capybara
Well i have installed and reinstalled net 7 about six times in Windows 7, and i get the same .Net error "unhandled exception has occured in your application" This with both 3.5 and the latest 4.0 .net app. I even tried the compatiblity feature, and run as administrator, but the same issue occurs. This error appears to be terminal, so caution if you want to run this program in Windows 7. Could not find any fix online.

I figured it might be some permissions conflict of some kind as well. I even wondered if my download got corrupted, but i downloaded it twice with no change. I got it to work by doing the following: I copied my working LaunchNet7 from a another computer, then did a reset updates. Then it worked fine. I wonder if i should look at the permissions in that account to see if there is something in there. It should be running with full admin, but i should really check. Anyways, thanks for the help. CptGemini
I had the same problem and did was kyp said except I deleted the entire LaunchNet7 folder in there and everything seems to be working now
Kyp [LDEV]
The OPs was a different problem. When you see the path is not a legal form its because the Launcher has never been taught how to handle teh absence of a path where it says "Browse". Because this is currently "NULL" or lacking a value, it results with "not of legal form" since the variable is told to be expecting a file path. The problem in that case is the LaunchNet7.config file in the Net7/bin directory doesn't exist, I would guess. I will get around to fixing that at some point, just a low priority thing. GorillaBob
Interesting, I just installed Win 7 on my main machine and I am getting the same error. I haven't looked at the entire report but I think I have the old install on the extra drive. maybe I need to copy it over to see if it will fix it... Kyp would you like me to try anything?? I will if it will help.

GorillaBob
Kyp, Since I haven't made any progress on this error, I decided to muck about a bit. Under help in Net7 Launcher, I clicked on check Certificate. It says; Certificate for "sunrise.net-t.org" is not valid or not installed. Install certificate now? If I click Ok, nothing seems to happen and if I check again, It says the same thing. If I click Install Certificate under the help menu, nothing seems to happen. Kyp [LDEV]
GB, Try this file. This is (I think) our most recent cert. You will probably need to be administrator to install it as a trusted cert, especially on vista or 7, though I'm not familiar with all the rules Windows has for certificates, there may be some others that can explain better. GorillaBob
Thanks Kyp. I installed the cert and Net7 still says it is either an invalid cert or not installed. ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. The application must also be compiled with debugging enabled. For example: <configuration> <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" /> </configuration> When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box. Kyp [LDEV]
Radcon, "System.OutOfMemoryException" Go back to the earlier part of this thread (I believe) and follow the instructions to get rid of the files under AppConfig or in your program data folder (the hidden one where applications store data) Your system ran out of RAM trying to search something in there in the user settings folder under LaunchNet7, if you delete that launchnet7 folder under your application folder and let it regenerate the next time you launch Net7, it should work. How much ram do you have, exactly?
