cry because it left me with 12 credits. Oh well, back to hunting for a while.
  20. The trick is keeping the pw reactor down. Yes it did take a while to pound through the hull. A fight can sometimes seem to take forever, and I couldn't honestly say how long it took me (has been a couple of years after all). Once I managed to get the pw's reactor down, he couldn't fire very often (which kept the reactor drained also), and I could hit him with all my beams and have time to warp back out before he could turn to face me.
  21. There was a server database error (I think that's what it was anyway), and most if not all account info was lost. I had to make a new account myself, but not my wife. Weird.
  22. The way I've seen a lot of pw played, is sort of like a boxer. Up in your face, pounding on you till you go down. Je fighting style is more like gorilla warfare/sniper, hide hit and move (sort of like beating mike tyson on the old nintendo video game). It has a lot to do with tactics and luck (who gets the first hit in).
  23. When most of the rest of my guild (the federation guild) started to leave after sunset announce, they were giving those of us who were left their elite gear. I was one of the few left, and had a very nice setup (don't remember what anymore), but I beat an ol 150 pw with my je in the arena. I think the pw chose the wrong reactor, because I think he ran out of cap before I did. I could warp in, hit him and warp back out (rinse, repeat). He only hit me twice, but it almost killed me. I had no shields, and 5 hull left, but he got incapped before me. I could solo oni quite well at that time, and had been practicing on them. If the oni got their "scream" off before I could warp away, I was toast, but if I got into warp, they were toast. I don't know if my max cloak was higher than the pw's scan, but a couple of times I snuck up behind him, fired and warped away before he could turn around. A short warp to the other side, and sneak back into max beam range, cloak and crawl. I won a million credit bet on the fight. So, Yes, if the pw doesn't have the right mix, and the je does, it's possible if the je knows the correct tactics. I don't remember the pw's name anymore, but he wasn't happy about it. He wanted a rematch, but my game account went inactive and I couldn't log back in. I do remember that fire lotus was the one building weapons for our guild. Funny how some names stick with you. And yes, Gobblu was my je's name on Pegasus.
  24. I've been having the same problem on my Vista machine, but not the XP machine. Sometimes the only way I can get the Vista machine online is to restart, but then it launches fine.
  25. I finally got it to work. After running update on net7 somewhere around 12 times (yeah, 12 hours or so). It would complain about 1 file, fix it the next time, get past it, and complain about the next one. Once I finally got past all the art mixfiles it proceeded through the sound ones fine. I haven't been having any other net problems, so I don't know what was happening.
