I have this running, after a fashion. Problem is the game window keeps flashing back and forth between the game and the blue WINE background in big ugly rectangles, making it unplayable. Suggestions? LOTRO also does the first-hit-credit thing (group or individual), with the additional function that if anyone else hits the mob (group or not) or gives heals the credited player(s) get half experience. Hitting a claimed mob has no benefit besides helping the player. Many players prefer not to lose XP and get mad about it; I believe that if someone repeatedly hits your mobs there you can report it as griefing.

The devs should really step up with the YES or NO on issues like this... just have an announcements thread where they let the community know what their expectations are...

Interesting. Transparency as to where the money is going is one thing, but transparency about what users spent the most is a horrible idea and the reason I haven't yet donated anything. All that's good for is bragging rights and entitlement and I've no interest in either. I've already seen more than one instance when someone tried to use the fact they'd donated as a point in some forum debate. That feature should seriously be disabled.

I will not abandon my JE, useless though she might be. *shrugs* I played mine as a combat JE anyway, and I don't care much about a class being uber or effective so much as having character.

Okay, the steps should be: Install character creator. Install game client. Patch game client. Install Net-7. Register on website. Create characters in character creator. Load game through Net-7 program. (These items are all found in the downloads section on the site.)
