  1. Just a thought...What about a NPC that all can go to that based on your race/class/level could direct you to "possible" missions?  Way back when, POTBS added something like this at each of the main ports of call.  It helped a lot when in a full on PvP game many areas were off limits (until the next port battle) for one to follow missions.   I wouldn't mind going to start area and getting a mission line.  I would always know where to go to get a "hint" of the next mission that is available to me.   It could be done in such a way that the missions could be given as hints rather than outright "go here".
  2. Not EXACTLY, they appear in your inventory when you hit the level of a HU not as I remember when you do the HU.  The text should be changed from "make sure that there is room in your hold for "x" amount of mission tokens upon completion of the next hull upgrade" to "make sure that there is room in your hold for "x" amount of mission tokens upon completion of the LEVEL REQUIRED FOR next hull upgrade.  As I remember it I received the tokens without doing my HU mission.  I have yet to do my 135 mission and held off doing my 100 HU but still got the tokens.   That may be why getting them is such a surprise.
  3. I was turned on to this book by my wife (complete non gamer) who thought I would enjoy it.  I really loved it even though I read mostly Dean Koontz.  Some of you might enjoy...   Ready Player One     Ernest Cline 47 Reviews Random House, Aug 18, 2011 - Fiction - 384 pages It's the year 2044, and the real world has become an ugly place. We're out of oil. We've wrecked the climate. Famine, poverty, and disease are widespread.   Like most of humanity, Wade Watts escapes this depressing reality by spending his waking hours jacked into the OASIS, a sprawling virtual utopia where you can be anything you want to be, where you can live and play and fall in love on any of ten thousand planets. And like most of humanity, Wade is obsessed by the ultimate lottery ticket that lies concealed within this alternate reality: OASIS founder James Halliday, who dies with no heir, has promised that control of the OASIS - and his massive fortune - will go to the person who can solve the riddles he has left scattered throughout his creation.   In the year 2044, reality is an ugly place. The only time teenage Wade Watts really feels alive is when he's jacked into the virtual utopia known as the OASIS. Wade's devoted his life to studying the puzzles hidden within this world's digital confines—puzzles that are based on their creator's obsession with the pop culture of decades past and that promise massive power and fortune to whoever can unlock them.     But when Wade stumbles upon the first clue, he finds himself beset by players willing to kill to take this ultimate prize. The race is on, and if Wade's going to survive, he'll have to win—and confront the real world he's always been so desperate to escape.
  4. If you can't beat them...... join them....
  5. Looks like we have the opportunity to donate yet again.  I sure hope this is for August as we only have one day left for this month.  So...you know what to do.
  6. Obtuse is not the word for it...Insanity comes to mind.  For example in speaking to Telum at Norstrand Vor my PW (Warrior!!! B not Explorer) for the entire level 1 section fought level 0 - 1 mobs.  The remainder of that section I parked my PW in NV and begged parts from players who have done the missions.  I had my PS collect the many ores that a PW doing a PW mission could NEVER get on his own. Again... Warrior mission B, I could go with the premise if there was more building but collecting ores is just mostly silly.     Now for stage two I found that I need max build even though the npc across from Telum tells me I need build 7 but need build 8 to start the ,mission..  Hello B...lvl 8 and 9 go together not 7 and 8. So after spending the last week or so gaining trade level 45 (to max build weapon skill), I find I am out 2 mil credits analyzing a beam weapon...A BEAM!!! ????? If I waited another month to get my newly aquired build 9 skill up it may have only cost me 1 mil credits.   This is as far as I got as I ran out of credits.   ...     In answer to your question (and additional info) as long as you do not do your 135 HU you should be golden.  I waited to do the level 100 HU as well but I don't think that was necessary.
  7. That is a pretty old launcher.  You might want to do a force update to see if that will help.  Also make sure you run it as admin.
  8. If you knew me at all you would know that there is very little I take seriously. The problem is you popped a joke into what looked like a very pissed off player's post without offering any suggestion other than the joke.  It reminds me of the Yadda Yadda posts...A Japanese player got all bent out of shape as that means something very different in Japan than it's non meaning verbiage from Seinfeld.  Anyway, it seems all better now, sorry I stepped on your (I am very sure funny) clown shoes.
  9. OMG...after sorting through these "Walls O text" I actually agree with you Knight.  Agrippa is all about forced behavior in this game.     Forced player participation (if you want the good? stuff), forced cooperation, and forced nose picking in just this particular way...none others will remove that booger.  I have been a very vocal opponent of the Agrippa line ever since it's launch.  Trying to beta test it, letting the Dev know where there were obvious errors in the line...only to be told it was completely tested and there were no errors.  I jumped off topic here, sorry,    I want to play the game my way, I want it all... I know there are restrictions but these can be done at any level.  A prime example is access to BBW, this can be done at any level as long as you can get your faction high enough with the RD.     Oops my wall of text added to these.  I have been patiently waiting for the Chevez missions by not killing them wholesale, to gain access to their content all the while missing out on BBW content.  I look at both the Chevez missions and the backdoor to Agrippa as both rumored to be true but if you wait or modify your play style you will be only be saddened or maddened or rage quit not getting this in your time frame.     Conclusion: Do the Agrippa missions from the start, use and or abuse those that have offered to help.   Kill all Chevez! If these missions ever get in game start a new character.   If you Started the backdoor only to find a dead end... oops! forfeit the mission if you need the space in mission logs or ignore for now.   Job terminals give faction.   "Pain heals. Chicks dig scars. Glory... lasts forever."
