  1. <weeps> L149.81. Just another hour to my L9 missiles... And I have to go away on business for a week starting tomorrow morning... Oh noooeeesss....
  2. ...and if you are color-blind - well theres is always select and left-click.... What I find interesting is the way certain minerals modify the appearance of the roids. Remove the horusium (or whatever) and it looks different. Juicier roids look - well - juicier.... tbh - the color scheme works, and no point adjusting it to mirror historic patterns....????
  3. you mean so a rich builder can repeatedly rip+build to gain xp automatically? What a great idea
  4. Not sure this helps anyone... My old laptop, you can check the Local Cert and I got in fine - old XP. Now PC has windows & - the Misc box is greyed out so I cannot check the Local Cert. Repeated tried (like dozens) gets you in eventually, but its not good when you get bumped out repeatedly (well twice).
  5. There were a lot of posts at the beginning of ST4 with sign up problems. You have to be sure the info you sign up with the forun is exactly the same as your game sign up. Email, pwd, username. How far have you got. ST4 sign up, email confirmation, ????

    Vendor Levels

Is this really too difficult to find out? enbdatabase.com, a notebook, and a memory that can remember 4 or 5 stations....? People build at SOMER, OMP, F7, NET7, JOVES for a reason. One page on a notebook.... (OK so some people do Paramis/BBW/Aragoth Prime/Jot/Endr) I'd agree its annoying the first three times you visit 5 vendors to find the last is the one you are looking for, but use a pen and paper and note down (3), (Weaps),(4),(Devs/Eng/Shlds/Reactor),(7),(8),(1) and it gets you straight to where you want to be..... Is it an age thing?
  7. There is also a ship to be discovered east of the 4 navs on the path. Fit a fast engine though....
  8. And Horusium....! As for Pagion - I only ever saw 7 pieces on Live... Not sure whether it really exists on ST4 as they have completely nerfed VC and BBW. And - earlier posts - lots of L9 fields but you do need to look hard for for them - and wear a hard hat.
  9. Crown-of-Thorns Starfish aka Amethyst Titan
  10. There ya go... Portuguese Man-o-War aka Brawn
  11. We normally resort to posting LolCatz pix. Being an avid sailor and fisherman I thought I'd start a totally random topic about MOBs in real life. How about this for a Tengu? Psychedelica Do post others...
  12. They do NOT just sit there - all the fields I know repopulate, and replacement ores are just as sparkly and pretty...try it. To say the field stays stagnant is simply incorrect. Show me a field that 'just sits there'... it needs reporting as broken. Fields renew themselves. Any GM want to comment on the mechanics? I am also certain we are talking about different issues in different situations. Glenn and a few other places are a mad scramble because there are no mobs and too many miners - you are welcome to Glenn as I only mine there (usually gas) when I'm waiting for customers to roll up. But there are plenty of other places with plenty of ore and few miners. The fields I visit have 80-200 roids in - and quite unrealistic to empty due to the MOBs, the distance from a station, and the quantities/variety of ore. We aint talking Glenn. There seem to be too many unadventurous miners wanting to go and explore the abundance out there. I have a list of 41 different fields where L9s occur and that is in just a few of the outlying systems. And I have to say again - where I go I am yet to see a single miner in most of those places. And if I did see someone there, I doubt they would be diligently removing every last roid as its just impractical. I would also let them carry on in peace and move on to the next one on the list.
  13. Toreava - I did re-read - which system where? I'd hate to think I've been annoying you, as honestly this week I have not seen a single miner where I normally go with the exception of Glenn (which everyone know is a silly battlefield). And documentation...without speaking to me - what on earth (and beyond) do you mean? Message me in game so we can resolve this. Apart from the scramble for gas I'd normally leave any field where another miner is already working.
  14. ..."all starter quests are broke".... Not quite true as I finally managed to get the shield charger TT mission from Louden yesterday. My tip is to load up all four missions from him - get the runaround admin one, the drone-shoots, the O2 canister one, and ask again and you get the 20,000 credits task. Do the first three missions, reappear and claim your rewards and make sure you have 20k.
