I actually served on the big E during two deployments 1982-83 and 84 , as a member of Attack Squadron 22.

Damn. I never thought theyd decommission her, tbh. She was the first nuclear propelled AC iirc. And I think is still technically the largest vessel in the fleet (by dimension not displacement)

They better give that ship a good successor, have they designated any of the Ford class as a hull for the next Enterprise?

Edit, googled it.. theres a petition for CVN-80 (the third ford class laid down) to be named thus, but so far it hasnt picked up nearly the steam id expect. (less than 5000 signatures)

Its time for the Enterprise B... C... and D :D

I dunno how all the measurements work as i've never been a big military buff, but my Brother served on, the USS George Washington CVN73 back in the late 90s/early 2000s

I dunno the deal but we have cans from Coke that were distributed to the family that say it was considered the flagship at the time of its commissioning (which was when he was assigned) although that doesn't seem like it would be possible since the Enterprise is obviously larger being one of a kind and all that. But hey, no clue here.

*edit*
Hmm.. I just did a lil research and I guess each of our fleets has a flagship, i'd always assumed that was simply one ship. My bad. :)

*edit2*

And after a review of the play:
