1. Genril McQuiken spawned named mob wasn;t a raid either, inside DT was nothing more than spawned named mobs like the Voltoi/Tengu named.  Scooter, Genril, Corporal and I might be forgetting another one, all doable with a single group.  But yea like I said all speculation without knowing DEVs intentions and plans for it all.  As I said I merely referenced live this isn't live so we gotta wait and see.
2. Here is the problem that everyone keeps forgetting.  The Bogeril Raid was not inside DT.  It was in Witberg so no faction was necessary.  It was a triggered raid.  There are several aspects from the game that are still not in that are necessary for this Raid (If it is to be restored to what it was in Live).  If that is not the case then well then that is not the Bogeril Raid in my opinion but thats just my 2 cents.  One key element that is missing is the JEs Compulsary Contemplation Skill.  If the Bogeril Raid is to be the true testament of what it was in live it is and was completely different then bring your biggest baddest guns, pew pew and win.  It required coordination and skill to take it down, something that not many people accomplished in Live across several servers.   I vaguely recall being one of the first groups to attempt it Live on Galileo and we too took a massive grouping only to get wiped pretty hard initially (because server stability, size and all that).  It did take 2-3 groups and lots of communication to accomplish it though.  Not to mention the tons of man hours to gather the trigger for it.   Alas its all speculation at this point because all we have to go on is that DT will be opening soon.  My guess is we'll just get DT and the regular mobs along with the named mobs and their drops (will basically be an Antares with timed spawns of named mobs).  But hey DEVs could surprise us we'll see.  But if we are to follow the makeup and storyline of Live (its all outta wack right now) and we need to have Zeke and Zachs missions along with others in place too for it all to work as it was.  Again we just have to wait and see what's in store, I'll be happy with just DT and all its over campedness to come lol.
3. Hey fellow EnB'ers, I am just dropping by to say hey. Hope all is going well with the Project. I had a blast reliving it for a good year or more and even got the opportunity to help the DEVs out. Unfortunately I had to step down and away for various reasons. But I occasionally lurk by and read the forums to see how things are going. Most noteable times for me was enjoying grouping with friends/guildies and doing stuff, getting just about every schematic for crafting learned (always was my favorite role in Live as well being the server 1st crafter and overall main source). And then once I got to work with the DEVs trying to come up with new things as well as recreate originals. That and the Halloween 2011 Recreation attempts as well that was a learning curve but a fun adventure no doubt to be able to create it. Anyways just saying hey, keep up the great work sorry I won't have time to devote to the game anymore though I do appreciate the time spent no doubt, I'll be starting my new position (selling out to the devil) EA/Bioware Austin (I'm sure you'll be able to figure out what the main project is though ;P ) But keeping up 2 jobs should be interesting and taxing without a doubt.
4.
The server seemed to have died, just after Redd logged in, not saying there's a connection there
Interesting I watched you sign in after me... So look at where the thumb on the opposite end of that finger is pointing bub... I was typing response to Skitzo about being able to build stuff Vaden couldn't and noticed it wouldn't go thru :/ was a good one too.
5.
the nerfing of the progen has been mentioned a lot of times TB! even a je can keep up now tho can't stand the onslaught! but that causes more problems as the pw can't hold the agro as it should! i've stepped away from the game for the time being as i only play a pw and its worthless now! if u want a tester i'll reinstall the game and run whichever tests u want but this class is useless at the moment
Yes please do come back in, I'll give you a proper demonstration on how to play your PW and properly as apparently if you think a JE can do a better job at it you are clearly mistaken and ill informed/skilled in PW play. But I thought you left wasnt that the post you made? Get off this SAP kick, its only downfall is that it doesnt return to group as intended. The 2min residual was Live as well. What is missing is JE/JDs had it on their saps too (assuming they're days will come too). But sap was never a DPS tool and really has no bearing on the PWs current dps either! Gah wasted keystrokes honestly... I'll prove my points in game just say when n where.
6.
WOOT! I am ready for the Halloween stuff!
Just Server OS updates for Windows wasn't the content push yet. Guess they got some goodies brewing (hopefully . )
7. To think how did we survive in LIVE for so long with it like that then... Think people just had it to easy here with unlimited usage. Now ya gotta go back to the planned timing for when to use sap. Yes JEs aren't set equal with theres yet but this doesn't prevent PWs from solo'ing in Antares, Cooper or BBW... Sap IMO was just a method to get your shields back quicker for the most part if solo to continue combat not as a primary part of dps, more a heal tool that packed a descent enough punch but never was spammed, was more used as a kill shot or death blossom or agro drawer of group of mobs. Guess it will have to be how to play PW 101 for some folks (that includes proper gear and tactics).
8. Ok so not exactly 10k, did say 9-10k as I didnt have exact number 9941 pretty darn close, but those conspiracy criers love to use tunnel vision... Anyways here is the setup. I used a TE Rally Buff, and TS L9 Gorgon with the following setup. L9 Black Spitter 146% w/3.5 reload stock (turbo from Spitter+FoTM/Flechette) shows it firing every second in the tooltip - tryin to find fraps to video might be more 1.4-1.6secs... but 1sec is all that appears.) L9 Brimstone Ballista L9 Fury of the Master L9 Flechette L9 Bile x 2 L9 Crimson Force Barrier Shield L9 Heart of the Master Reactor L8 Reinforced Solar Sail L8 AWCS Device (equipped) L8 Intolerance Device (equipped) L8 Sting Device (Activated buff and removed) L6 Steinguard Embrace (Activated buff and removed) L5 Taniwhas Pride (equipped - using this as debuff with L7 Gravity link stacks - its L5 grav link that they dont) this shout came out to 8352. L7 Rally (Buff) L9 Gorgon (Debuff from TS - crits 9941 with L7 Grav link - again doesnt stack with L5 grav link) All skills on PW are max level minus beams, equipment repair, self destruct and missles.
9. I'm all the way over in Korea bud had same issues seems every once in awhile we're getting these hiccups trying to reach the servers usually falls flat when it hits 1and1.com systems(no surprise there...) But its back so hurray for us hehe. Game on!
10. So went searching for historical stuff I could find, sure wish EBPortal was around still alot of great information hidden in there. Stumbled across a Patch Article entailing me and my coworkers visit to EA and sit down with the DEVs back in the day (Travis AFB Tour - pulled the military card & hometown friend card on Hutch - Dev) heheh. Ah memories... And yes I certainly laid into Talisker no self respecting TT crafter for Galileo Server would let the Item Lead Dev go unpunished/assaulted http://web.archive.org/web/20041221100010/http://ebportal.com/news/755 Anyways good times, eventually when I get home and clean up garage I'm sure I'll find some of the photos that need scanned in (hopefully) from that day. Yes photos back then were turned in for developing as I was too poor to afford a fancy digital camera on military pay lol!
11.
90% of items in other games are not useless. Every item that drops in a raid instance, Give or take one or Two is used by some class as a primary raid item. 90% of items in EnB are not used, Period. Limited thinking when it comes to changing the cloaking, and regen effects of combat. You dont have to change all of the components, thats the long way of doing it. You end the algorithm that controls how much damage you receive from a mob. Also you could just change combat damage regen to 5 seconds, and enable it during cloaking, and it would make regen more viable.
All this from someone who is barely in L20-40 range eh? 90% of raid items in EnB Not used? really dude you need to learn facts and real things about this game. As far as other items are concerns yes most arent used because everyone chooses to use the most EFFICIENT or BEST equipment available. If you wanna stick to this 90% number fine 90% of people just choose not to be creative and go outside the normal. PERIOD... Everything save perhaps a few items from RAIDS in EnB are used... Sadly I don't think you have a clue what your talking about let alone could tell me any of the drops from said raids and who are suppose to use them. Judging by the comments in game and things you've asked. I'm sorry but you have no grounds no basis no foothold to stand on with any of these comments. You need to learn this game first before you start talking about changing anything in it. And as far as things not used... EVERY MMO has tons of items in them that may or may not be used... Including Raid items... Its called advancement too prime example... WoW was tier 1, 2, 3 etc before I quit (sure it might be more now). I'm sure people with Tier 3 certainly weren't using Tier 1 stuff anymore, why? Because they got better... Now please go find that rock you crawled out from under and go back to it. I'm sorry if its harsh but you've just rubbed me the wrong way the minute you appeared in this EMU with your FF recruitment rhetoric, to now guild hoping into what is seen as 2 different major guilds. Sorry but I sense something you need to learn the ropes still youngling. Before talking about major change to something you obviously have no clue about.