  10. At one time we did have a test server for testing patches etc.  BUT... as I remember it, it was way underused and not worth the trouble/expense of putting up another. It was pretty cool as we could start a char and poof pop it to max level to test high lvl content.
  11. Good points ALL.  And I admit now that I don't even bother to clear a field anymore.  I have gone to the dark side (they have cookies) and will cherry pick with the best of them.
  12. I don't think the vault is broken.  I do think it is more likely that the connection is bad.  I have been locking up this morning at almost every gate.
  13. OK I have been into the PW portion of these missions for a bit now and the only fighting this warrior has done so far has been a few level 0s in the PW starting area and boredom.  Is it the intent to have the PW beg for ores? Fly to some obscure place to buy orange juice?  I must be missing something???   I was told (thank you nameless player) that eventually the PW will do some fighting in cooper.  I'm not sure the PW at lvl 107 is even able to fight in Nif and or Cooper.     So what is a PW to do?   1.  If the missions are started can the PW advance to at least his/her 100 HU?   2. If not... can the PW obtain level 150 (more importantly CL 50) with no HUs and still do these missions?   I'm sure I have other questions but up to this point the missions are just not much fun.  I am in game but it seems my PS is doing more Agrippa mission steps than my PW for the PW portion of the Agrippa.     Does the PS fight? Does the PP mine?   Did B eat paint chips as a child?
  14. Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd not to pick an age old scab, but...!   There was a time in recent memory when "B" took an extended leave. During this leave it was said that Agrippa Hull restrictions had been and were in the process of being removed. So anyone who based their play style on this HAS to rely on the back door if they want to play with Agrippa.     I think my PW was not too far into his development when "B" returned, so that he may still be able to play via the accepted method (read front door), I am still unsure...time will tell.
  15. Funny...(not!) but if someone is having issues with a stalker or someone giving them enough grief to cause them to want to quit, it IS a serious matter.   It needs to be handled even if it may only be a misunderstanding or a cultural difference.  That's what GMs are for.  Report it and let them sort it out.
  16. Could we have this in all the Agrippa talk trees as well? Please?   " However, it will tell you if you have yet to complete Stage I, II or III." Ammo/Weapons Talk tree is strange as well.  When you try to exit it pops back into the opening talk tree.
  17. Shock of all shocks...instead of sitting on the bench trying to coach the team, I decided to join in the fun.  I do have one suggestion that would make a world of difference in asking for assistance in these missions.     Problem: When asking for help there is no way of knowing exactly where you are in the Agrippa mission line.   Example: ME: I need xyz?   THEM: What stage are you in?   ME: Ummm how can I tell?   THEM: How many tokens do you have?   ME: Ummm Well... there were a few missions thrown in that I thought were Agrippa, but ...it took my token and didn't advance the line.   Possible Solution:  Some method of keeping track of what mission stage you are in.  I know I could have recorded every mission name manually in the log.  I didn't, and pretty sure most would not of have not as well.    I suggest that in the portal we have a list of our missions done (All missions not just Agrippa).  I know we can't edit the client but...I have had GMs in various STs check my mission log for what step I was in.  This may not help everyone but it would be a big step to eliminating at least one gripe on the A"gripe"a mission line.   Bonus effect: Bragging rights..   ME: "I have done 203 missions." THEM: How do you know that? ME: I went to the portal and checked my mission log.
  18. I'm not sure if many (any) other ISP will take the emu business.  Although we are not breaking any laws we may be bending a few.  So 1 & 1 may be our only choice.           Note: The opinions expressed by Mimir do NOT reflect the ideas and opinions of the management.
  19. How true... if a cherry picker cleans the field he/she is no longer a cherry picker and the whole thing is resolved.  Sounds like a win win to me.
  20. So in your opinion the Agrippa missions were designed in such a way to complete them, you must interact with yourself (make one of each class alt) but others could be used to complete?... MMOG or cartridge game?   Seems to me if any were honest about this they would admit that it was intended to have a social interaction and not be a solo multi box experience.
  21. My feeling is that having more than one Progen to complete the Agrippa series was NOT what was intended.     I think that that having multiple Progen alts IS what most are doing to get around the relatively low player count and complete these missions.   Does anyone think they can select only one or even two Progen(s) and complete these missions?     Sadly to do any of the individual parts of Agrippa you need cooperation from the other classes in the race.   If one just wants to have a PW and do only the ammo/weapons he/she HAS to rely on the other classes to complete just this portion (as originally intended I think).  I don't see many(any) that have answered this that have only one Progen without making the other classes to mine/make comps, etc.   And this is my point...not that the missions are not functional because obviously they are,   So how many with only one Progen are doing the Agrippa missions without making the other classes and only relying on others for the various components/part needed?
  22. Exactly... Maybe I missed the point... I don't think so, but early on discussions it was stated that it was to encourage "players" to interact.  I see exactly the opposite.  I see comments like "I'm tired of bugging guildies for x, so I will make this char" but...but...but... isn't that what guildies for.
  23. It's good to hear/see that some are doing the Agrippa as it was intended (can't help but wonder if I can afford your help ;) ) But are the majority of players doing this or are you as I fear in the minority?    How many Agrippa alts do you have?
  24. Anyone besides me see this as a vision that just will not come to fruition as intended?     As I understand it the "vision" was to force (always a bad idea) players to cooperate to finish these missions.  What I see happening is that players are making one of each class to get what they need to complete these missions.     Sadly the Agrippa missions have the opposite effect on players interactions and is (IMHO) causing more and more players to not interact except with their multi-boxed alts.   Just my 2 credits worth... Perhaps time for a re-work?
  25. Wow wasn't expecting a close the thread comment, but OK...
