  1. Tyran, they're talking about high level ammo having too small of a stack size, how would this help a lowbie who can't use that ammo?

  3. I didn't know there were other skills they were supposed to get untill kyp responded above. I was just tossing some ideas out. As it stands though, the level 9 engines is basicly useless IMHO. I don't have over lvl 5 engines on any of my characters, and feel the points it would take to get lvl 9 engines a complete waste. Drop the engines to 8 and give lvl 9 shields would be fine with me to keep balance (without the other skills that is). I'll wait and see once the other skills are in, and give an opinion then. I realize that may be a long time since i'm sure you devs have way more important things to work on.

  5. You have to be level 60, but the description does not say so.
  6. I have noticed that sometimes the forums log you out, you can post still, but it says "guest/playername". All you have to do is log in again and the "guest" tag goes away.
  7. It happens on one person's posts (fibro fog won't let me remember who at the moment) every time they post. It happens on both ie7 and ie8 on 2 different machines of mine.
  8. Ah, perfect. Exactly what I was wanting to know. Then there would be obviously a need for some devices to exist that would add to those skills eventually(Hmm, I smell quest items maybe?)
  9. Ok, so the TS still is missing some skills? Can you give us and idea of what other skills it will be getting so maybe we can help with some ideas? I was just trying to come up with ideas that wouldn't break the balance, but help it become at least usable solo or in a group.
  10. I'd rather go someplace I've never been just to see how hard the mobs hit, and rack up very large xp debt before a wipe.

I'm using a nvidia card, and you have to go into the multi monitor setup and make sure you don't have "span desktop" option enabled (or if it won't work for you that way, try with it enabled) which ever you have now, try the other way. If you are using another brand, you'll have to ask someone who uses one of them.
  13. Depending on your exact setup, you should be able to use windowed mode and drag one window to the second display.
  14. That is exactly what I used for my install. It is one of the two legal ways to play the emu (you can also use the "demo" that is still available online). I love having the original install discs just for nostalgia anyway.
  15. The server "appears" to be out of alpha state into beta (obviously I'm a player, not a programmer (yet)), so that's a bit far off.

  17. Ok, how about this idea, a skill (or device though that would use up a slot) ECM/stealth skill and make it group use at lvl 3 and above. If you do it as a skill, you could have devices that enhance the skill (like any other skill has). It would not take ammo, and wouldn't use a device slot unless you wanted to add to the skill. Of course make the device buildable, but TS only. Another idea is a missile launcher that only TS can use that has a further range on it than normal ml. The reactor usage would be higher, and a bit lower refire rate (ie sniper Ranger). Afterburn skill? Hmm, have it make accel faster, but use 2x the reactor power of normal impulse (just like afterburner on a fighter). Again, make the skill group buffable at lvl 3 and up(or not if it would skew the balance too much). This would help make higher level/pm engines desirable again. Just a couple of ideas to help make the TS more helpful in a group. Something that no other class has, but skills that would be more targeted to what they should be IMO. In a group TS could use ECM/stealth to lower the groups sig (sort of like je), make the group move faster at impulse, and limited snipe capability to draw the mob (less effective than js summon, but still helpful)
  18. Another idea would be a mission to give ts a overpowered lvl 8 shield. Make ot 70k instead of 40k, not as strong as a lvl9, but stronger than a standard lvl 8. Making the shield TS only would prevent others from using it, and have it give a buff(equip, not active) to help with sig, or impulse speed, or both. Wether or not to make it manufacturable is a whole other debate.
  19. It is a stress test, and the game is what's important, not the race to 150. If/when a wipe is needed, it's obviously needed or it wouldn't happen. I had several chars reach 150 live, got bored and deleted them (after transferring money of course ). Wipe the accounts, I'll be right back at it having fun playing. I do wish call forward were ingame, since I've messed up a bit on my skill points, but a wipe would do the same thing.
  20. Crash, or reboot? If it was intentonal, well the weekend is when devs get to work on the server, and more people are home from work playing, so it does stand to reason. More stress, things fail (it IS a stress test after all).

Hmm, oddly enough I did a Google search and found a webpage I hadn't seen before with some mission info. http://damageinc.cryptic.com I don't know if you already have this info or not, but it might be worth a look for missions. The "mission hints and walkthroughs contains some good info that might help.

  25. Actually, I was referring to the "home" tab here on the forums. I have to admit, untill recently I didn't even have the net-7.org bookmarked. I have recently been using the database there with increasing frequency though.