12.
In theory it's all good but lets say the hulk is surrounded by a bunch of minions and you mine that nice lvl 9 device and have like 15k hull left over from the pounding, your gona commit suicide to grab the debris just to clear the hulk? I strongly dough it.
Actually if you want to use the one place... GoBB's area with said hulks, then no, I'd just mine them all after we killed said minions. If I was solo, would just go to the other 2 navs with the same hulks and same items with less risk involved... Either way that one sole spot in the entire galaxy doesnt help/convince me the need to cherry pick at all. But we all have our 2cents I guess some are just shinier than others...
13. This day, the longest day I think I ever worked straight in my life - 39 hours before being dismissed. I was in the military at the time, going into work as we called it then, arriving just as the first plane had struck the first tower. Morning roll call did not take place yet as everyone began crowding around the big screen TV's in the break room in disbelief at what had just occurred. By the time the 2nd plane had struck, we we're alerted to the new heightened security threat level and told no one leaves we are at war and under attack. At the time I was an aircraft crew chief for the largest plane in the world the C-5 Galaxy. 36 of these beasts assigned to our station, and 28 were onsite at the time. Immediately we raced to the flight line to secure all planes on the ground, by this time the Pentagon was struck and only military air was authorized in the skies. Securing planes in this manner means closing all access doors cargo/personnel entry ways. Normally a task for 3-5 people depending on the planes current configuration. We had 2 per plane, and some we could not apply power so it required manual hand pumping to close doors. This part I do not recall where time was as we spread across the line sealing all 28 planes. To await news of our next order as we expected to be deployed at any moments notice. By now the attacks had ceased, and the towers had fallen. We were placed into recovery relief mode. All 28 planes were now authorized for immediate usage. That meant all we just got done sealing, had to be opened and guard placed at each plane. The planes were being loaded with relief support from local emergency responders (firetrucks, firefighters, EMT, etc), this was both military and civilian counterparts from the west coast gearing up to head to aid New York. I don't even remembering breaking to eat, and randomly had chances to stop and take in some water from the bottles and some fruit we would get delivered even then it was eat, chug and go, no time to think or stop. When all the planes that were authorized to fly were geared up and set to launch, the next mission was to take any remaining aircraft we had that was non-mission capable due to some maintenance/grounding reason required, we had to immediately get to work and do whatever we could to get as many available and ready. I believe the count from that 28 were 8 actually non-flyable planes, we wound up cannibalizing as much as we could to get half added back to the active fleet immediately (we averaged a 60-70% mission capable status on a normal day, but this day those numbers would significantly increase). Knuckles busted, stomachs empty, but focus and determination was full swing. Finally after 39 long grueling work hours (that mind you we sure weren't paid for any OT lol). Exhaustion set in and it was unsafe for us to continue working. Nevertheless, my position required me to take a board one of these aircraft and provide support forward as it headed to the east coast deliver its cargo and then go pickup more. I say the work day was 39hrs as that was the time on the ground, we had approximately a 6 hour flight which I recouped some sleep, had my first real food (flight meals on aircraft lol worse than civilian airlines lemme tell ya) and then passed out. Upon landing I had to ensure and inspect the airframe for immediate return flight (the inspection on a C5 after flight is generally an 8hr minimum inspection not accounting for any actual servicing/fixing)performed by at least 3+ people. I had 1 hour to turn it around by myself, the plane returned home (another 6 hours or so) and I was dismissed for the day to return in 12hours and to bring in deployment bags as it was a good chance I wasn't sticking around. This is when the reality of it all hit me and forever my life was changed. As you can tell 10 years later I still remember this day very vividly, and I will never forget where I was, what I was doing and what had happened. For the next 6 years of military service I was reminded almost daily during every deployment, during every mission, why we were doing what we were doing. Even today as I am no longer in the military I still work with them and the government, and it always looms in the back of my mind the tragic day and the events that unfolded afterwards.
