  1. Code of Conduct (Linked at the top of every forum) --- Under Players & Donators 6. You may not argue with or neglect to follow instructions of Net-7 staff. The player names of Net-7 staff begin with the word DEV, ADMIN or GM, and may be identified in that fashion. ---- This is where you go wrong and why that GM is justified in his or her action(s). Now, if you insist that the GM was rude, we can always pull the chat log for the server which records every single bit of chat that is sent to the server. We can look through it for the conversation and see how it went if need be to determine the true nature of this case rather than trust anyone's points of view (since they are always subjective).
  2. I say, the warder is designed to be an epic encounter. At least that's the initial thought behind it. I might lower the spawn time some but when it gets changed later for balance then I'm not going to listen to complaints about it at all. The aegis will (or should) be highly sought after by the time all of the balancing is done. Now I had considered creating a tough mission to get the components and changing him into a pop-item spawn like the oni was. I think that's going to be the best for balancing it out.
  3. Are you referring to the Aegis of the Warder?
  4. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakpoint
  5. Apologies everyone, the server has encountered an intentional breakpoint it would seem. It looks like this is something our C++ team has been tracing. It is going to by necessity be down for a little while. I can't give an exact time at the moment but know that we're working on it. I will try to let you all know something else as soon as I am able.
  6. It's a long step to say that I flat refuse. I don't recall ever having said that. I do recall saying "not at this time" which is a far cry of difference. We will be looking at this more as balancing comes along. I could make it really short right now, but honestly if I do that, and I end up having to make it longer again it'll upset people even more. By the way, average uptime (aside from when we're putting in changes and fixing the follow up bugs) is above 100 hours, by the number of seconds on his spawn it's a spawn every 32-36 hours as of this very moment, at least unless someone has gone and changed it since I put the warder back in. In regards to the "like live" thing above, that's never really been my personal goal. It's a guideline sure, but I wanted to fix what we could from live, if and only if it couldn't be fixed and balanced even better than it originally was. That has always been my opinion.
  7. I think Kerr is the one that has a fixation on theater and acting. At least he does in the sound files. Ah yes, this is referred to in the industry as "Breaking the 4th Wall". Sorry to hear that this is occurring. Do you have any specific missions in mind where it happens?
  8. It's MacKellan, thank ye, and if she able to respond to callin' er' Irish, she might be sayin' somethin' like "Naw amurny ye bam.". You can look forward to a little more of this I hope, I tried to do this with at least a few terran characters and/or npcs where you pick up missions. We do have to be someone careful about using local speech/vernacular/slang. It can tend to lose people sometimes.
  9. You still need to patch, the installers you've used were released a long time ago. Make sure you're running as an Admin (right click the .exe and choose it if you're on vista or 64, or a limited account in xp), this would be running the Launcher. Click "Launcher" in the upper left corner, and then "Reset Updates" on the sub list, then Launcher > Check for Updates. This should trigger everything to patch for you, after that remember to run the configuration if you haven't, then try to log in if you've already registered your game account.
  10. Log out of windows and log back in, try it again. This happens a lot on vista machines, not exactly sure why to be honest. The logout/login of windows usually fixes it right up though.
  11. no not in just yet, add that to the meeting agenda if you would, a written reminder is useful. as for that browser, it's a bit simplified, doesn't have a lot of features to do anything really really interesting. We'll certainly consider the suggestions though. As Slayer pointed out he's got a site that will increase your ability to get around the web from there. Perhaps 2 in the future, and 3 well... we all play windowed if we're testing, defeats the point of needing such, but thanks for keeping us in mind.
  12. is testing the final results of said secret project.

  13. Y'know, not everyone plays to maximize XP in a given number of hours afterall, some people play these games to sit around and be social. The guild I was in met up at stations quite often just to stand there and talk, and sometimes arrange expeditions where we went out together. You can't just lump everyone into feeling the same way about it as you, yourself do.
  14. Fair enough, my fault for not noticing the time that it was posted. drat.
  15. No, the server is not down. When you say you can't login, can you provide more detail? Why not? Where does it fail? Are there any error messages? Also, this should go to tech support. I will move it.
  16. Couldn't say for sure, depends on how actively the server is being used right now.
  17. No, I just meant those are two I know it uses during the login process.
  18. If you're on a 64 bit system, this is a 32 bit application, it will install by default to %PROGRAMFILES%\EA Games\Earth & Beyond\*.* this amounts to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Earth & Beyond\ This is an indication that one of the ports it needs to use is in-use by a program you are using. I don't remember all the ports off the top of my head but if it's happening as soon as you push play, you might try making sure nothing is hogging port 443 or 3807
  19. We could create a whole new sector called deep space that is eligible for stations to be "built" and do something like this. Who's to say it wouldn't also come with a guild-hall return token or something that takes you to your guild hall via a special unstable wormhole? A place to meet, greet, engage in negotiations, and have your own vendors as well as a guild vault. (Hey, I liked Chernevog...) all vendors would be player run, allowing people to transfer their items as they've collected them in. This would allow them to set pricing and make money as they go. (now note, these are just a few simple answers and wild off the top of my head ideas but this could be useful in the future. )
  20. Added to my long list.
  21. this would be a good assessment, some of us live and breathe enb stuff in every spare moment, some work more in available time (read: weekends). We'd love to be able to pull it down and non-primetime and things like that but that means we'd by necessity have to make our living doing it rather than having to get up to go to work (And we can't because EA would get imperial on us if we were to do that, I believe.)

    Faction

Yes, those are the capacities by document that we have from the original design. I don't think they've been changed, so if you're showing hated or loved well beyond those points, it is very likely a bug
  23. It is known about, check the server status thread in general. It is indeed a crash and not planned outage, if we plan to take it down we will let you know ahead of time.
  24. then it should be: D:\E&B\release\client.exe assuming (E& is the game's main folder.
