Missions & Recipes

Since the Progen have Agrippa tech and have some recipes that are only avialable to members of specific classes, how about expanding the concept in mission content.

Start with the Trade classes, have some new & desirable items whose recipes can only be obtained through missions. Make some of those missions apply to all Traders, as well as some that apply to only one or two of the Traders. One can start with racial specialties, like a nice shield for a Terran buildable only by PTs, or a nice reactor for Terrans buildable only by a JT. Over time it could include other items within the build skills of the class the mission is designed for.

Since some weapons use ammo, the ammo could drop for the weapon in question. Alternatively for the PT they could go back to the NPC and get ammo samples, while the JT and TT who can build devices, get the a print allowing them to make a recipe disk or data reader, that they could sell with the weapon (the disk or reader would be for the ammo recipe, not the weapon). The trader upon completion of the mission would be able to build both the weapon & ammo (if applicable). Some of those weapons would be used by explorers and they would have to come back to the trader to buy more ammo though the explorer only ones should probably have ammo drops out in game so that more people can build the ammo.

In most cases racial restrictions on building would still apply, but there could be some missions done for 3rd party NPCs that aren't interested in the emnity between Progen & Jenquai, or even think that they should set aside their differences and might be mischevious enough to teach a PT to make an item designed for Jenquai or a JT to make something designed for Progen. (It could give buffs that aren't racially apropriate to the builder or be something like a L9 beam or L9 PL.)

Maybe Byakhee can do the Progen versions of them, whie you do the Terran ones, and Kenu does the Jenquai ones. If there is an independent content dev they could do some too. I'm thinking in terms of slowly phasing something like that in over several patches, rather than all at once.

Main thing is to get the Traders doing things to get recipes that involve building and Trading, more so than fighting. Of course I'm also all for more mining projects comparable to the MCP from live, with different ore requirements, and different rewards to choose from.

+1!

MCP and HtM (jenquirium) were such milestones for miner content...that content alone carried for near a year without additional content additions for the miner classes, because it was a turn-in- reward-system, it didn't cause content burn, like raids and boss events did, as well as allowing solofication for alternate experience when grouping wasn't available towards content rewards.

Since some of the rewards was SO unique and some niche driven, the miners didn't mind going for endless mind-numbing ore procurment missions, the side benefit was that they could 2fer it, they got the MCP/HtM ores while gathering other stuff, allowing a nice base supply of ores to the benefit of the builders and market, not to mention the miners pocketbook.

The whole concept of the Progen ones was to provide content for the Progen in response to the InfinitiCorp.

If the Terrans got more blueprints out there then the Collegia would have to gain more back!

After all, the privateers are limited with not being able to make devices, so should have more prints of the other ones.

A greater range of reactors, shields, and projectile launchers that are tweaked towards a particular pattern, so more blueprints of modified existing items.

Eg:

Rifle - "LongShot Pattern" - Increase range, increase reload speed, same ammunition

That's cool, though I was thinking a little more along the line of traders selling things to others, and not just things for their own race. That doesn't preclude traders selling things within their race. The races should have some secrets, and some things that they're willing to sell.

Mostly important, to my suggestion, is to expand the means of getting recipes more into missions, especially for the trader & explorer classes. Traders, since they're the major builders should go first, then explorers, though we also have hulks with items in them to either print, sell, or use. Mining projects are also good for us.