14. Roids/hulks will respawn if roid/hulk is empty yes, field doesnt have to be completely cleared. Roids/hulks do not refill if say 1 of 2 things were left inside though hence the term cherry picking came about due to this. Really is it that difficult to at least clean the roid/hulk out that you opened?
15.
the cherry picking rants are starting to get on my nerves, if I want a few ores for a build I'm gona sit there and clear the field, that's just stupid, next were gona rant about warriors having to kill every mob in a sector because they killed one. play the game your way and let me play it my way and quit with the frikin winening already.
Hi pot meet kettle!
16.
Grinding is not part of all MMO's, just poorly designed ones. Grinding is directly related to whether, or how much endgame content there is. Raiding is not really sustainable endgame content because you are raiding to get uber gear to raid better. It is a cycle that can get boring quickly if you have enough raid gear or you can see through the cycle. The latter of which I'm unsure most players here can do.
Funny every MMO I've played... It was all a grind to level up. Raiding for better gear eh? Heh wonder why they called it Tier 1, 2 ...... etc in WoW for example. Thats called PvE content... WoW had specific servers for PvE and PvP. Personally I hated PvP because it meant those who had already been playing for ages all they did was just grief the new players, that and I never found MMOs a fun source for PvP thats what I play FPSers for but again to each his own. By your words though since grinding is done here, this is a poorly designed MMO, and thus I ask what are you doing here then?
17.
Is it really that easy to get to 150 I agree with the other posters, take your time to explore all the different areas, they all have their charm and targetted level ranges. There's plenty going on in the universe and we got a lot more good stuff to go in yet. I recently started levelling a Seeker up, been having a lot of fun with that. Still only on level 20-something but it's on my non-dev account so I can't use any shortcuts! You appreciate the work gone into the sectors a bit more I think.
It can be easy or it can be hard. Once you've learned the routine of any MMO and the who/what/where/when the leveling is the easy part. Note that 2-3 days means 2-3days of solid play time not just 2-3days of 1-2hrs each hehe (in case you were thinking it was too easy). But ya take a moment to stop and smell the roses before you pass them by I say
18.
Welcome back to EnB. Instead of telling you how you should be playing the game, what I see is basically a Time Sink concern. As for any tricks, There aren't any tricks to getting to level 150 in that time span. Word of warning first. Be prepared for initial hours of sitting there and doing nothing but clicking on gates, stations and NPC's. It also wouldn't hurt, if you don't know any high levels, to post something Flaming, hypocritical or bigoted in nature as a reply to any topic you don't agree with. That will surely get you a guild invite and fulfill any prereq's needed from one of the "Holier then thou" elitist jackass's in the game. Then your all set. Again, without telling you how to play, if you so choose, This is exactly how you do it. The first 24 hours. Because it's close and completely "OP" and doesn't require any kind of faction at all, do trade runs from Charon/Pluto to Earth, non-stop. That will get you to level 50 Trade. Day two. Combat xp in groups has changed yet again. Just ask any of the high levels, going to Antares, if you can tag along. (see above if you don't know any) Level 58 Voltoi should give around 2500 cl xp per kill. 60's should give around 3500 xp per kill no matter what YOUR level is. You don't have to do anything but sit there and watch. If your actually playing a Jenquai, just cloak, you won't have any problems at all. Power Leveling at it's finest. Day three. A combination of either of the first two and spill over takes care of whatever Explore you have left to gain. In less then 5 days, your level 150 and only leaves you RD faction to gain access to Smuggler's Run (BBW, Paramis). After that, all that's left is to spam market for any items you want and soon enough you'll be just like the other sheep flocking to F7 for all the gear you need for free. No tricks, just a question of ethics. Damn, standing on my soapbox again.
And Cobra thats just 1 fine way of doing it well put! Not sure if I said it or maybe was just trying to say it but ya plenty of ways to get up, in a rather fast time. But I'll tell you now... at 150 or maxed out life slows down so don't rush it. Pretend your with a woman or man (whatever your opposite is) Fun doesnt start at the end, it is enjoyed throughout the whole process of well if you have to ask then guess this analogy aint for you Trust me alot of people want to race to 150 and start life... And they are also those who race right away from the game when they get stale n bored. Then either level another character (again the race) or just wear out the very few end game content available right now. Thus missing everything in the in-between. Honestly 150 = 5 raids right now, 6 if you wanna count Mordana and 4 of those 6 can be done in under 10mins. The other 2 under 40mins (mind u this is with the right people). So what if thats all you did every day if possible that would be less than 3 hours crammed into a day (not taking in account rotating/random spawn times)... Queue the song... "SLOW RIDE..... TAKE IT EASY!" hehe
19. Spill over? heh... There are several ways to "grind" as you put it like any MMO current/past/present or future. The leveling is meant to be a grind. In the EMU it can take you 2-5days to reach 150 if you know what your doing... But whats the rush. Go explore, dont job, kill mobs all over the galaxy, find loot, discover new drops etc, mine hulks, look for raids... Get the direction this is going? Plenty to do especially when leveling imo. Yes missions may not be around every corner but its pre Alpha and your comparing to Live published games. Give it time I guess I dunno... Play a progen do the Agrippa stuff that will take a good portion of your time Do all 3 classes at the same time of it you wont need any intervention from other players just an intervention for sanity But hey its missions and rather interesting approach at that.
20. That was suppose to be the user updated database but not popular and ya it was mostly mimicked from a different out dated database. Part of the problem people go to out dated (established) sites like arsenal (I think because it looks pretty) but it to is outdated and they dont know any better. Personally I like the net-7.org method of saying its in game or not and letting me go find it hehe. But to each their own I guess. I just wish net-7.org could reflect actual in/out of game not (hidden drops) as if its tied to any mob accessible or not it says that leaving to the great mystery. And there are even some that arent tied to any mob yet they say they drop somewhere. Again all rare instances but hey make do with what I have to work with I suppose.
21. Theodius Delta L8 Reactor used to drop, now it doesnt same with L9 Cygnus used to drop now it doesnt.
22. Wait a minute... There's something... something oh thats right its called ignore... If someone sends you a tell there is no obligation to respond or care about it. Thus in point WHO GIVES a rats arse if someone asks you to build something and you dont want to. Privacy issues really? Again no one forces you to response period. Step off your soap box--- I guess I should heed my own advice and ignore this post as its gotten way outta hand and completely off topic. I do like Lot's posts I asked for the not showing every player login/logout message for several reasons prime one being wasted darn text space and server resources imo. Could careless who's on/off cept those I have in my friends list. As for the DB showing names ya worse tragedies in the world today lemme tell again see above, you dont have to answer them unless you're possessed I guess. Anyways close this topic already as its gotten --- for the most part!
23. Heart of the Dragon was in live myself and 2 other builders had it on Galileo. Unfortunately memory no longer there where it came from but a guess would have been BBW/RD Base at the time we acquired, before cluedart Taliskar (Item DEV) I presume messed something up like always.
24.
OK short and sweet, to all the innocents using a SS8 cause this is only a test of the game , how many reported it to dev team as an anomaly. Lets face you know its not in game , so who put there hand up to help so graciously with the testing. Alk
I did directly to the 2 in charge of editing the Mob loot... Both times since the April patch it was in and out... Also reported that the Device Energy Conservation on it doesnt work (like other items with said buff)... What else can I do for you?
25. If we are removing the SS8 from build lists because it was obtained from the incorrect mob drop (and the DEVs who worked on it were notified and it was removed) then all the Hulkfest, all the other items for that matter need yanked as well. Not just a few choice items. Brimstone Ballista and ammo Intent for Resolute engine Aspiration of the Faithful reactor SS8 Warth of Kokura Dark Matter stuff several devices... List can go on for aways... I mean there is a long distinguished list of things that are in game that shouldnt or obtained by whatever method... Ya be great to get them from proper channels when/if they ever are released. But fact of the matter is there are several things in game, build lists, etc that aren't the normal. Really does it matter during a ST? As Kyp said its not a 100% live game, and one would hope we could wipe and start fresh and follow a storyline, trickle based release of said instead of entire Database of items dropped right in our laps. Enjoy what ya have now because it may be gone tomorrow lol... And yes there are people who literally spent hours hunting for items they have, called dedication, no life, whatever way you wanna look at it, Hardcore gamers always trump the casual its simple math more time spent nets more rewards... Anyways guess we'll be losing more things here in the near future but eh whatev I treat it as testing not a full fledged game.