  15. How roid respawn works as far as I've seen it happen. Mine a few roids - they reappear as similar roids within an hour - and always by an hour. The composition varies a little eg remove a hydrocarbon with 4 tincal and it replaces it with another similar level hydrocarbon with maybe ambrosia. These roids seem to appear randomly about an hour later. If you removed the majority quickly, they will appear to respawn all at once. The overall quality varies but it is generally similar quality that reappears, bot often with a slightly different mix. If you clear a field and get a field bonus the field will respawn all at once about 10-20mins later - normally 15mins. The field is a similar composition as before. If there is a pattern I believe the identical roid layout reappears 3-4 spawns later, but even then the individual roid contents are randomized. The fields have a certain feel and quality to them. Some L7-8 field have one or two L9s. Other mainly L8 field have several L9 roids. Sometimes they are more crystaline and have ammo ores, others are more hydrocarbon, others are more 'rock'. The general composition stays after respawn. The really best ores appear in the worst locations closely guarded by big mobs. The quirk is Glenn where you can get totally unguarded L9 rocks. Everyone knows this but the 'free lunch' is on a table where everyone wants to eat. If you want the best then go explore. I am yet to see any miners in the places I go - but you will need L7 shields at least. If anyone is having a problem 'cherry-picking' (ie someone beating you to it) then I'd suggest finding other systems - there is PLENTY of ore out there.
  16. ...some game mechanics I observe as a regular miner... If I mine the best L8-9 ores from a field, and return an hour later they miraculously have refilled, albeit with a slightly different mix of ores. Apart from Glenn I am yet to see hordes of miners fighting over rocks. There are plenty of roids and not enough miners. The areas I frequent are rarely visited by other miners. In fact there are 4 systems I go to for 3-4hrs a day and I am yet to see a miner there. Once things get busier I'd suggest the issue is about respawn, intensity and distribution. And once hulks appear in their fullest sense - then cherry-picking will become a way of life for many miners. First come...
  17. hmmmmm...... Unannounced events, favoring those with an organization behind them with WH's ready to go, at random times v timezones, and a haphazard game mechanic. I waited my turn (though I was 6th to arrive), and saw people zooming off into the distance. My vote was to go and do something more productive with my time rather than go on a wild goose-chase. It disturbs be that some people end up with rare uber-loot through non-game mechanics instead of gaining proper in-game stuff through the normal process. Was it 'Official'? I very much doubt it. Is it fair on those who are still middling, logged out, doing something else - I think not.
  18. So who is actually complaining? The person who comes along second, who wanted the best ores themselves, and are too late? First the roids naturally respawn after a period (an hour?), and second, can be forcibly be respawned by completely emptying the field. You then know it will respawn in the next 10-15mins. And you will have collected a nice field clearance reward. Because someone has already visited the field clearance will be easier too. There are a lot of reasons why fields are left half empty - 'cherry picking', the nasty mob, your dinner is ready, or you find something better to do. All I can suggest for those who like a clean field is go round clearing the fields. However, the altruists have a dilemma. Do you completely clear your last field and let is respawn afresh for the next luck person or not. If you dont clear the field arent you a cherry picker too. Lastly - its just impossible to manage a tiny hold with the variety of ores so you really should be selective. There are not many good fields with single roid types (it would be nice Devs??). To get the ores the builders need I have no alternative but to fly to the furthest reaches for the best ores, and selectively mine to a list. I really dont think there is a problem as there are just so few miners and so many roid fields. However if you are one of those competing for the small number of juicy roids in a risk-free, mob-free Glenn - well - go explore. There is plenty out there. No hulks mind <nudge>.
  19. So that looks like the one in-game in Help? Can I presume the one ingame works?
  20. ...so how do we lodge a ticket with a problem....?
  21. is waiting for the winds to blow....
